"Character" is exactly the right word to describe that pedal's tones. Just full of it. And I'm not exactly sure of the practical use of that chase feature, but I could sit and listen to it by itself for hours. Hypnotic.

Yeah it's a niche thing but definitely useful!

Also... the tap divisions aren't "presets" but if you want to keep things simple and aren't relying on the echo as a rhythmic device all the time - you can just find a solid time and use subdivisions for presets of a sort. I like to find a slap back or dotted eighth that is more rhythmically significant but then I'll push the tap divide to longer echos for swells or more ethereal sections.
And it allows you to tap beyond the knob's delay time, getting ultra noisy and awesome

This is my only Way Huge pedal but I do love it. Nice modulation and the tone and gain add flexibility. Chase mode is a nice noise-making bonus. I think it would be really hard to get specific sounds from that mode on the fly, but with a DAW and/or looper you could get more mileage out of it. I do find the sweep of the repeats and mix controls can be somewhat finicky but it’s still fairly easy to use.

@5:30 That's well cool. Nuno esq. I'd do a bit of flight of the bumblebee with that setting.

It is simply one of the few good options if it comes to analog delays. A keeper in my opinion!

IF you are looking to build a unique sound specific to your playing, pedals like this that have unique character and a defined feature set are key.Way Huge have a few designs like this, which in such a huge current market can be equalled but not beaten. This, the Green Rhino, Red Lama, Blue Hippo and Angry Troll have long been favourites; newer designs like the Attack Vector are also well conceived, and the Swollen Pickle is always outstanding with bass.

I save this word for some very special pedals and it's "celebration" - where this pedal, its sound quality and tactile controls that feel limitless for creativity but all on the surface and accessible for good work flow. It's a celebration of bucket brigade technology and shows some very obvious decisions for style over sheer versatility- it DOES copy a slick sounding memory man pretty well but it has the raw crunchy quality of a Maxon ad999 pushed hard - probably rooted in a boss dm design- whatever it is, it's got basic cool audio chips, nothing fabled- just well designed

How do you use an external/expression pedal to control tap tempo? Can it work with a boss fs-5u?

@@LeonTodd I've had a few original Memory Man pedals in the past (and stupidly sold them), and I keep hearing this is basically the closest thing out there.

Great demo sir, but that name makes me laugh so hard.. I guess I'm so immature, but I had to laugh.. I'm waiting on the same company to make the way huge supa robert.. 😛
It really does sound great.. I saw a guy get a killer VH tone one time with three of these way huge pedals inline to the clean channel of an amp and it sounded really good... Great effects..
Oh, I love the split screen you did this time.. Really easy to see the effect and you play sir.. Just FYI. It looked like you were playing with a better way to show us your teachings.. It worked brother!
Be well and safe my friend.. I'm off to work again.. Just today and tomorrow and then Sunday I'll be making guitar noises again!
    Your friend.
    Tim

@@michaelfowler3187 *Midi is not music, however a banal and insipidly irrelevant gesture it is to say; What MIDI allows is for real musicians to both cleverly, elaborately set up and control their devices; setting presets, changing parameters and all the like with MIDI CC AND MIDI PC (( ON THE FLY )) allowing for maximum creative control and not having to have 2,3 or even 4 units just so you can set them differently; less alone being able to sit the unit at a remote location and control it with a simple pedal that does not even have audio passing through it, which duly in a LIVE or even a Touring application, help you to keep your signal clean*
