zar is originally a pagan ritual of primitive african tribes. It was transmitted from abyssinia to sudan and from there to Egypt and from Egypt to the rest of the Arab countries. It is believed that summoning the spirits of ancestors, masters, and sheikhs and fulfilling their requests or reincarnating their spirits may lead to the healing of patients who are possessed by jinn

@@IDONTEVENKNOW33 Somalis are Muslims yet practice this (unorthodox and behind closed doors) and call it "Saar" or "Saaris" (exorcism). This was one of the cultural practices from East Africa that influenced North African culture. Meanwhile, circumcision, (both male and female) originated in Egypt and was brought to the rest of Africa. So these cultural-exchanges goes both ways (North-South and South-North).

they are not muslims , a lot of muslims sheikhs forbids these rituals . The zar originated from african tribes and then reached a part of egyptian muslim community and integrated with them (the simplest explanation is that Zar is not an arabic word)...@@ThirdProletariat

Просто отвязные танцы... Но когда это делают религиозные деятели, это экзорцизм, а когда просто люди - это сатанизм и бесовщина.
