It makes me happy that so many people are being exposed to how mature video games can be. There’s still a lot of people who think of them as “only for children” and this show being so true to the game is proving that hasn’t been the case for a long time.
@@kennycooper294 Exactly, in the first fucking 30 mins of the game, you realize it's not a kids game because Sarah dies. Disney doesn't do that. How in the fuck did she think that?
Yes, all this happens in the game. In fact, this episode was probably the most one-to-one with the game thus far. Phenomenal performances from Bella and Pedro and Scott Shepherd (David)
Hi Pilar you should definitely give the game a try it’s totally worth it, the experience of playing the game for the first time is like any other, although you have watched the show already you’ll still enjoy the game as much as you did watching the show and you’ll get even more attached to the characters while playing the game and following they’re journey
21:15 I totally agree. Her acting of emotions is unbelievable good. As a fan of the game I was so scared about the casting cause Ellie is my favorite game character. But Bella far exceeded any of my expectations in every scene
You would LOVE the game, Pilar. They have a bunch of difficulties so if you want to play for the story they have “story mode” where the enemies are easier for people who just want to go through the story. I’ve played that mode before.
These guys couldn't have said it any better but they didn't tell you that the game have similar looking actors but I'm sure you knew that so I would like to see your reaction to the original faces and voices because I loved how they made this series with its small and medium difference to keep you on your toes and no the game is not gentle it's intense but pretty and scary, feels like playing a movie
Also yes many of the heavy scenes are in the game but they did change some scenes and made it heavier in the game but more tragic and happy in the series just so it's not copying everything from game, the last of us part 2 game is a more heavier game then the first one so its an experience to have if you like a good zombie post apocalypse with thriving cities and beliefs that people made to stay strong but most importantly to remain in control against trouble while the first one is more about who's the fittest to outlast the fight for control
First timer! Lovely to meet you. I've played both the games and this show got me everytime. When joel says baby girl my heart melts. And yes. Its in the video game

Es una historia muy bonita que vale la pena. Si lo juegas ahi voy ha estar viendote! PD: En el juego si veras muchos mas infectados jejeje
Cannibalism as an absolute last resort for survival is one thing. Yes it's an awful choice to make but it's real and it happens throughout history. This of course is being forced to eat the already dead amongst you. Actively pursuing and murdering people is entirely different obviously. I like that the episode doesn't make it clear which is the case here. David is evil for a dozen different reasons though and deserved even more than what Ellie delivered. He's actually very lucky Joel didn't capture him, Great reaction as always Pilar!
Yes . Please play the game on easy setting ( since you’re not a full gamer) when you get the chance. You will find you will get a different, but similar experience while playing. I would enjoy watching your videos while playing too.
Hey, Pilar! The guy who played David's second, who shot the horse and who was cleavered by Ellie is Troy Baker who voiced Joel in the game! The least of David's transgressions was his cannibalism. It´s defintely worth playing the game after the show. The general storyline is the same, with some tweaks here and there, but it feels very different (in a good way) to actually live through this story because its interactive. There are more infected and more of the world in the game. The second game is also absolutely beautiful. I guess the second season will be based on it
You should totally play the game!! The storylines are very similar and almost exactly the same most of the time, but the game still has so many surprises to offer, like the way the story beats happen will still feel fresh even if you’ve already seen the show. Also there are LOTS of infected, and being inside the world of The Last of Us and actually being able to walk around and experience it for yourself is a whole new level of storytelling. If you’re worried about it being your first time playing a game, there’s a lot of accessibility features that can help guide you and make things easier, so I’ve heard that it’s actually not too hard for first-time players to get a hang of!
