Tom Cruise is a certifiable weirdo but his career is doing very well, especially the part of it that involves making money. From what I've heard, he made 100 million on Top Gun Maverick and he'll make even more by way of the movie's back end profit. If that's a ruined career, sign me up! Ryder is doing pretty well too. She's the highest paid actor/actress on a massive hit show. Ryder made 350k per episode of Stranger Things. That's not "ruined career" money.

The attendants at the Academy Awards gave Will Smith a standing ovation during his acceptance speech. They then stuck their fingers in the air and felt the backlash and suddenly they were 'taking it very seriously'. They have no morals except the one's that are popular at the time.
Tom Cruise didnt ruin his carreer. Mission Impossible and Top Gun have both been MASSIVELY successful.
"Difficult to work with" is a control tactic by the Producers and Directors. You could be labeled "difficult" if you keep your standards and boundaries. Directors are notorious for pulling last-minute, unapproved/ unagreed changes and making the talent look bad if they refuse to do it. For example, Alfred Hitchcock terrorized his actesses, Tippi Hedren, in the movie The Birds. Dave Chappelle was called "difficult" because he didn't want to wear a dress in a comedy scene.
I worked on several Fred Savage productions and the guy was always cool and professional.
Tom Cruise still seems to be doing okay…Top Gun: Maverick.

Certainly, claims are false or true with lawsuits, and definitely, arrests can give a career a black eye. No doubt Hollywood is a business full of people and not all of them are the nicest people as you would find as with those out in the REAL world. So, when I see these clips I have to wonder if the actor or actress actually offended someone important or self-important as the case may be, and they end up on some do approach list for a role in much of anything. I'm sure there is a seedier and nasty side to the whole industry that no one dares speak of outside of the business.
