This is a complete Step by step guide on building a budget friendly seat with custom outriggers for a sit-on-top kayak
You'll get more stability with the outriggers being extended as you have them installed but I can already see where they'll be hit when paddling. Maybe making them shorter so that they contact the side of the kayak would be better. The shorter PVC would be stiffer so less flex. Just food for thought.
Right, I can see where you're coming from. I thought about drilling more holes across the main outrigger shafts for more adjustment options. The way it currently sits I don't have too many paddling issues unless I'm fully extending. I appreciate your insight and I'll most definitely consider making adjustments. Thanks for watching.
Cool way to mount the seat and outriggers, might do this on my kayak!
Hey thanks. It certainly helped my kayak performs better and it's much more comfortable now.
Great video, thank you
I'm stoked you enjoyed the video and happy I could help. Thanks for watching.
Wow very awesome
I'm glad you liked it. Thank you.
Nice job 👍
That's awesome man! So glad this upgrade guide was helpful for you. Thank you.
I wonder if a strong current will compromise the rod holder and break off
That's a concern as well. I've only taken it out on lakes, but I thought about making adjustments along the outrigger shafts to bring them in and out for different scenarios and reduce tension on the holders.
🤔 ok
