Of course, there are those who insist that a Honda Civic with a coffee can is superior. I can hear the screams of outrage from the Consumers Reports demographic when the sounds of a modded Fox body are heard.
I just want to say that your car man was the inspiration for me to buy a 5.0 fox and go with the E cam with flowmaster 40's. Sorry to hear you sold it, but it is SOOOO badass sounding.
DAMN! that thing sounds beautiful. I'm currently doing a GT40 head swap, along with a e303, long tubes/duals, and Cobra upper and lower intakes on the 302 in my 96 F150. I'd be happy as hell if its sounds even half as nice as yours.
@FORDGTFANATIC Well it's more of a top end cam because it's designed for supercharged applications, but that doesn't mean you can't use it on a n/a setup
Two chamber, it does also have a powerdyne supercharger so that makes it a little bit louder i've noticed because once in awhile i toss my belt and the exhaust gets way quieter
Funny how that works huh haha. In the video it has shorty headers, mac off road h pipe, 40 series two chamber flowmasters and 21/2 inch tail pipes for exhaust, I've since taken the tail pipes off though and put turn downs. The rest of the mods are a Powerdyne supercharger, aluminum gt40x heads, bigger roller rockers, e303 cam, mass air conversion with 42# injectors is all the main stuff. Obviously the camshaft has a lot to do with how it sounds, and the e cam has a pretty good lope to it.
@diplomatic4 They're just the original 40 series two chamber mufflers, it's got mac shorty headers and a mac h pipe and it's 2 1/2 inch exhaust. the headers were actually already on the car when I got it but the shorty headers are easy to put on, it's long tubes that are a pain in the ass.
@moh97gt Depends on what other modifications are done to the motor, if its a stock motor with just a cam i'd say roughly 15 horse or so. On this car it went from 276 rwhp to 348, but that was also changing the heads from stock to aluminum gt40x heads and this car was supercharged so the gains were more significant from changing the heads and cam.
@sterner766 Depends on what the rest of the motor is I guess, the b303 is more for naturally aspirated motors, the e303 is more designed for supercharged motors.
Well i don't drive the car in the winter i had just brought it in the driveway to let it run since it was a nice day, but since i've had it tuned it idles right at 900 rpm's all day long hot or cold and starts easy. Also if i'm easy on it on the highway it gets 23 mpg and thats making 341 horse and 371 torque at the wheels
@notchbackTX Yeah if you do a cam you have to convert to mass air otherwise it won't run worth a shit, it wasn't to bad to do i just bought a whole wiring harness out of a mass air car and spliced in the mass air part to the speed density harness. I'm sure there's other ways to do it but that seemed like the easiest way to me and it worked great, you'll also have to get a mass air computer obviously. It was kinda time consuming but it has to be done if you want the car to run good.
@ralatorre9 for the record, Ive owned a 1992gt and I currently own an 06gt. My 92 had ported gt40p heads, f303 cam, holley systemax intake, bbk 70mm tb, full exhaust (mixed brands), tune, and 3.73 gears. It was comparable to my 06gt with a tune, 3.73 gears, twin blade 65mm tb, (gt500), frpp longtubes and xpipe, borla catback, UD pulleys. 1st and most of 2nd gear were dead even. after about 5krpm in 2nd gear, the 06 starts pulling. I spray a 100shot on the 06 sometimes, its no comparison then.
All stock internals except for the cam, has aluminum gt40x heads and a ported stock intake, and a powerdyne supercharger making 7psi it made 341 horse and 371 tq at the wheels
@ROBBY639 You don't have to do the rockers, and the springs you could maybe get away with keeping if it's a low mile motor, if it has higher miles i'd change em though.
They are pretty epic cars ... once you drop a bit of money into Eng mods / boltons , and beef up the Susp. Slowfiveoh - had I think it was a 91 fox hatch with the Grigs Full GR40kit Punch to 307 and a few other things ... pretty much any bolt on he could , and his GR40 stang was a dream ! My 98 however is p00p atm ... Work in progress . PIheads intake 90mm TB and MAF to come and Major SUSP upgrades!
@ROBBY639 Well I got the cam used for 100 bucks, the flowmasters are roughly 100 buck for the two mufflers and it didn't cost anything to install it cuz I did it myself. It can easily be a daily driver yes, but I didn't drive the car in the rain cuz it was pretty scary on wet roads. And this car would get about 25 mpg on the freeway, but it was also supercharged so at 80 mph it was making about 3 psi so I hardly had to use any throttle. In town it sucks the gas down pretty fast though.
