One thing I love is that Elisa, the least likable character (in my opinion), is also one of the most useful to keep alive. To get the health upgrades you have to give a lot of meteor dust to her, which can put other characters at risk if you don't find more or are too slow. However, having more health will most likely lead to you dying less which will save you more time. The time limit made so many choices that are no brainers in other games ACTUALLY matter, and that is really cool.
One thing I really like about this game is how willing it is to let you solve things in a variety of ways. Sure, you can come back with an item later, or solve a block pushing puzzle... or you could stack crates on top of each other until you can reach the ledge. You can go through a dungeon to get the item needed to burn through some foliage, or just cut through it with a fire sword you can buy or craft. Lots of games would see things like this as a "problem" that needs fixing in order to force you to use the intended solution, when really it's a good thing. It's really fun when a game rewards out of the box solutions, and the time limit really rewards these sorts of solutions, since they're often much faster than going through the "intended" route.
Something I really loved about this game is how many things reward you from thinking outside the box and being curious. Like, there were schematics that auto assemble you the resources in the correct position to craft things like weapons or disposable items and at the beggining, you only get the most simple form of the weapon, but then the shops start getting elemental weapons and you think: I have the axe blueprint. What if I changed this bit with this other one... And yeah, that is actually what makes the fire axe, multi granade luncher and so on. This game makes you feel just like a speedrunner, not only with it´s gameplay, but with this eureka moments that make you feel just like what people felt when discovering skips and glitches. Totally worth playing!
HE’S BACK! This is definitely a lot more of a laid back video and if that helps you put out more content without any headaches or hassle, im all for it! Quality is still tremendous
Dude this video was great! Missed your content quite a bit, I must say, but congrats on all the exciting things going on! Your practice with your older videos really came through and had you sounding much less rambling than others tend to when they do these "off script" videos,, so honestly the format works great!
Massive recommendation on this one, the combat is incredibly satisfying and it has masterful metroidvania mechanics. After you beat it, you also unlock a randomly generated rogue-like mode which is just such a nice cherry on top.
I ran out of video games to pllay and I went to your channel to see what to play next only to find out you were gone! Good to have you back and look forward to playing this
During my first playtrough I found out something interesting. Theres a portable crafting station you can unlock. It lets you craft anything you have a blueprint for, anywhere at any time. Yes, even in the middle of a bossfight. In didnt end up needing it, but I may have crafted a revive cog after my first one was used in the final boss...
YESSSS THANK YOU FOR COVERING THIS GAME I found out about it after trying to find a game like Cross Code (If anyone hasn't played it yet, please do) and I've been addicted to it alongside cross code
Cross code was such a bummer for me. Needed something after Hyper Light Drifter, and it just did not click. Actually worried this game will be too much like Crosscode 😥
I felt a little discouraged by the timers at first but you've convinced me to try it out! I also really liked this type of video, great to have you back Snoman!
I've been meaning to play Unsighted for a while now. I think I'm finally gonna pick it up! I really like this short form opinion style of video too! Also also I'd love to hear your opinions on Inscryption and Psychonauts 2!
I think there's something to be said for this off-the-cuff format where you can just bring to light really cool and unique games. I'm super excited to play it now, so I think you did your job well! It's great to hear from you again man.
So good to see a video from you again! Trust me, I know how life creeps up and impacts our ability to do many of the things we enjoy or want to do. But, I was literally watching a “Good Game Design” video yesterday and was wondering what was going on in snowman’s life. Glad you’re doing ok and good to see a new, relaxed kind of content from you! Edited: good instead of food
It is so nice to see you back, I liked this format, although I really liked the previous format as well. Not sure what I prefer, but most importantly you're back.
Also unrelated, but another game i've been looking forward to along with this before it came out is Aztech Forgotten Gods (not out yet, just I remember learning about it around the same time last year as this game) and I hope you get to cover that when it comes out round march.
I do like this format, it's more relax and it feels more of your unedited thoughts about the game, I do feel that you might need to have a framework just to explain everything you want to explain that feels smooth but I definitely love this way of editing and giving your thoughts on the game. By the way congrats on your baby, hope he/she is fine.
