For years I have been listening to Mark Knopfler's version of this song, usually late at night when the city is quiet and everybody sleeps so that I can turn down the volume on my headphones. I want to make ready for when the music starts to fade out so that I can prolong the inevitable ending by slowly turning up the volume, always wishing Mark would have gone on just 5 minutes more with that beautiful solo. And now I have found this. Just as beautiful as Mark himself and you do go on. Still in the end I wish you would have gone on for just 5 minutes longer and I don’t think it’s just me.

Mark Knopfler is God. No one can be as good or better than Mark Knopfler. But this is cutting things damn close. I mean seriously, this is smooth. All the notes and sequences I love in the original version solo are there, but there's some excellent originality here too. I don''t care that this isn't MK, it's a 10/10 for me. I could do with the guitar volume being a little higher, but not by much. The whole sound is pretty well balanced as it is.
I'm 55 and grew up on Dire Straits. I'm going thru a phase in which I'm consuming anything that has to do with them. Man, I have to tell you that your renditions are spot on, almost indistinguishable, and leaves us with a great new take and flavor on these gems. i mean, seriously! how do you do it? This has to be the most epic Dire Straits cover ever made, seriously. I love how you catch that nostalgic feeling of the song, the endless details from Mark's playing... Believe me, as a guitarist, I know HOW HARD are some things you do in the video. First I was expecting a normal cover, but then I saw that you were playing Alchemy/Live version with variations... Well, nothing to say.

What an exquisite rendition of this masterpiece. Truly can't fault it, superb. The tone, the feeling, the melodic nuances, it's all here. I have only ever heard two cover versions that come even remotely close to the sound and feeling of the original, and this is definitely one of them. Although this one has become my favourite by some margin. I'm sure Mark would be honoured that people like yourself put in so much effort and dedication to emulate his genius to such a high standard. @@jlbuenomeandro Hi Jose. Yes it was! My son was only a few months old and we watched it together whilst I was feeding him his bottle. The entire video had been on continuous replay for tne first his few years and he grew up appreciating their music as much as i did and still do. Timeless music!