@blown87gt Nice, I'll probably look into getting a good tune somewhere. I'm not too worried about the dyno as is since its my daily driver and I just need an up in drivability for now
@ROBBY639 Well when I did mine I also swapped heads and did a mass air conversion, but if you were just to do a cam swap it wouldn't more than a few hours, assuming you have the mechanical capabilities to change the cam of course.
i gotta stop watching stang vids i want mine so bad but its put away in storage. I have a E303 ready for it and o/r h pipe to go on it once i get it back along with edelbrock upper nd lower intake with 70mm tb. Car is gonna get woken up for sure cant wait!
@ScooterTuck11 Well I replaced the rockers because I wanted bigger ones, and I replaced the springs because the motor had 140,000 miles on it. But the rockers you don't need to unless they're worn out, same for the springs really.
@JCWWRacing905 It also had 3.73's, the car had a supercharger on it so in fifth gear going 80 on the freeway it was making like 2 psi so i hardly had to hit the gas thats why the mileage was so good, it was 550 bucks for the dyno tune and chip.
@SevDrums77 It had aluminum gt40x heads, 1.7 rockers and the cam was installed strait up. This vid was before the car was tuned and it also had stock ignition.
@iam152 Just a 160,000 mile motor with aluminum gt40x heads, stock ported intake, frpp e303 cam and a powerdyne supercharger. made 348 rwhp and 371 rwt at 7 psi. So many head/cam/intake packages out there that i'd just do that, then throw a blower on it or do a stroker.
@mr50lx Well i bought the cam used for 100 bucks and changed it while I swapped heads too, so it's kinda hard to say. I'd say if you were doing just a cam swap it'd be 150 at the most if you find a used cam then get the various gaskets.
@stratspider230 Well when I did it I was also swapping heads and so I had everything off anyways, but just a cam swap wouldn't be to hard. Just have to take all the accesories off the front of the motor and take the timing cover off, also you'll have to convert the car to mass air like I did if you want it to idle worth a shit.
@stratspider230 I just got a used wiring harness from a junkyard and good meter injectors etc from a mustang forum and saved some money but yeah if you can get the whole works for a decent price new why not.
@thesnotfIakes What's bullshit? 45 horse? That was a guess, keep in mind though the car was supercharged before and after the heads so swapping heads was way more benificial with boost. With the stock heads it made 276 at the wheels and after swapping the heads and cam it made 348, thats 72 horse chief, so i guessetimated 45 was from the heads.
Ezrunout understandable! Hear every one who sells theirs say that! I still have mine but the engine died/locked up! Great engine 302!!!! I had a loose oil filter & it caused poor lubrication to from lifters!!! If not for that it would still be running strong! Lesson learned but didn't have a back up car to open up & check rockets lifters etc! We r trying 2 rebuild her with another block! God is good!!!!
@hvillecobalt It is a good cam with a pretty nasty lope to it, I actually sold the car because I have an 01 gt now but i really miss the lumpy idle so I'm gonna have to cam this one too, to bad I have to buy two cams now though lol
what kind of flowmaster s are you runnin? did the h pipe fit well with the headers? i got a 90 25th ann gt and i love the way your car sounds right now im runnin mac set up with flowmaster headers no cam but im getting a e 303 cam with a shift kit and a 132 stall converter just wanted to know how you got your setup how many inches is the pipe? was the headers a bitch to put on exhaust what kind of h pipe?? plz respond
@ScooterTuck11 Are you talking about just gutting them out? That's all I can think of. Not sure how you go about doing that, I live in Minnesota and we don't have emissions testing here so I just run off road h or x pipes.
@JCWWRacing905 Awesome, thanks thats some great info! What gears were you running to get that mileage? Im running 3.73s and I get decent mileage, Im sure it would improve with a good tune. About how much was the tune and chip burning?
Haha nice. Mine also has a blower and aluminum heads as well, last year it ran traction limited 12.90's at 108 mph with stock h/c/i and only 6psi, now it's 9 so should go low 12's.
@JCWWRacing905 Yeah I had the car dynoed and tuned and a chip burnt, it ran like complete ass until I did that. I drove the car one tank of gas and it was only like 110 miles (8ish mpg) and the idle was horseshit to say the least, after I had it tuned it got 25 mpg if I drove it on a long trip and it idled right at 800 rpm's hot or cold.
Depends on the condition and mods, but being mostly rust free, and the amount of mods it's worth six grand(I think so anyways). Doesn't mean I'll get it though haha.
