Great video! Never considered that technique around the outlet. You should mention that it is very important to do this only with low voltage wiring, never with alternating current cables like the thick ones that go into the back of a desktop PC. It is also advisable to not run network cables that close to your power cable in the wall.
On one side i love "your" walls (the US Style) because you can hide cables with ease. In good old germany with have walls out of bricks (sometimes solid ones). Hiding cables in there needs a lot of prework and is a hell of a mess...chisel a chanel, reaply wallpaper and color. You should repaint the whole wall, not just spots. we need to do everything with cable chanel on the wall surface. that looks also horrible :D On the other side, our houses are very solid and durable :)

This is my goal the next month. Just spent a ton on a brand new PC set up and the wire management is killing me. Looking at all kinds of things to fix this mess now.
The traditional way works much better. Remove the plug from the wall to give yourself more space. You’ll need a simple string similar to weed eater wire. Tape that to your glow rod and fish it down the wall the same way. Have some needle nose pliers ready to pull it all out. Cut the wire from the rod and re tape the wire back to the wire to pull back through the top.
Agree. This dude's a moron. And the fact that he pinched live wires off with a cover is beyond stupid. Hopefully he sees this and loves his daughter enough to fix his stupid mistake so she doesn't die in a fire.

That’s not safe at all!!! The wire for that plug is not rated to be inside the wall. This is definitely a code violation and a safety issue. Don’t teach people bad habits!!!
You shouldn't be so harsh in your words until you know what's the case. As an example: Here in Norway we are not allowed to run our standard powercables (240V) in walls without pipes. BUT If it's 5V running from that powersupply to the camera, it's no problem at all! You run your Lancables through walls, right? Same thing here... So now you are the one who teach people bullshit ;)
You need to stick to roofing. Been installing cameras, alarms and access control systems for 27 years. It’s low voltage cable. There’s no violation here. And I have to renew my license every two years. And in all the years they never said that this is a code violation.

Hi ! You seem more comfortable than you were in your first video. I just discovered your channel today, and you're doing great ! I enjoy the cable managment tutorials, desktop building, etc, and i expect you will keep going ! Are you making by yourself the video editing ? It's a success, whatever
This page has a chart where you can see what NEC has to say: www.cablewholesale.com/support/technical_articles/cable_ratings_and_materials_and_counterfeiters.php The issue is less about the voltage and more about the ability of the actual jacket on the cable to catch fire etc. You can see that for in home use basically it is the lowest standard and goes up from there. So if it breaks NEC would depend on where your doing this and what sort of jacket the cable has. In your house with a hand full of people this is not going to really matter. In a business where you have thousands of wires and thousands of lives then it starts to matter a lot.
So going back to the start of your video where to talk about folks set ups being ruined by wires, how would you run monitor power cables behind the wall? Kinda went a bit off topic by installing a low voltage wire.
Please do this from the bottom to the top so you dont hit the outlet with chain. BOOM Unless you turn off the power like suggested. Reminds me of about 10 years ago bobo lol. great video

This is smart i totally agree on that, but im not sure that's legal to do in alot of country's, due to Electrical codes :)
thank you for this video, again a nice video. i do get inspired by your video's on how to make stuff and all. Thanks again.

What about thicker power cords ?
What’s the best way to do this if the outlets is on an adjacent wall
Even our new homes are built properly in the UK, try this here you'll have plenty of trouble 😂.

Lol where?

Here is a good idea. You had the socket open, why didn't you hardwire it?
What a cute baby name! Thanks for sharing this video:)
so i know we see it as 9 mins because its a sped through vid.
How long would you say it really took you to do this?
Probably 10 minutes. I’ve used this technique for years running low voltage wires.
when does the next video come?
One of these days these videos will be produced w/o 2010 edm.
I'm going to try it. I want to put cameras in every room including the closets
So going back to the start of your video where to talk about folks set ups being ruined by wires, how would you run monitor power cables behind the wall? Kinda went a bit off topic by installing a low voltage wire.
You would have to add a receptacle behind your monitor.
nice Video!!! i need this
