      Thank you Seb, the ferries at Cairnryan are like a mini truckfest, always a great variety and the Irish/N. Irish are always spot on with their lorry customisation!

    A&F, that's a great location for filming. It's good to see Lucy and McBurney in their own livery and not in nondescript DFDS white.
    Thank you for that video.

      Thank you for watching Colin, we were glad to see lots of liveried McBurneys that day, although a few DFDS managed to sneak in there

    Another great location lads, plenty of Bonnie wagons on the 75, I used to run that road in the 80s, no speed limiters then, quite a frightening road at night, that’s when I drove it through the night.
    So glad it was nice and dry for you filming, bet you wondered what was happening when that wagon came into the layby.
    Once again, thank you so much for uploading this great footage.
    Kind regards,
    Johnny

      I, too, used to travel the old 75 every week, Basildon to Castlereagh, that was before all the towns and villages were by-passed. Used to stop at the log cabin at Gatehouse, I think I used to buy jars of honey. I can also remember the Irish lads holding back if there was word on the vine that the weighbridge at Dunragit was manned! Happy days, mate, best wishes.
      PS If you drove it through the night you may have been one if those Irish lads on a Moss trailer change?

      Johnny and Colin, sounds like you have some great memories of days gone by, you both must have so many fascinating stories from your careers! If only we could have made a video like this back then, to showcase ‘proper’ lorries with manual gearboxes, no fancy driver comfort features or cruise control, and great sounding engines that haven’t been held back by emissions regulations… although there were a few Scanias with loud exhaust pipes in this video… Thank you both so much for watching and commenting! Also Johnny, we still don’t know why he pulled into the field entrance we were parked in, or what he said out of the window…
      Kind Regards,
      A&F.

      A&F; fascinating but memorable stories, too right!
      My A75 days from Basildon to Belfast were in a day-cabbed Seddon Atkinson with a 180 Gardner under my seat and a board over it on which I slept for up to five nights a week!
      I didn't know anything better and I was enjoying doing what I always dreamed of doing, driving trucks. That's why your videos are so welcome!!
      Keep it up!

    Did they stop for you at 3:00?

    • @scottish.truckspotting
      @scottish.truckspotting  วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Yes, he pulled in, said something unintelligible out the window, we asked him to say again because we didn’t hear him, but he just shrugged his arms and drove away 🤔

    Why do almost all trucks have the same horn?? 😂

    • @georgemerrick7728
      @georgemerrick7728 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      That’s just the standard horn European trucks are equipped with, apart from the MAN’s which for some stupid reason have a horn worse than the one on my 01’ VW polo 😂
