kingthejam I’m almost certain he threw it away for the sake of entertainment that crash and following overshooting of the next corner knowing he had no wing was awful
If the AI didn't have that massive traction controll, they would be probably 20 seconds slower than Ben on intermediate tyres. #JustCodemastersThings. They would probably spin, because the track was bone dry.
As bad as he was struggling, I don't think staying out would have done him any better or worse. Plus, in real life, those inters would have been gone on Vettels car and I doubt you can do 2 laps on wet tires when the track is dry, especially not keeping the pace Vettel did. But truthfully, the spin outs is what cost Ben the most.
If it wasnt a codemasters game, those inters wouldve overheated to like 110°C where it is impossible to drive on them, and it should be at least 15 secs slower.
Funny how people make the argument "In real life, those intermediates wouldn't have lasted and this tire change would've worked". Well, this isn't real life. If Vettel was doing better in those conditions on the intermediates than Ben, you might want to assume the other AI drivers will do the same. Tyre change or not, he wouldn't have won the race. But he could've stayed ahead of Hamilton for those two laps had he stayed on the inters, because he had a sizable lead over him. And Hamilton and Weber are ahead in the driver championship. Vettel is behind Ben. Staying ahead of Hamilton was the important thing here. Even if it's just making up two points.
7:50 "Can you believe that we've been here for nearly a decade?" - Well, unless the dictionary definition for "decade" has changed, haven't we been here for more than a decade already?
@@KIenex yeah i know... i am just trying to understand if there were no rules and regs would an f1 car on heavy fuel, say in 7 or 8 years, would be as fast as todays pole lap.. its all in good fun tho..
Has anyone noticed the real life cars running over those high curbs just like we do in the game? I remember drivers avoiding those curbs even in last year. What do you think have chaged on the cars?
Ben: throws away P1 and then P2 Also Ben: slams into the wall on the final straight right before he finishes, costing Ferrari tens of thousands in damages. Ben is the king of pettiness and it’s hilarious.
Was still a great race, can't be perfect every time, but you still pulled off a podium after spinning out twice in a race, so that's impressive. I thought pitting for the dry tires was a good call, in real life I doubt Vettel could have taken the intermediates to the end. But oh well, great vid.
Love how you crash on the finish lines and the post race cut scene shows you hopping out of your car in the out lane as Vettel celebrates. Top job Codemasters! (Nice shunt tbf Ben, Ferrari’s have always looked better in a wall)
since you're now consolidating parts for the regulation change, why din't you start with efficiency, so that everything costs less? not only for that but also for the next season where you have to rebuy some things
Racing point backmarker? In my carrer they are dominating since season 2 have car almost maxed up,they won all the races in season 2 beside monte carlo where i won and in season 3 are stil doninating without problems.
Ben old man here…still needing that extra Fanatec steering wheel you have laying around…lol…good race sucks on that crash but just take it as a learning experience and learn something from it…it’s only a mistake when you don’t learn nothing from it
That's codemasters level of bullsh*t. Not even mad that you bottled it. Could have happened to anyone, but the AI had too much grip with their traction controll. You should have won that easily even with that last pitstop.

Ferrari in real life is a bit op now, extremely good power and a improved aero package. Absolutely brilliant job from the engineers in the factory

Because he hoped that he could be faster on the Softs

Well irl i think intermediate should be like 12 seconds slower on a dry track, and that was what he needed, but its the AI. It was a legit call imo.

He would probably spin and crash if he stayed on intermediates.
