As someone who is bigger than Travis I can tell you that rage rooms get nervous with people our size. We can genuinely break things that aren't meant to be broken, hand a 6'6 300lb man a 20lb sledge and they can take down a building.
I relate to Liam more and more each episode. Even without being a parent or a man or an actor or a DnD player or an american. Objectively we have nothing in common yet I relate to so many of the things he talks about.
Brian Foster can't call the police, it violates the restraining order the LAPD has against him. They had to outsource his probation officer, and that's why he's at the old Mr. Chicken every 3rd Monday of the month. I wonder if Max asks him to pick him up a 3 piece with waffle fries when they drop him off in the CR company VW Microbus
Finding out that the CR crew have a group chat that they use to just talk about dumb internet content makes me happier than I expected it would. I'm always curious how they all interact off-camera, so it's always nice to see that they're good friends even outside of the game.
Trae Vega Well, not to sound condescending, but yeah, the game started off camera and most of them have known each other for years. Besides, it's pretty apparent none of them are the type to put on a face for the sake of views.
Both of my groups have that too so I think it is pretty common for tabletop RPG groups. Also it is good to give them some privacy - just a shoutout to whole community to don't cross that line.
Oh, I know. But they've turned their hobby into a business, and that can change dynamics in a group pretty drastically. It's just nice to get little reminders that it hasn't changed things too much.
The only time I have EVER seen Sam not smiling was when he couldn't save Vax from his final fate. Like dude was completely broken about that shit it was JARRING.
That moment, Percy's resurrection, and "What's my mother's name". The three main "oh fuck Sam Riegel's smile is GONE" moments in Campaign 1* - aaaand cue all the tears. *(haven't seen all of the others yet so I can't say!)
As an Englander, I'm glad you pointed out the fact that America seem to think we're either posh or street rats and there can be no middle ground. It's bizarre. I guess we think you're all Texan, Minnesotan or Floridian though, so it balances.
It's weird how Americans do English accents posh a lot more than they do Orks from Warhammer (AKA "dirtier" accents), in my experience (also from England) There's a bunch more Street rat-esque accents than posh ones.
I can't let a discussion of the American ear for English accents go by without including this link for anyone who hasn't seen it: th-cam.com/video/CfmChkOXgvw/w-d-xo.html
I wonder what British people think of the Yinzer (Pittsburgh) accent. It's kind of like the American version of one of the Scottish accents. Cajun or Appalachian would probably the American version of one of the Welsh accents.
This episode makes me wanna see these 2 after they spend an hour in a sensory deprivation tank. I feel like Liam would be fine and Sam would just be a little bored.
yea, that'd be interesting. Not sure if they could do a whole episode on the tanks, but something i'd like to see. those tanks are awesome to be inside
Ugh I love everything this channel has been doing. All Work No Play, Between the Sheets, Handbooker Helper is adorably well done even for seasoned DnD players. Just everything is dklvehbvikeubaa.
Evija3000 they wouldn’t have to play every part of the characters, they’d just have to try to get through the situation as their characters. Obviously Liam doesn’t have a perfect memory, but he could just act like Caleb would in this situation.
Critical Role is the best channel ever. Got the main game, now this! Also Sam just love to poop, on toilets, beds, temples, you name it he's shat on it.
Every episode of All Work No Play reminds me that if Liam and Sam did a production of Waiting For Godot, each night the first three rows would die of awesome.
My uncle passed away in August. Since he lived in another province (I'm Canadian) we didn't see each other much, but the thing I always remember about his visits was his love of star gazing. He would bring out his telescope and show us the the different constellations or planets. Now, whenever I take a look at the stars (luckily on a clear night, I can see a lot of stars from my front yard) I think of him and I always feel at peace. I am glad that you and I have that in common Liam.
To turn yourself into a crypt creature, no need to have kids, just work night shift for several years (from 18 to 6 including weekends) and when you text a pal at 6:30 am you wonder why he doesnt reply until 8:30 (when you go to sleep).
there are two English accents, i was thinking oh he must be talking about northern and southern, but no! it was Queens English, which is southern, and cockney, which is also southern!
