I have absolute RESPECT for Ashley ... Many other contestants her age would’ve probably broken down & burst into tears after being “stopped” by Simon. She “took it on the chin”, dusted herself off & came back to “wow” the crowd ✌️😉✌️. That was an incredible song..... MUCH RESPECT YOUNG LADY ✊️😁👍🌅🌅🌅

I’m 56 years old and I have never had a daughter only boys. As a father I will never know the Love of a daughter. This brought me to tears wishing I had a daughter who I could walk down the Isle and who could express that kinda of love.

This clip of Ashley's performance on AGT is already stunningly impressive. But I found her performance of this song from October, 2018 where she sings the song and accompanies herself on the piano. Folks, she wrote this song when she was 11 years old!! No way I could do that when I was 11. This girl is destined for greatness.

I've listened to all three songs she sang for the audition and while her voice is indeed incredible I feel Simon was right when he tried to force more out of her, because I think the world would be robbed of this song otherwise.

I thought the first two songs were done amazing and Simon lost his mind. As a dad, of a young daughter the same age as you, your original was sung AMAZING, stuck in my head, and if a producer doesn't jump on that, they are nuts! I'd download it and buy it right now.
23 years in the music business and this is one of the best written/arranged/ performed songs I've ever seen come from a child. It was PERFECT! Way to go Ashley. The only thing I'd change as a producer would be a little more counter melody in the beginning, but it doesn't really need it.

I do not know how long ago this song was written but I got to stay even if she did not win this song should be out there where people can buy it because it is the perfect wedding song! In addition to that children today do not love their parents the way this child does! Her father must be completely overjoyed and just over proud of her! Congratulations young lady. You are a very special and very talented young lady! Good luck in your career cuz I know you're going up. I would also recommend that you write your own songs you feel I'm so much more. She took all his advise in and made it happen. After much consideration in such a short time, she thought brilliantly of going for her original. This song seem like a winner. …but Simon Cowell though. He is not generally moved by the contestants’ popularity, fashion, etc. He has and follows this incredible instinct that is ALWAYS on point. Whenever he raises his hand during someone’s performance, it is guaranteed, something great will follow. He truly knows how to bring out these singers best singing qualities. I admire his ability to detect details that others completely miss. He is a genius!

Yes, I noticed that too! She probably wanted a mom’s song? 😂 no but idk sometimes moms are a little serious. Like my mom at my age of 30 she is kinda and soft and loving. Growing up my mom was tough and always so serious (and in my eyes it felt like she was mean) but now that I’m older I see it was just her way of being. So maybe same thing?

I noticed that too. Most daughters have a special bond with their mom that is nothing like the bond they may have with their dad.... But, if you are a daddy's girl, that bond you have with your dad is just as special as the bond you have with your mom. I know, I was a daddy's girl growing up. Loved both of my parents the same, but the bond I had with my dad was very special.
Yeah, because it was most likely Mom that did all of the day to day hard work, never relenting with school and sports and music and cooking and cleaning and Dad is the fun uncle for the happy weekend ice cream trips. That’s the norm!

This was amazing I remember when I saw this performance live 2 years ago on AGT with my dad and we were both watching it and at the time I was sobbing in tears watching it bc I didn’t have a good relationship with him at the time and that was the song that made him realize that and from then on I have been closer to him more than ever I love my dad and I always have and I know he still did too but there was just something between us that made us feel apart and like I couldn’t make him proud of me “maybe I am your weakness” had me in tears bc that’s what I felt and I thank Ashley so much for this bc I don’t know how much longer it would have took for my dad to realize I needed his attention if it weren’t for that song to let him think. I want to sing this song at my wedding for him myself just like Ashley did (except on AGT instead) and now relistening to it 2 years later also has had me in tears so I again thank Ashley so much!!!(also disclaimer my dad was never not a part of my life thankfully and by God’s grace I am so happy to have him with me)
