Books brought me to BTS. I was reading a series with a Korean character and the author put me onto BTS. Unfortunately my reading has decreased because i now spend so much time following the boys but fortunately I'm having a great time. I hope RM encourages more people to read and enter the wonderful world of literature.
I used to absorb books. I adored reading. Since getting hooked on BTS content (and RM in particular), I read less, and instead watch BTS. But if RM found time to read with his hectic schedule, then I should be able to find the time too. Good reading, Joonie!
When you read while you are with other ppl you separate yourself from those around you. Not those around you have your attention, the writer or ideas of the book has. Reading in such a situation also means: leave me alone. And the members do leave RM alone (most of the time anyway, lol). Apart from gaining knowledge, new ideas or pleasure I assume it is also RM's DEFENCE against being swallowed up by the group's interactions/activities. The interactions may be fun but he would always be reacting to others, couldn't "feel" himself, follow his own associations and images, be himself in himself. Remember how dissatisfied RM was after playing table tennis a lot of the time in ITS 1. For Yoongi writing songs might have a similar function. Lol, I am not saying books can't swallow you up as well, but those don't seem the type of books RM reads.
In the first clip it was A bigger message: Conversations with David Hockney by Martin Gayford The second one may be Midnight library by Matt Haig Don't know the third one Fourth one was Almond Sohn Won pyung Next one is The soul of a tree: A woodworker's reflections by George Nakashima Another one they were talking about was Guns, germs and steel by Jared Diamond The art book was "modern Korean art through paintings: dream of image by Kang sung won That red book was Platon Phaidros Menon by Plato
