I lived in The Byron Hot Springs in the 70s. I remember that hotel Spend the night in it And the peacocks used to scream and they Sounded like Somebody dying. Lol I don't think we made it through a whole night in the party room, I think we moved to the barn LO.L good times.
My friend told me about it when I was driving from Washington back to LA in 2017. I stopped off with my four dogs, went right past the signs, hiked back to the hotel, took tons of pictures, and saw some farmers on the way back on the road. They were totally cool just said “don’t destroy anything or graffiti”. so I didn’t. We just checked out the hotel and took some great pictures.
My friends and i went out there in the 60's while in high school. We didnt have to park too far from it at the time, i guess on the roadway where you parked. We went at night and made it a scary adventure. My uncle served in the military during WW2 and was a fireman there during the Japanese prison incampment. The Japanese made a documentary about their experiences there. The film was shown at the lical theater in Byron and i took my aunt there to see it. She was in her late 80's at the time. The theater was packed for the showing and i ended up sitting in the front row right next to Sam Matthews, the editor in chief of the Tracy Press.
damn lol. lucky. doubt lot of ppl get those tours lol tht's very true about wearing a smile and watching for opportunties . but that's cool if they are making it public.
Went there over 10 years ago as a teen during the night. We definitely trespassed (I feel bad about that now) but it was scary as heck during the night.
Oh yeah. It's spooky. I grew up out there and from time to time we would ride dirtbikes there. Always felt bad but it's so cool. I rode my dirtbike up the stairs.
Have you done a video on the haunted Banta Inn in Tracy? My friends and I snuck out to the hot springs hotel and it's definitely haunted and dangerous...I can actually believe the dead cows story as there are holes in the floors and the stairs are crumbling. BTW the BHS hotel was also a WW2 prison camp with rumors of bodies buried on site and for a short time was a Greek Orthodox monastery. It's most definitely haunted but the footage captured was lost (long story).
Finley's bar and grill east of Manteca/Lathrop is also haunted and has a history to it. They're reluctant to talk about the ghosts but I think would if it's not busy there. They say it's more the house right behind it that's haunted but it's the bar too. I haven't investigated there in years but they have some spirits that like to cuss I recall.
Weird I guess my long msg about the Ryde Hotel and Locke Chinatown didn't post...but those are good historically haunted locations to check out in Walnut Grove west of Lodi. Hill House Inn in Lodi too. If you book a room there she'll give you the history on the place. She is reluctant to talk about ghosts but it's very haunted. Nice looking Victorian house from the late 1800s I believe. I know of other haunted locations in the foothills and Modesto area if interested.
Awesome score getting that tour!! Can't beat it!! Very cool site and glad to hear the property might eventually be open to the public and re-purposed!! :) Nice work getting in there!
Been there multiple times seen It multiple time haunted maybe not very much not but is it worth checking out yes do stay away tho unless ya like mps a lot 😂

We just went here tonight on Halloween and some guy flashed his light at us before we even got past the first couple of palm trees 😭
We had some dudes shooting at us one time

Gotta put yourself out there sometimes!
How cool is that !!!!
You definitely need to do a follow up story on this and find out if they ever did do anything I would be interested to know as an explorer myself
I wish they would remodel it & give it a tour like the Winchester mystery house
Went their recently. Looks cool and the new owner is very cool
They’ve been talking bout restoring it for 10 plus years. This building isn’t Osha approved
Didn’t care about the place until...beer garden 🤣🍺🍻🎉✊
Anyway, another interesting video. Good to know there are still accommodating people out there.
Glad you enjoyed it
I was like hey, I work there! lol
I just found this place but never Ben there yet. I would love to see it to
I'm on my way
Open air bear garden?
Just like the culture vultures at the American canyon ruins.
Weak
doubt that will ever happen, we'll see...
You said there were cameras at the hotel?
security camera's and more going up, lot of people trespass on the property, as you can see from all the graffiti
Been there multiple times seen It multiple time haunted maybe not very much not but is it worth checking out yes do stay away tho unless ya like mps a lot 😂
You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take
Pants are nice
I went there that shit is not haunted.