TH-cam didn't recommend this to me even though I subscribe, but welcome back and congrats, Snoman! This was a way better-structured extemporaneous video than a lot of other gaming creators put out (like Arlo, his are rough lol), so I think it was great and still gave a good look at Unsighted and the time mechanic. I haven't watched your new Good Game Design, but I'm excited to after such a great return!
I'm sooooo happy to see your coverage of this little Brazilian gem. If I could recommend other one to fall in love with, it would be dodge ball academy
YESSIR YESSIR! I remember seeing an ad about on Nintendo's YT channel and I was like this game looks sick! Then I acquired an Xbox Series S and Game Pass and found out it was on there, so it made everything easier. By god Unsighted is a fantastic fucking game that I hate it got slept on. Everyone should play it
I agree keep putting these relaxed videos out there - like to hear your thoughts always on the latest indies you are into and if doing it in a stress free way when you have the time then im all for it
As others have said, I’m very happy to see you back and think this format works well! You’ve always been my go-to source for finding cool indie games, so whatever allows you to do that is great! Also, Elechead looks cool - saw you answer that in another comment. I’ll have to check that out!
I was so happy to see that TH-cam notification on my phone when you uploaded this video, because I was missing your videos since I finally got back into gaming last year. You help me pick my games so please keep the videos coming, whichever the format (whether if it's a You Need to Play - scripted or not - or a even tier list), a s long as you talk about good games 🙂
recently found your channel, and very glad I did. I’ve been watching a huge amount of your videos, even some from several years ago, and they’re all enjoyable and well made. Thanks for the content :)
I'm happy to see you back, and recommending such a stellar game as well! I adore this game, and the devs who worked on it are terrific people, so it's nice to see more folks talk about it.
This is the type of game that Schaffrillas Productions would love(Due to his obsession of time management games like the Persona franchise, the Pikmin franchise, and Majora's Mask).
Well I ran and bought the game after this, so I think a very good video indeed lol! What a hidden gem this is c: And during the Lunar sale too. Thanks for the video!
I know you think it's a relaxed format but it's your style we like, this feels like any other snowman gaming video. I'll watch anything you put out as long as it's not more kazio Mario or donkey Kong country videos.
I was just thinking "It's been a long time since Snoman put out a video. Ah, he's probably busy being a Snodad." I don't know if I'd want to see an unscripted Good Game Design, but it's totally fine for a You Need to Play. Don't work too hard!
just beat the game, and came back to say thanks for letting me know about the walljump, it really helped shave time off my forst run! :D I didn't meed scythe girl, but i think thats fine
Great to have you back, you’ve been missed in my feed and I went back and watched some of your older videos just to hear you talk about this and that. So yeah, happy to hear you’re back and congratulations on the new baby too! Regarding the video format, maybe a little more scripted or maybe concise is the word I’m looking for would be nice, you did tend to go for a tad too much in terms of filler words like “like”, “just” and so on. That said I did enjoy the free flow style itself, and maybe that’s just me with the filler words 😅 We obviously don’t know each other personally so I can’t say I know how you’d normally talk. Sorry for the long-winded answer but in closing, again, wonderful to see you back!
You're right the gameplay is excellent, and I always been a fan of that pixel retro style too. Although there's the one thing that I dislike in this game, that will not say.
Great to see you're making content again! I'll be honest, I prefered your previous style. That being said, this is a good second! I would much rather have this than nothing, especially knowing life comes first
Personally, I prefer the old format. It seemed more structured and thoughtful to me. Of course I understand that might not be possible for you right now. Just glad to see you back in this space!
One thing I love is that Elisa, the least likable character (in my opinion), is also one of the most useful to keep alive. oh wait I meant to say, "You Need To Play Unsighted? More like you need to play Zelda 2."
LOL
It’s THE Raz again!
ahh i just watched your latest video earlier and heard the baby news, and now heard it here too and I see your comment! thats cool that youre friends
Honestly I just love it when 2 of my favorite TH-camrs talk with each other.