33:00 had me in stitches, the animalistic noises from Liam of rage and despair culminating in the Xbox just sliding back to his feet ready for round 67. That Xbox needs to be immortalized.
This was playing in the background when I fell asleep. It was a very interesting dream I had seeing as I heard their voices in the video throughout the dream..
2:02 As a Brit, I want to be triggered, but my laughter is making it really hard to be angry... and Sam and Liam are so enjoyable to watch, how can I stay mad at them?
I am totally certain that after Liam telling both about his „corpse“ in the back of the car, and going into his back yard at midnight, Sam is now less hyped to go to a far away cottage with Liam... or maybe more?
Hey 8:24 - 38:45 is Part of FCG origin! There are more on this show that incorporate FCG character where Sam tells us that Liam told him to see a therapist and got him interest in the concept(not actually going, btw lol).
If this is not a joke: Please don't post spoilers. I'm not caught up yet, and I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one... although I must admit - if they really were wanted criminals now, I wouldn't be surprised...
Brian Foster is a beautiful cabbage lad and I'm insulted you'd deface his image like this. I MUST tweet my anger at the entire cast of CR now LIKE A REASONABLE PERSON.
I really appreciated that slight formatting change with the activities segment, where they had Sam and Liam's descriptions cut into the actual footage of it. I think it worked well, though I'm sure it's more difficult to execute, especially on a non-scripted show!
Did I hear that right? Liam claimed he started the show (All work no play) in 1907? (In his words: nineteen-oh-seven) °_° And here I thought, Taliesin was the vampire...
Also: The way Liam talkes about the feeling at night that the whole world slows down and people stop juggeling a dozen plates and everything just... de-stresses really resonated with me. That is exactly the reason (without being able to pinpoint it before) I like working the night shift. Yes, the injuries or illnesses are the same at night, but everything else is just more relaxed. Even in the A&E departement it's somehow more quite than during the day. I'd work the night over day shift any time. (And since most of my buddies like it the other way around, I often get to... :) )
I am almost positive that Taliesin started his own coven with the CR cast. Also there is a sorta weird peace one can only get at night, it is relaxing.
I was in *tears* laughing through the end of this when they were discussing if Sam is some sort of homunculus. (For reals, though, Sam: don't worry. You're probably just good at processing your emotions and thus they don't fester in you, turning you into a rage demon)
Hearing Sam talk about not feeling stressed and not having inner rage and being thrilled about his children... It allows me to invision what life is like as a mentally healthy and happy human... I bet the source of his Happiness Powers stem from his huge and illustrious smile
Coming back to this FCG inspiration even later. Not only does it look to be Liam's inspiration to tell Sam to be an automaton cleric, but also Sam's inspiration to have a character who is always cheerful but has a secret dark core and worries about not being a real person and having a soul
Liam, the best way to release rage when you're not mad at the moment is to start breaking things, yelling, or what ever, and keep going. It'll feel goofy or dumb at first, but when you finally start getting tired your mind lets its guard down and whatever's bothering you will finally start coming out. I have crap knees, so I can't run, but I would imagine distance running would let you do the same thing. Try no music, so your mind doesn't have that to distract it. It's when we're quiet, like when you're laying on the grass, that your mind will start rummaging around and finally find what you're looking for. Sam, I hate to break it to you, but you're just plain one happy dude. Or your mind is hiding something really shitty down where you don't know it's at. Both of ya, you're awesome to see together. Here's to many more seasons of AWNP and whatever else you do.
omg the conversation at the end!!!??? an automaton that can only smile and have no soul ?? crazy foreshadowing for C3 ! (or was it how they actually got the idea of that character ?)
This episode was an absolute delight and has inspired my friends to try out the Rage Room when we go to LA. I love this show so much. Thank you for having fun for our enjoyment.
I didn't know you guys started doing All Work No Play in video format, and I have to say this was a most pleasent surprise. A perfect show to watch late at night. Never change you too, I've missed the podcast a lot!

How weird is it that 3 years ago Sam mentioned being a souless automaton that can't stop smilling and now we have FCG
And the well adjusted Liam/Orym is probably going to end up being the murder hobo of the group with the biggest darkness of them all😂👍
