@@latifb.5988 He's talking about the first two games. 9-9 first game, and he was up 8-6 second game, that's very close..He just kind of lost it mentally after that second game..
The way you should always play Hugo, focused and consistent, without rushing or trying to kill everything all the time. A more mature Hugo won, congrats! Vamos Brazil!
I wish he was like that more often. Sometimes he can be so amazing like he should be beating the Chinese at a 30-40% ratio, but he's so up and down and not always making the best decisions. Sometimes he just starts making so many errors and turns into another player. I know he play high risk so it can happen, but I've noticed more ups and downs from him than most at that level..
Hugo amazing player he just doesn’t have consistency, one tournament he can lose to number 30 in world and sometimes beat number 2-5 just unpredictable
Felix violates service rule 2.6.4 every serve. His 2 service giveaways in this short match might be karma for consciously cheating. The only bigger service cheater is Wang Chuquin. Both Wang and Felix contact the ball on their serve forward of their backline clearly violating this rule. The fact that Hugo dominated Felix is a credit to his service receiving skills. I don't know what advantage it is to violate 2.6.4, but if the rule isn't being enforced it should be removed from the rulebook. ITTF ... this illegal serve is intuitively obvious to the most casual observer. My 9 year old granddaughter properly called every illegal serve Felix committed. Why can't the ITTF officials?
@@ericzeigler8669 Having just watch about 12 of Félix's serves frame by frame I suspect that you're full of shit. In not a single one of them did he contact the ball over the table. But be explicit, on which services do you see this happening?

I wouldnt say he is unstable at that level but he in general has a difficult time coming back from behind. He is a front runner. Some players just are like that. That takes also mental strenght. Problem imo is that players able to easily come back from near hopeless situations like Boll are very calm collected players. Now think about if Lebrun is calm and collected 😁
No, it was tactics. The same tactic that worked against Alexis and even FZD. Hugo's touchplay, esp. on receive, was just on point. 2/3 of passive shots was into short forehand and all opponents had to step in and were too late for flick. Hugo gets a long ball and opens up. Receive and even 3rd balls. Rest is just magic by Hugo - genius.
@@listrahtes he is a pretty strong player mentally most of the time, if a bit of a slow-starter. Came back from 2-0 against Hugo in Goa. But not this time. Too tired, could not find the extra stamina and focus to turn things around. People tend to believe it's always a question of tactics and prowesses. Felix did World Championships in Busan, Smash in Singapore, French National Championships in Montpellier and Champions Incheon. Lots of matches and emotions, this is tough on the mind and the body. He's only 17 yo after all!
Big win for Hugo. It was a close match until Felix broke down mentally.

There is no other pro player on this level who does as many serve errors as the Lebrun brothers
They would do less, if they would take a bit more time between the points i think.
