that kid with the stank face is aaron and he is a dope bassist actually! Also gotta give respect to domi on the keys. She is a berklee grad and an absolute mastermind on those keys.
Big names in that gathering! Also, interestingly, Domi, the keyboard player, like most smart, and accomplished musicians, has been playing since she could begin to play... From Nancy, France (?) Was planning to choose some famous academy in her home country, or go to Berkeley, and decided to go to Berkeley! Received full scholarship! (Domitille Degalle - and James Dennis Beck aka DOMi and JD Beck [from Dallas, TX])
Man, you've gotta check out Louis Cole's drumming. He plays in the same circles as all of these musicians. I'd recommend KNOWER's (his band) live sets, Clowncore (he's the drummer), or even his solo drum TH-cam videos. He's so good.
These two, DOMi _&_ JD Beck, have recently totally captured my attention.... Complex music that is somehow still very accessible. And like you say in this performance _:_ whatever instrument you pay attention to draws you in. I'd also like to suggest you check out a young very up and coming drummer named Yoyoka who's skills are being praised by many well known drummers and musicians all over the world. Her cover of _YYZ_ by Rush when she was 10 or 11 would be a good place to start. From there if you're interested, her enthusiastic fan base will make suggestions of what performances to check out next.
Thank you. A pleasure to listen to a fresh opinion from a professional. Yes he is so young jet can perfrorm such a peculiar frantic style using a drum kit sound kind of 'bad', dry, almost electronic, without sound sustain ... I love it.
As impressive as this already is, his other stuff with Domi are far more impressive. He is actually put out of his own element here, but he still shined thru.
@@scladoffle2472 actually, all the arrangements for these Zildjian performances were done by Sput Searight, who’s JD mentor, hence the kerfuffle between them in the beginning. This sounds more like Ghost Note material than anything JD and Domi do.
@@scladoffle2472 okay relax bro lol. I went off “general” knowledge. You have to admit tho, this performance don’t represent the essence of what JD and Domi do
@@scladoffle2472 I admitted my mistake and here we still are….ANYWAY, can we just nerd out please? They must’ve wrote it like the day before, cuz notice that little hiccup in JD’s solo near the end? It looked like he felt they were done, but nope, there’s more!
Hell YEAh, you totally agree with that kid! HAhhhahahahahaha! That's JD's little brother. I can only anticipate what he will do! The drummer is his brother, listen to MONO NEON, the bass player right before the KID made that Face! Hahahaha, I'm Loving this!
If you like this check out Yussef Kamaal Black Focus and other stuff by Kamaal Williams and Yussef Dayes. Williams is the keyboardist, Dayes a great drummer
This is cool but three stuff with just him and DOMi is actually much more interesting. And not to take away from him, but he stands in the shoulders of Jojo Mayer.
I just watched you do a reaction to Disturbed, "Sound Of Silence", and would like to suggest another great talent for you to react to. She has about 130 covers on TH-cam, along with 4 originals and 2 others that were written for her to sing. Just a couple months ago, she was signed by Republic Records as a "high priority" new talent. She supposedly has over 7 billion views on TH-cam and Facebook, and all this with her turning just 15 years old on this Sunday, the 10th. Oh, and she won Norways Got Talent when she was 8 years old. She entered when she was 7, and when the Finals rolled around, she had turned 8. She just released a new song after signing with Republic, that she wrote, called "Million Miles". th-cam.com/video/3KxvwuZ7oEM/w-d-xo.html A Norwegian duo that does Electronic Dance Music featured her on a song called "Above The Water" th-cam.com/video/rpdHJJQAd9Y/w-d-xo.html If you ask a dozen of her fans what cover they enjoy the most, you will probably get a dozen different answers, but the one with the most views is her cover of Screaming Jay Hawkins 1956 original, "I Put A Spell On You", when she was 9 years old. (the black and white video) th-cam.com/video/nwFloCPXzCs/w-d-xo.html You could try one of those, or just search for her and pick a song you really like. Her name is Angelina Jordan, and she will be a superstar in the very near future. Oh... she did a demo of a song called "I'm Still Holding Out For You" that was written by Baby Fuzz. He didn't know about the demo until after he released his version, but someone got hold of the copy and leaked it. In my opinion, it is an excellent song, from when she was 10. th-cam.com/video/Dv8mjCh5iiE/w-d-xo.html Just like "Field of Dreams", if you react to her, her fans will come, and we are thousands.
JD Beck is real-life Aphex Twin drums.
I'd say Tom Jenkinson, but hell yeah!
more squarepusher (yes Tom J)or venetians snares drums in my opinion
so true ..
I love Aphex Twin

domi and jd beck stuff is filthy
JD is such a great young talent and someone that marches to his own drummer! Really creative.
Bryan, I enjoyed your review and reaction to JD Beck. Will be seeking out your videos.

If you look closely, Mono Neon, the basssist, is playing his bass up side down.
pretty much always does

You need two things to play like JD Beck. 1-Various inanimate objects placed on the drumheads. 2-Be JD Beck.
Or be Louis Cole

Lot's of Snarky Puppy members in that constellation too. Plus the great MonoNeon.
Came for the reaction, subbed for the pork chops.
If you got pork chops on that level I would def love to taste 'em lmao. good joke. ^^

Please sit down in front and stop talking over the music.
This is NOT nice, it's an affront to space in music.
