Stallone contacted them and had them write this song for Expendables. The only thing he requested was for it to include the phrase "Boom-Lay Boom-Lay Boom". The phrase came from a poem that Stallone liked.
Brent Smith has one of the best voices in Rock without a doubt. I used to live around the Orlando area in Central Florida. I've seen them perform in small clubs and huge festivals and everything in between. They performed at the Earthday Birthday festival in Orlando in 2004 (I think). I took all my kids to the show. They were the first evening band on the setlist. There had to be something like 50,000 people there and Brent asked the crowd if anyone believed Rock was dead. Of course, the answer was NO! Always great performances. So, yeah, they have been around a while. They have several memorable albums, too. Leave a Whisper, Us and Them, and The Sound of Madness are their early ones if you want to check out more of their music. They grew up with Lynyrd Skynyrd as their hometown heroes. They have a great cover of Simple Man that is included on the extended version of Leave a Whisper. I highly recommend that one. Also from the same album, 45 is a great song and Fly From The Inside.
You need to listen to their cover of Simple Man. You really get to hear what Brent Smith can do. One of the most underrated vocalist in rock in my opinion. Keep it up, love y’all’s channel!
When he said "everyone of us are expendable " I thought it would have sparked your memories lol. Shinedown isn't as heavy as what you guys are used to but they are a great rock band.
For the 40th anniversary of Billboard Magazine's Mainstream Rock Chart, they listed Shinedown as the best mainstream rock band of all time. I heard somewhere that at that time Shinedown had released 31 singles, all of them had made the top 10 on that chart with 20 of them going to number one. Numbers may have improved since then as I believe this was a couple of years ago. For a slower song that really shows the lead singer's amazing voice, check out "Second Chance." When you were talking about the movie this song was tied to, you had a lot of the stars right and some wrong. This video was from the first "Expendables" movie, and Stone Cold Steve Austin was in that film. You must have just forgotten him. He wasn't one of the main characters. He was the sidekick/enforcer for the main bad guy in the film which was played by Eric Roberts. Wesley Snipes was not in it, but he was in the third "Expendables" movie. Vin Diesel has never been in any of them. The fourth film in the series hasn't come out yet. It's coming out this September.
Love Shinedown❤ they are biggest rock band out there. Getting bigger every year for 20yrs. 2 videos you should do off their latest album Planet 🌎 Zero DEAD 💀 DONT DIE & Symptom of being human. Diamond Eyes 👀 has to be 10 yrs old. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