Hola Pilar, how insane was this episode. Joel wounded, Ellie captured and the creepy cannibal preacher, sick, sick, sick ! Ellie went Psycho mode with that meat cleaver on creepy preacher man. The ending scene where Joel called Ellie babygirl was emotional! Always enjoy your reactions and point of view, until the season finale ! ✌
it is definitely worth playing it! watching the show only enhanced my enjoyment of the universe, so i'm sure you'll appreciate all the little details that weren't included while u go through the game :)
Definitely should play the game! A whole different, immersive experience than just watching the show. It's the most awarded video game franchise of all time for a reason ;)
What me and my wife do is we watch the TV show on HBO then we watch the game version up to that point after. We never played the game but doing it this way we're really enjoying it. I know the people that are into the game are real fanatics, they have to keep in mind the game is not a TV show that's going to go for several seasons hopefully and they have to change it add to it and do what they think will work in that environment and they're doing a fantastic job. Also some people weren't happy and still may not be because Ellie doesn't look like Ellie but the male characters in this past game version of episode eight several of them look like they could be brothers so maybe part of its just due to the medium and the people that design the characters. In the TV version the different characters have much more variety in how they look which only makes sense.
It’s not just the horse hoof prints. They dragged an entire horse to their storage area. It likely left a huge trail including blood. Not very hard to track it back to their location. Joel is an army veteran after all.
Play the game, you play each character in split scenes. You can explore other areas where the video doesnt cover too, you collect rewards from corners, so it is encouraged to explore. plus you can play season 2 ahead to know what will happen rather than wait another year possibly. By the way the actor who plays James is actually Joel's character in the game.
They have greenlit a 2nd season and announced it. The show runners have said their plan is for season 2-3 to cover the 2nd game (the 2nd game is a twice as long story) If they get to the point that season 3 is done and HBO still wants more, and they haven’t released the 3rd game yet, they said they would be open to an anthology series following other characters in this world. All that said, the first game’s story was originally a definitive end because at the time they didn’t anticipate it would succeed and get sequels.
Hello. This series has pretty much stayed true to the game. So everything you’ve seen so far has been in the game. Plus they added even more for the show. Give the game a try if you get a chance. There’s also a part 2 to the game.
You should stream your playthrough. It would be interesting to watch, not just for reaction in comparing the game to the show, but because you've never played a video game before. Lol.
I wouldn't show any mercy to the guys sent out to bring back my corpse so they could eat it either.I think a lot of people forgot that about the guy's that Joel interrogated and killed.
You will enjoy the game, you will be able to expand your time with the characters and there are a lot of experiences between the characters that you can't re create in the series. You will spend more hour with them and fulfill your love for Ellie and Joel
7:20 if Ellie didn't run into them she would never have gotten the penicillin to save Joel. 14:50 Definitely not a children's video game, lol. And yes that was in the game.
@@pilarslittlestudio No worries. Last I remembered you had just moved country and then covid hit and you was having a pretty hard time being in a new place and being locked down. Hope you have settled and are having a better time :) All the best.
Pilar, the video game is definitely not a children's game, like at all. Soooooo still want to play it on pc?!😉 Imo it's worth playing even if you just play it for yourself offline. It's well worth it and if you feel emotions in this tv series you will feel them even more in the video game. Amazing reaction thanks so much Pilar🥰I'm with you I will riot and boycott the awards shows with you if they don't get all the nominations and awards!😉🙂
if you want to play the video game I suggest you play part two as you have already seen the first one in the series although playing it wouldn't be bad, however the game is rated 18+ so is normal that it's brutal even in the video game, to answer your question 👍❤️
Interesting reaction thank you. Many ethical questions in this episode in particular. The clicker noise comes from the deer rubbing its antlers against a tree. I disagree about Ellie just giving up her kill to the thieves letting Joel and herself die of hunger? The rules of the world she lives in are different from ours. Joel was attacked by the man he killed at the university and they are still coming to kill him so he kills them. We've been told Joel, Tess and Tommy are very violent and now you see it. Joel has slowly been learning to be able to feel love and connection again through Ellie and she just did extraordinary things to keep him alive after he was stabbed. He will do anything literally to keep her safe.
