Will try this on kitchen floor with dents from dropping cans. Thankful for you post this. My challenge will be removing the dirt from the dents. Any suggestions?
This looks like magic!! Great work. I JUST finished sanding, staining, and poly-ing a table and then 3 huge dents shortly after. Should I try this method even with two thing coats of water based poly?
I tried 900 clear with a golden oak floor gouge but it dried white, visible from across the room. It could be that clear is only applicable for dark tones, or that the scratch or gouge must be very shallow for it to be effective. I do like the method though and will retry with a matching tone.
My dog just danced on top of one of my coffee tables last night and embedded some nice nail marks on it. I'm going to use this method to try and fix it. Thanks for the video.
I have the same dents as you are showing probably not as deep, would this solution work on any type of wood flooring since yours seems thicker than the ones I have ?
Clean area, apply wax to soldering iron, use melted/melting wax to fill hole, let it dry, sand it smooth/spatual(ize) it, look results and when satisfied repaint/finish etc.
Thanks for the video. What is that tool called which you use to pick the wax and melt it in the dents? Also what if the dent is deep enough to show white wood? Do you still use light colored wax?
Will this work on a smooth walnut table? When you sand it, won't it scratch the rest of the table?. I just want to fix the deep scratch not damage the rest of the finish. I would appreciate any help with this.
Hello. Do not worry. The wax does not scratch the surface. If you use a professional plastic spatula, everything will be fine. The main thing is not to grind with metal. What damage do you have?
My refrigerator left small dent lines on the hardwood floor. Will this process work for that? The lines dents are not that deep, but there are no scratches. Thanks
Can I email you a photo of a dark grey scratch on my floor (it’s about the same or a little darker than the plank flooring) and you advise me how to restore or repair it please?
I wish he had a video for how to fix light surface scratches that did not penetrate the color. I have a wood surface that the topcoat got lightly scratched but is not deep and did not remove color., not sure how to take it out without harming the finish.
Hi, Last month my kids played with water in the kitchen sink I didn't clean after they played. The water dropped from sides the wooden cupboard edges are coming out now . Please give me some tips how can I repair that one.
@@TheRestorercan't access the video. I have a few very deep dents and a few smaller dents on my hardwood floor after a couch with a metal bottom was dragged across it! Several things have been tried and nothing worked. It now has 3 coats of clear varathane gloss on it and the dents look worse. How can I fill them in and make the dents look less obvious? Thx, 🤞
Thank you for sharing this technique. The results are fabulous! I’m wondering if you can help me understand if this technique will be appropriate for my current project. I’m planning on reoiling an old walnut furniture piece. I was hoping to fix some of the dents with this technique but is this wax process compatible with tung oil? The item doesn’t have any varnish or protective coating like that and I’d like to keep with the original oil finish. Thanks for sharing your expertise with us.
Only if the wax feels comfortable coming out, it is not our right to force it to come out if it is not ready to, but to support the wax with it's choices.

I think that it would be better to do the other method and that is putting a wet cloth over the dent and then use a steam iron on it to lift the dented part up.. no wax needed..

Yes, try restoring them. Solid transparent is intended for this.

After sanding, the white effect disappears. The white effect could be due to insufficient temperature. Heat at a higher temperature during application
Great video I am just wondering, why clear wax and not one with similar colour to the wood? I am trying to fix my kitchen wooden table.
That's amazing! Does this method work on a chair top (lots of contacts and rubs) too?

I saw your link is to a matt spray lacquer. Is that right for a laminate floor (touching up, post repair)?
I have the same dents as you are showing probably not as deep, would this solution work on any type of wood flooring since yours seems thicker than the ones I have ?
when do you think one should use clear hard wax instead of the colored ones (that match the color of the wood)?

I used a similar product from Mohawk. What brand are those burn in sticks ? Cause I can’t find clear in Mohawk