One thing I really like about this game is how willing it is to let you solve things in a variety of ways. It's really fun when a game rewards out of the box solutions, and the time limit really rewards these sorts of solutions, since they're often much faster than going through the "intended" route.
Love this relaxed format, hope you have time to drop some more content. Congrats on your productive time away too!
I love this game and I can’t believe how little people seem to have played it! Super happy someone is shining light on it
how few people*
Unless you’re surprised that short people are playing it too 😅
Just bought it yesterday on a whim. Enjoying it so far. Made it to the part where I got the high jump boots.
HE’S BACK! This is definitely a lot more of a laid back video and if that helps you put out more content without any headaches or hassle, im all for it! Quality is still tremendous
Everyone has talked about Psychonauts 2 or Inscryption, so I was glad to hear about Unsighted which wasn't even on my radar
Dude this video was great! Missed your content quite a bit, I must say, but congrats on all the exciting things going on! Your practice with your older videos really came through and had you sounding much less rambling than others tend to when they do these "off script" videos,, so honestly the format works great!
I liked this new format. Kinda nice and chill. I'm honestly fine with whatever works best for you and glad to see you back.
“The hardest thing about this job is that, you can’t save everybody”
Welcome back! So glad you're uploading again. I love this new format, it sounds a little more laid back in the best of ways!
I literally just checked out your channel yesterday because I hadn't seen one of your videos in a while! Glad to see another one :)
Massive recommendation on this one, the combat is incredibly satisfying and it has masterful metroidvania mechanics.
After you beat it, you also unlock a randomly generated rogue-like mode which is just such a nice cherry on top.
Happy to see you uploading again. Man I miss your videos.
Me too!
Congratulations with your baby!
Good to see you're back!
Hooray! The snoman has returned to the globe 😁 Here I thought he was lost in the blizzard, if only for a minute there.
I like the more relaxed, less scripted format. Good video, glad to have you back
the greatest game of 2021 and I'm so happy you came back to talk about it. love you miss u
I love this formula great to see you back dude. I'm happy to see you doing well and thriving.
This format is totally fine, its good to see more of your content
I ran out of video games to pllay and I went to your channel to see what to play next only to find out you were gone! Good to have you back and look forward to playing this
Welcome back, I've missed your content.
Hey, thanks!
Bro I’m so glad your back! I love this series man
Welcome back! I'll be happy to watch any of your videos regardless of format.
This is a great format for videos. I usually watch to get recommendations for good indies I might have missed, so this was just perfect
A SNOMAN VID! I just saw you in Tofu's chat the other day!
YESSSS THANK YOU FOR COVERING THIS GAME
I found out about it after trying to find a game like Cross Code (If anyone hasn't played it yet, please do) and I've been addicted to it alongside cross code

Good to have ya back, sno! stay frosty my friend
Take your time and make the videos you want. We'll always watch!
I've been meaning to play Unsighted for a while now. I think I'm finally gonna pick it up!
I really like this short form opinion style of video too! Also also I'd love to hear your opinions on Inscryption and Psychonauts 2!
Good to see you again! It's been a while.
Great to see you on TH-cam again snowman!
Omg this is SUCH a good game, love that you’re making a video on this
I think there's something to be said for this off-the-cuff format where you can just bring to light really cool and unique games. I'm super excited to play it now, so I think you did your job well! It's great to hear from you again man.

Meen, I reaally love your videos! No matter if you don't show up for a year, it's always a delight :D
Really good video! I’m glad to have you back, even if it means less structured.
It is so nice to see you back, I liked this format, although I really liked the previous format as well. Not sure what I prefer, but most importantly you're back.
Great to see you back. Always enjoyed your takes on modern and retro games.
Glad you like them!

The return of the king.