They confirmed the second season and there is a second game. It's been practically the same as the games were -including that torture/interrogatory bit- and the second season will be based on the second game (apparently, since the next episode is the last of this one) so get your heart prepared bc things gonna get a lot more wild second part. I didn't like the ending of the second game but it doesn't make it bad! The story is a master piece in every aspect. You should definitely play the game but try to avoid the second for no spoilers of the second season.
"If you lost in the darkness, look for the light" If Ellie was the light in the darkness, there is not much left of it now. For Joel, it's still enough. He regains his light through her, at the same time she loses hers through this world. Another low point for Ellie and a turning point for her. Here the animal in Ellie came out with her overkill and the experience she had to make. Almost r*p*d and eaten. Here she experiences for the first time the worst abysses in man. I think if you've seen Ellie's past reactions to losses, there wasn't much anger involved. She swallowed Sam's and Henry's death completely. Here in her outburst really everything came out, which was not seen before. There is no way back for her. She will not be the same anymore. The episode is also important for the future. It shows what Ellie is capable of. A dark side in her that people like David recognize. We have already seen this in her. Her slightly morbid side when she tortured the stalker and then kills him (because of Riley). She gets very close to a dead man who has just committed suicide and then laughs as he breaks through the ground. She watches in fascination when Joel beats the soldier to death in episode 1. The constant asking for a gun. This side in her is not dominant but it is there. Another very good change to the game was to show that Joel didn't manage to interrupt Ellie's Overkill. So this scene ran much longer than in the game. Which shows that Ellie does not come to an end so easily when she has started something based on her emotions. Her emotions/charakter don't allow that. This wasn't just an overkill, this was an over-overkill. Of course, absolutely understandable. I think the series does a better job than the original in terms of part 2. Of course, the game did not have the foresight of a second part at that time. We learned that David and James use codes when they speak. So it is easy to imagine that they did not spoted a deer but humans. The conversation they had about how much rations they still have was certainly coded. Three human bodies were hanging there. That's what should last another week or two. Then they decided to go hunting after a "deer". The four men David sent out two episodes ago were certainly also on the hunt for people. That's why Joel was directly attacked. Even though David says that only a few people know and he certainly believes that, I think everyone there knows what they are eating. They are all afraid of David and he is their provider after all. No one asks questions because nobody wants to hear the answer, but everyone knows. If you say something, it becomes true. For them, David is God and every time David speaks of God or Father, he means himself. Even the banner in the steakhouse "when we are in need, he shall provides" is nothing more than a reminder to people that it is David who ensures their survival and not God. In the episode about God and faith, David is the devil in human form. The devil seduces, the devil lies, and the devil loves fire. That's why he lets the steakhouse burn. This is the methapher. We're supposed to see who David is. The shot just before Ellie attacks David shows this very well. He stands in a wall of fire. The story David told Ellie by the campfire is certainly not true either. He said they were ambushed by raiders after they fled Pittsburgh. I'm sure they didn't escape them, they ate them and they certainly weren't raiders. He just wanted to have Ellie's trust. He wanted to be her good new "father". The father of the girl Joel killed will always be with her. After all, mommy cooked him well. And of course, David has real penicillin for Ellie. They don't want to eat infected meat. It bothered me at first that none of the people of the city showed up at the end. But of course, the rest of the people didn't realize what was going on. The weather is shit and cold. They will sit in their houses and scrape the remains of the girls daddy out of their teeth. Okay, enough macabre. 😁 I also think it's cool and urgently needed that the torture scene actually showed us explicitly how Joel has proceeded over the last 20 years. This was the first time it was really shown why everyone was afraid of Joel in episode 1. This is Joel we know and he liked it. This is Joel when Ellie is not with him. Troy Baker (Game Joel) as James was sensationell good. I didn't think that one day I would have to see Ellie kill Joel. A nice Tess callback from Ellie in the conversation with David. "Your (our) luck had to run out sooner or later." were Tess's words shortly before she had shown Joel her bite. There will be properly another timejump. At the beginning of the next episode they will already be in Salt Lake City. Also, we'll see Ashley Johnson, who was Ellie in the game.
