Wow! Really loved this video. Beautifully shot with a pithy script and a great snapshot of the diversity of a clearly unique and thriving community. I loved seeing so many different aspects of it brought to life and so great to see a community thriving after the devastations of civil war and the tsunami. It's now top of my list of places to go to and books to read. Great idea to focus on the people more than the location as so often in the past a lack of appreciation for the former has resulted in the ruination of wonderful people and places.

This is so beautiful, it made me long to be back in Sri Lanka again. Juliet, your script is wonderful. It and the scenes capture the real essence of this magical place on this magical island. I'm so glad to have met you and to be including you in my new book 'Only In Sri Lanka', to be published in Australia in 2015.

Such a moving story. Even though I have been to Galle Fort 3 times since 1970,I learned facts that I never knew about the place. the history of the people is so fascinating. There was a Jewish community in the 11th century AD. I wonder whether they are still around?

Initially 450 years ago the first family who came to Galle Fort was the Magdon Ismail's.
    Now it's thier 5th generation.
