Love the politeness! More families need to teach this! Ty for the review. We’re looking into buying one. However, I don’t want one if I can’t use regular freezer ziplock bags. I don’t want to buy special bags. After figuring cost and how long I’d freeze items, it’s not worth the money! I buy meat from Sams, separate it all into portions. However, much of my meat is only in my freezer for a month to 3 months. So buying special bags or materials is not cost efficient! Do the math! I obviously looked at the special bags and rolls, they are very expensive and you don’t really get that many. So.... in the long term, not looking at this as cost efficient!

So I just bought this exact model today at Costco. And I’ll be honest I was ready to throw that thing out the window because I couldn’t figure out how to get it to work the way I wanted it to. Definitely operator error LOL and I watched quite a few videos on TH-cam about it. But I have to say this is the video that helped me and allowed me to be able to vacuum seal 6 pounds a hamburger. I just want to say thank you for putting it up it was a great help and I would probably still be wrestling with this thing LOL

The downside to food saver is that you can't vacuum pack soups or liquids and the bags are expensive.. It works out be about .05 to .06 cents an inch. Using a machine like the vac master Vp215 for example which forces air out of spaced area and then seals when the air is vacuum out is much more effective and you can get a 1000 bags for $ 30.00.. thats .03 cents a bag not by the inch.. if you are doing alot of vacuum sealing then this would the way to go. If you just a casual type then the food saver is the way to go.

Good review. I like the ziplock bags that came with the machine as samples. I love the gouda from Costco. I split the massive piece of cheese into four pieces and use sealed bag for each of the three pieces. The fourth piece goes into the ziplock bag and then it is vacuumed. When I want some cheese I simply open the bag, get what we need and just reseal the ziplock. The cheese stays fresh far longer then just sticking it into a ziplock bag and back into the fridge. Run out of cheese in the ziplock? No problem, just open a sealed bag, get some gouda and shove that piece into the ziplock bag and seal. Fresh gouda is just so gooda.
i dont know it but i saw a nother review (of a nother brand and moddel) the made a point of saying tha you can wash out the bags ( i asume from vegabel and meat not sauce) and then reuse em otherwis nice review Best regards Kris M

i am looking to buy this to seal up prepped food as in breakfast english muffins and breakfast burritos. Will this machine work with smaller bags like English muffin size if I bought say a 6in roll of the bag paper
I goto a butcher and buy my meats and I noticed my just bought $60 sealer has a hard time sealing anything with too much liquid like fresh fish, chilled shrimp, marinated meats, tomatoes, onions. The sealer has no drip tray. Does this sealer do well with any of these items. How does it work with the drip tray?

This will not seal sauces, stews or anything liquid. For those you must freeze beforehand. Consider a Vacmaster chamber sealer.

The shortest rolls I have found are 8 inches.
BTW, it isn't paper. It's plastic.
Turn the Roll the other way up and then it is more manageable.
Do you still use this sealer? If so, has it been reliable?
FoodSaver does the same thing printer manufacturers do they sell you the unit cheap and charge you out the a$$ for bags/ ink