Ellie is a boss! Her and Joel are partners now. Yep that entire interrogation scene with Joel and the two guys is in the game. It’s rated M for Mature so it’s definitely not for kids even though I’m sure plenty kids have played it
The game is totally worth it, it's an amazing game. If you're not an experienced gamer you can lower the game's difficulty, so that you can still play and enjoy the story. There are some big differences between the game and the series, so believe me, there will be surprises for you. If you play it, you need to upload your playthrough to your channel, it'd be awesome. If you play the first game you also need to play the second game !
I think it would be fun to see you post gameplays but if you’ve never played a video game before you might not want to start with the last of us. It’s an intense game. If you want to play a zombie game I would recommend season one of telltale’s the walking dead. It’s a narrative based game that has limited gameplay that would be a good way for someone to get accustomed to using a controller. All the telltale games are like that. My favorite is the wolf among us.
Hi Pilar. I also think you really should play the game! There are enough differences in the game that it's still interesting even if you know the general story.
Pilar: "I wonder if they eat people? Imagine if they ate people?" Also Pilar, minutes later: (sees unidentified meat chunks) "Yum! Yum yum yum yum!" 🤣 Yes you called it. But then you "yum"'d at the human flesh 🤣
"Maybe he's nice." That didn't age well or long. "Yum. Yum, yum, yum, yum. Ooph didn't age well either. 🤣🤣🤣 There is already a 2nd season green lit. There was a second game as well. The first season covers game one. The Second will cover game two. And yeah PC version is supposed to be realeased the end of the month. I'd say it is worth playing even if you know how it ends. There is a lot of gameplay between what we see in the series.
Hell yeah! So excited for the finale. I’m hoping they do the game justice (which they have been so far) since the last 10ish minutes of the game is one of my favourite pieces of media of all time
I enjoy reactions from ppl who haven't played the game. But the game was better than the show, and it's brutal. For first game at least. Havent played the second one yet because no multiplayer. Prolly need to play it before 2nd season. But its not necessary to enjoy the show.
I can't really make a valid suggestion about whether to play the game after watching the show, because I don't play video games either really. But I can only offer this piece of logic; the strength of the game, from what I hear, is the storytelling.. and you're already getting the story from the show. So it might not hit the same as it did for people experiencing it first while playing. People who love the game are gonna say it's still worth it, though.
@@TopNotchStoner Depends if she wants to spoil future seasons of the show for her by going that far ahead. My guess is she wouldn't want to, but if she's good with that, more power to her.
@@jdovma1 Yeah, that's definitely true. I'd only recommend playing the games first for people who enjoy games more than tv. As a gamer, I'm glad I played the games first, but I doubt she'd feel the same way.

Wow Pilar is observant, I've watched other reactions and she's the only one to point out something about the ring.
Great reactions as always.
An an apocalypse, zombies aren't the only monsters.
They have greenlit a 2nd season and announced it. The show runners have said their plan is for season 2-3 to cover the 2nd game (the 2nd game is a twice as long story)
If they get to the point that season 3 is done and HBO still wants more, and they haven’t released the 3rd game yet, they said they would be open to an anthology series following other characters in this world.
All that said, the first game’s story was originally a definitive end because at the time they didn’t anticipate it would succeed and get sequels.
Heartbreaking, infuriating, adrenalizing...perfect television.
Play the game, Pilar. I will definitely watch.
"Baby girl" really got me. 😥
Hello. This series has pretty much stayed true to the game. So everything you’ve seen so far has been in the game. Plus they added even more for the show. Give the game a try if you get a chance. There’s also a part 2 to the game.
wow you got it from the start, youre so smart. 👏
There is definitely a 2nd season. I have heard rumors of a 3rd game which would lead to a 3rd season.
That little girl unknowingly ate her own father
Great reaction vid
You should stream your playthrough. It would be interesting to watch, not just for reaction in comparing the game to the show, but because you've never played a video game before. Lol.