Hey long time no see ! Glad you're back ! Bon courage 😙
More to come :)
@@snomangaming man thanks for bringing attention to this game I feel like people are missing out on one of the best indies ever
TH-cam didn't recommend this to me even though I subscribe, but welcome back and congrats, Snoman! Just finished the game a while ago, it's extremely good and parrying feels so satisfying
I'm sooooo happy to see your coverage of this little Brazilian gem. If I could recommend other one to fall in love with, it would be dodge ball academy
Totally cool with this format, just happy to see you back!
YESSIR YESSIR!
I remember seeing an ad about on Nintendo's YT channel and I was like this game looks sick!

I loved this format and am just happy to see you posting again. Good luck with all your different ventures and hope to hear your thoughts again soon!
Hey! I missed having new videos from you, good to see you
SNOMAN GAMING IS BACK
I really like this free flow style, fits your voice and attitude way more!! You sound way more cheerful~
Dope review, I’m all in on this
Honestly this didn't seem all too different from your usual reviews. Very fun all the same, definitely sold me to go start this one
As others have said, I’m very happy to see you back and think this format works well! You’ve always been my go-to source for finding cool indie games, so whatever allows you to do that is great!
Also, Elechead looks cool - saw you answer that in another comment. I’ll have to check that out!
FINALLY someone talking about it, this game is amazing
Glad to see you back. We need voices like you rather than overproducers chasing trends.
I was so happy to see that TH-cam notification on my phone when you uploaded this video, because I was missing your videos since I finally got back into gaming last year. Hey, thanks!
Ahhh man I seriously loved this game. Glad to see it getting more attention cuz it's criminally underrated
Me waiting patiently the previous 8 months for the next snomaN gamer video 🙂 (congratulations on the kid)
recently found your channel, and very glad I did. I’ve been watching a huge amount of your videos, even some from several years ago, and they’re all enjoyable and well made. Thanks for the content :)
Looks interesting. I might check it out. Also, format's good. It works.

Glad to see you back
Yay, Snoman Gaming is back! Glad you've returned. :)
I’ve followed your suggestions on shovel knight, hollow knight and iconoclasts and been super satisfied with all of them, this looks awesome too
This is the type of game that Schaffrillas Productions would love(Due to his obsession of time management games like the Persona franchise, the Pikmin franchise, and Majora's Mask).
Oh look you finally remembered your password
This was great! We missed you!
I'm glad your back. Love your videos
Well I ran and bought the game after this, so I think a very good video indeed lol!
What a hidden gem this is c:
And during the Lunar sale too. Thanks for the video!
Welcome back!
Do you know Doki Doki literature Club?
It’s an experience everyone should try
I know you think it's a relaxed format but it's your style we like, this feels like any other snowman gaming video.
I'll watch anything you put out as long as it's not more kazio Mario or donkey Kong country videos.
i really liked this review and wanna try that game out now!
Amazing video. Whatever works best for you is fine with me!
The legend has returned!
now you're gonna make me cry
I absolutely loved this game, and it hurts a lot now because I've softlocked my game
In the FACTORY
I was just thinking "It's been a long time since Snoman put out a video. Ah, he's probably busy being a Snodad."
I don't know if I'd want to see an unscripted Good Game Design, but it's totally fine for a You Need to Play.
Don't work too hard!
just beat the game, and came back to say thanks for letting me know about the walljump, it really helped shave time off my forst run! :D
I didn't meed scythe girl, but i think thats fine
Honestly feels very close to your old style which is super impressive if this is more off the cuff.
Feels natural for a Snoman to come back in Winter! ;^ D
Sounds very interesting, I'll give it a try!
Also, what game is the one at 0:34 ?
Elechead! One of the best designed puzzle platformers I’ve ever played
Yoo snowman's back!

After 8 entire months...He returns!!!
Cool video! This format is good, the only thing I kinda miss is the snowglobe awards, but of course "real life" comes first
Played the demo of this a while back and it kind of slapped yeah, need to play thanks for the vid snowman
Hellyeah more Unsighted coverage!
Welcome back!!!
this channel just full of hidden gems
Congratulations on all your off camera success! If you want to continue to do late free form videos cause you are busy I say do it!