@weese8131 It was the bd-11a and it was the biggest pile of crap blower ever haha, but considering it was only 1600 bucks new I shouldn't complain. I don't even have the car anymore
@FORDGTFANATIC Well I know mustangs are, but not sure about the f-150's (I'm assuming thats what the motor is out of) I would be willing to bet that it is, but better get conformation from someone who knows for sure. I know I saw a vid on youtube of a mid 90's bronco that had an e303 in a 351, just look up e303 bronco. Maybe ask him he might know more than I do.
Music to my ears. Nothing sounds better than a fox body mustang. Absolutely love it
Of course, there are those who insist that a Honda Civic with a coffee can is superior. I can hear the screams of outrage from the Consumers Reports demographic when the sounds of a modded Fox body are heard.
Oooooh weeeeeh!!!! I have always loved the sound of the '90s 5.0L engine. Amazing!
The E303 cam makes beautiful music 🎶 🎶
My Bro ran the F303 Cam, years ago. Too bad those FORD Cams are Sooooooo Outdated Now. Check out Comp Cams, I've Always used Comp in all my builds.
Nothing like the sound of a mustang! Love it
I’ll always listen to this clip when it pops up in my recommended lol
I think this is my favorite video on the interwebs. Bravo.
I just want to say that your car man was the inspiration for me to buy a 5.0 fox and go with the E cam with flowmaster 40's. Sorry to hear you sold it, but it is SOOOO badass sounding.
That was like bacon for my ears!
DAMN! that thing sounds beautiful. I'm currently doing a GT40 head swap, along with a e303, long tubes/duals, and Cobra upper and lower intakes on the 302 in my 96 F150. I'd be happy as hell if its sounds even half as nice as yours.
Nothing like a 302 e303 idle in the morning. Love it.
I had the same car same color back in the 90s. Great car0
This is what your trip to heaven sounds like 😁
Thanks, it actually sounds different now because i took the tailpipes off and now it just has turndowns. Ill have to put a video up someday.
What brand h pipe and headers
@@atarheelchamp199 vv
@FORDGTFANATIC Well it's more of a top end cam because it's designed for supercharged applications, but that doesn't mean you can't use it on a n/a setup
1.6 roller rockers make the e303 sound huge
Like numero 1000 para ese gran mustang!
Nice "slowmasters" there Shirley Muldowney. You should be able to impress trailer park with how LOUD your mullet mobile is now.
Two chamber, it does also have a powerdyne supercharger so that makes it a little bit louder i've noticed because once in awhile i toss my belt and the exhaust gets way quieter
Funny how that works huh haha. Obviously the camshaft has a lot to do with how it sounds, and the e cam has a pretty good lope to it.
My opinion on a GT body style like this if you put the dumps or turn downs I think it will have a more deeper echoey tone ,
You sir just changed my mind about selling my 82 GT. Thank you. GRRRReat sounding stang btw.

Well the cam is what makes it sound so good and the e303 is a pretty lopey cam so i don't see why it would sound much different
I love how it sounds!! I had an e303 in my old 90 gt fox
@notchbackTX Yeah if you do a cam you have to convert to mass air otherwise it won't run worth a shit, it wasn't to bad to do i just bought a whole wiring harness out of a mass air car and spliced in the mass air part to the speed density harness. The heads won't affect the sound, just the cam does.
@FORDGTFANATIC I don't see why it wouldn't as long as it's a roller block, just check for clearances to be safe
@plane45036 Actually it has a stock intake even.. But it did have a crappy powerdyne supercharger on it though. 6 psi.
All stock internals except for the cam, has aluminum gt40x heads and a ported stock intake, and a powerdyne supercharger making 7psi it made 341 horse and 371 tq at the wheels

@rompn4x Well considering 1.6 are stock roller rockers I'd say it's the e303 that makes the e303 sound huge. This car had 1.7's though.
@plane45036 An LS1 also has an extra .7 liters of displacement. You can't compare a 302 to a 346.
They are pretty epic cars ... once you drop a bit of money into Eng mods / boltons , and beef up the Susp.

looking at a '91 gt hatchback for my first car. love the fox bodys
@ROBBY639 Well I got the cam used for 100 bucks, the flowmasters are roughly 100 buck for the two mufflers and it didn't cost anything to install it cuz I did it myself. 👌🏻best sound ever…flowmaster 40’s on a fox
Thats a good time considering the air up there and the obvious traction issues though
@B1Springfield The car had aluminum gt40x heads with bigger rockers and also had a powerdyne supercharger
Just the way I like it, just enough rumble!

@JCWWRacing905 Well most shops dyno it while they tune it anyways, it's usually a package deal.