Pillar is so friggin pretty
Gracias por tu reacción!
There's a lot more content in the game than in the TV series, so there will be many more surprises for you. And lots more infected and action too.
I wouldn't show any mercy to the guys sent out to bring back my corpse so they could eat it either.I think a lot of people forgot that about the guy's that Joel interrogated and killed.
"Is this in the video game?" Yes.
Exacto. Marzo 28, The Last of Us para PC :D No sé porque rcomento en español, pero works :D
Maybe he's nice, 🤣🤣🤣🤣. Are you ready for this Sunday's last episode Pilar?
@@pilarslittlestudio Likewise I'm excited to see it but then I know it's going to be a long wait for the next season.
Oh hello! I remember you from the lords of the rings movie reactions. nice new channel you got here. subbed
@@pilarslittlestudio No worries. Last I remembered you had just moved country and then covid hit and you was having a pretty hard time being in a new place and being locked down. Hope you have settled and are having a better time :) All the best.
Pilar, the video game is definitely not a children's game, like at all. Soooooo still want to play it on pc?!😉
Imo it's worth playing even if you just play it for yourself offline. It's well worth it and if you feel emotions in this tv series you will feel them even more in the video game.
Amazing reaction thanks so much Pilar🥰I'm with you I will riot and boycott the awards shows with you if they don't get all the nominations and awards!😉🙂
Yessssss..... tienes que jugar de todas maneras el videojuego¡¡¡¡ y grabarlo para verlo nosotros .. xfavor ¡¡¡¡¡¡ 😃😄😃🎊🎊
if you want to play the video game I suggest you play part two as you have already seen the first one in the series although playing it wouldn't be bad, however the game is rated 18+ so is normal that it's brutal even in the video game, to answer your question 👍❤️
I would be too cold to bury the body, but it's so cold that the body wouldn't spoil either.
great call on the cannibalism based on a few small clues! #sherlock
In that moment, starvation for Joel and Ellie was less of a threat than Joel dying of his infection.
@@rickbruner5525 not the point of my comment at all.
"If you lost in the darkness, look for the light"
If Ellie was the light in the darkness, there is not much left of it now.
I also think it's cool and urgently needed that the torture scene actually showed us explicitly how Joel has proceeded over the last 20 years.
The games are waaaaaay more violent and brutal
Ellie is a boss! Her and Joel are partners now.
Yep that entire interrogation scene with Joel and the two guys is in the game. It’s rated M for Mature so it’s definitely not for kids even though I’m sure plenty kids have played it
Yes please play the first game.
Joel is an even colder individual in the game imho.
Yeah, unpopular opinion but Troy baker is the better joel and Bella ramsey is the better ellie
Pilar: "I wonder if they eat people? Imagine if they ate people?"
Also Pilar, minutes later: (sees unidentified meat chunks) "Yum! Yum yum yum yum!"
🤣 Yes you called it. But then you "yum"'d at the human flesh 🤣
Yummy yummy unidentified meat chunks! 😋
Baby girl 😢. Brutal episode
There is a lot of gameplay between what we see in the series.
season 2 is already green lit
Yes, you should play. If it's your first game definitely play on easy and give yourself a chance to learn.
saludos desde Costa Rica!!, todo eso está en el video juego
I can't really make a valid suggestion about whether to play the game after watching the show, because I don't play video games either really. But I can only offer this piece of logic; the strength of the game, from what I hear, is the storytelling.. and you're already getting the story from the show. So it might not hit the same as it did for people experiencing it first while playing. People who love the game are gonna say it's still worth it, though.
Yeah, but there's also a second game, which is absolutely amazing.
Great reactions, always great to see a non game player react. . I would say play Part I alone, but play Part II with reactions.
The game is brutal. This ain't no Pac Man.
Damn. Nailed the creepy people eaters right off the bat. Pilar is astute. Asssss toot. 😜
You want to aim for the lungs generally for hunting. A very large target with guarantee quick death
