Thanks for the video. The biggest problem I'm having with my T-291 is drifting off frequency on FM. If you use it outside you have to fiddle with it constantly as the temperature changes. AM performance is pretty good with the large ferrite bar antenna. Using a Select-A-Tenna only provides a small improvement in AM reception but an alignment could probably help. I must have one of the few that actually works on SW. It can pick up WWV in several bands depending on time of day. This is using it outdoors of course - in the house there's too much interference.
I see on the board of mine that I (think) there’s space for a couple of filters. One is obviously bypassed with a jumper. It would be interesting to investigate.
well the AM antenna is pretty large and should be sensitive. I live in an area where AM DX'ing does not get much. Sometimes I get LA and sometimes Salt Lake City. My experience may not be yours. one could fiddle with the tuning cap or the IF transformers. but I mean it works pretty good on AM and FM so I probably won't mess with mine. I have read that the chip in this is not designed for SW so an external antenna would probably make that worse. maybe with a filter to block the AM band it might work better.

SW works best I found outside, I live in Ontario, Canada near Ottawa and I was pulling in some Mexican Station, I was like What is this, lol

When i was young i got a crystal radio and i connected it to the steel clothesline (was 75 feet long) and the signal was outstanding!

The FM external antenna does not seem to do anything on mine.