@Hendrixidol I'd say it sounds more like a 302 with an e303 camshaft and flowmaster mufflers
what h pipe and headers
@JCWWRacing905 It also had 3.73's, the car had a supercharger on it so in fifth gear going 80 on the freeway it was making like 2 psi so i hardly had to hit the gas thats why the mileage was so good, it was 550 bucks for the dyno tune and chip.
@SevDrums77 It had aluminum gt40x heads, 1.7 rockers and the cam was installed strait up. This vid was before the car was tuned and it also had stock ignition.
@hdsfer Well the purpose of the video was to show what the cam sounds like
@iam152 Just a 160,000 mile motor with aluminum gt40x heads, stock ported intake, frpp e303 cam and a powerdyne supercharger. made 348 rwhp and 371 rwt at 7 psi. So many head/cam/intake packages out there that i'd just do that, then throw a blower on it or do a stroker.

Sweet, up here in Colorado at bandimere i ran 13.0 flat at 6psi with a 2.2 sixty foot lol
Sounds real good!!! probably smells awesome too
@TheFordman30287 That's weird because the e303 is a really lopey cam, and the f303 even more so.. Not sure what to tell ya.
That's one beautiful clean fox body.
:)
sounds amazing
These were the original 40 series two chamber
what headers
beautiful car sounds nice sorry to hear you sold it....had a 91 gt with b303 cam sold it also...worst decion of my life
Ezrunout understandable!
Yup... that's about like my 87' sounds like 👍
@acegamer2 Not a clue, I live in Minnesota and Minnesota winters and mustangs aren't a good combo haha. I sold this car 4 years ago anyways.
@hvillecobalt It is a good cam with a pretty nasty lope to it, I actually sold the car because I have an 01 gt now but i really miss the lumpy idle so I'm gonna have to cam this one too, to bad I have to buy two cams now though lol
Sounds like it amazing! Also when you shut the door at :58 it sounds like an actual "pony".
what kind of flowmaster s are you runnin? did the h pipe fit well with the headers? i got a 90 25th ann gt and i love the way your car sounds right now im runnin mac set up with flowmaster headers no cam but im getting a e 303 cam with a shift kit and a 132 stall converter just wanted to know how you got your setup how many inches is the pipe? was the headers a bitch to put on exhaust what kind of h pipe?? plz respond
I run that exhaust with "Long tubes" on a 347 s/c stroker. 2-1/2" all the way out.
@ScooterTuck11 Well I did mine while also doing a head swap, so that made it easy as far as the cam go's.
Haha no I don't mind at all, the e303 does have a pretty good lope to it.
Clean ride, how is the interior noise going down the hwy with the flowmaters?
Stephen
Dam it sounds fucking great!
i have the e303 cam in my 90 gt and wanted to know how the gt40 heads were with it
@ralatorre9 Hard to say, depends on the mods of each car.
@StangsOFMiami Slp is loud, never heard it on a foxbody before though.
@blown87gt yeah that's it. I live in Arkansas and taking cats off is illegal here. I'm not too worried about it but my luck they'd look lol
@rey0176 I would but I have no idea how to do that. Never thought about it
@ScooterTuck11 Are you talking about just gutting them out?
Love that sound great video
@plane45036 The Ls1 Your talkn two different small blocks put it next to a rod knocken T.P.I 5.7 cammed or did you jump the band wagon in 1998!
Sounds good dude
Are your flowmasters single or two chambers?
Best sounding mustang I have heard!
@TheFordman30287 Are you sure it was an e303 then? Cuz they lope pretty good. Mine had bigger roller rockers so that helps a little bit too.
I ran hooker 2 chambers with mine. Gave a deeper Idle but screamed on the top end. Nice Stang though!
@blown87gt alright man thanks. One more question though. How much did you pay for insurance on this car?
What heads? 1.62 rockers? Get springs capable of .600 squish, and youll be fine with stock valve train. Clay the engine to check clearance.
@weese8131 It was the bd-11a and it was the biggest pile of crap blower ever haha, but considering it was only 1600 bucks new I shouldn't complain. I don't even have the car anymore
@ralatorre9 no lol. The fox 5.0 would need those mods to beat the s197 (as far as the 05-10gt's are concerned. 11-12gt's are another story)
Nothing sweeter!
@ blown87gt wow that's a pretty good improvement! What do you think about the gt40p iron heads?
I don't remember what the timing was at, I sold this car 3 years ago. The video was before the car was tuned
@70Ford302 Wasn't hard at all, I had a wiring harness out of a mass air mustang and just spliced in the mass air part.
