going into year 13 but I second that Mr Salles' videos are really good as I went from getting a 5 in my mocks to an 8 in the real thing for English Lit will continue to subscribe :)
Im hoping for GCSE exams to take place in 2021 because the algorithm is incredibly biased and is based hugely on the area we live in. Teacher predicitions, which I will admit is better than the algorithm, won't work out well for a lot of people, I've heard lots of people saying they've gotten lower than their mocks and they cannot appeal. I know the teacher predicitions did also inflate grades, but for some people they didn't get the grades they deserve.
@@Subarmale using spaced repetition doesn't change the fact i have to remember things longer. Giving us a couple of weeks extra just means 2 more weeks of stress. Either continue as normal or cancel the whole thing. Simple
Hi Mr Salles! I saw your structure video for A Christmas Carol. I don't take it, but I was wondering if you could make a similar video for the structures of Macbeth and Jekyll and Hyde? It would be really useful. Nevertheless, keep up the great work - life-saver!
I just want to say I have recently discovered your channel and it has been very helpful! I am watching all your inspector calls videos and it has given me a new appreciation for the text. Previously I thought it as a bit dull with little to analyse because all the points are so obvious but your videos have brought up really interesting points and hopefully this will improve my grades in year 11 :)))))))
I feel a bit uncomfortable with the comment about 'string tops', I don't think it's your place to comment on what jade wears, as she doesn't dress in revealing or provocative clothes.
Teacher grades were so inflated! I got 9 A* and an A with the algorithm and when the teachers grades were used, multiple people in my class got loads of A*s and even surpassed me because the teachers basically predicted that some sort of miracle would happen for some students. Ludicrous! Now I feel cheated and as though my grades don’t mean anything anymore.
I will self-try to be well-prepared.... Anyway, life should be stress-free ; GCSE shouldn't really be taken TOO seriously - yes... they are important however it's not the end of the world if you FAIL all your exams
Mr Salles Teaches English ok thank you. Ive been watching all your lessons on Dr Jekyll and mr hyde through out lockdown ( before i used to watch mr bruff until i found out he doesn’t do ocr, plus i felt like I wasn’t getting quality unique lessons) then i found your channel and its quite an eye opener to see that the way our teachers teach english have made it hard for students to get actively interested in the subjects they learn. Thanks to you i now approach English with more intrigue and curiosity and feel more motivated to learn.
Hello mr Salles, Do you think that this years exam season will be disrupted? If so, would you think that predicted grades are better than actual grades?
mr salles, is there any way i can compare the theme of youth and age in an inspector calls to the metamorphosis of a butterfly (mr birling and mrs birling are already butterflies so they can’t change)
Probably, a lot of the time teachers do use the past paper from the previous year, but obviously there weren't 2020 GCSEs. However, there's a possible chance that they may use the autumn papers that'll be done by people doing resits this October/November. It's quite rare for a teacher to create their own mock paper when it's much more quick and easy to find them online
Mr . Salles can you please make videos on Igcse English language B ( sec A ,B and C ) please please please ...i have exams coming soon. ...i need to learn

Mr Salles Teaches English i see your reasoning, still there is no telling if the correlation is between watching your videos and the grades, or between the people who watch your videos and improving right before exams (i.e. after mocks) especially when the people who went up the most this year are the ones that teachers have consistently seen performing highly.
soph.m.p If the students performing highly are my TH-cam audience, their poll would reflect more than the 6% increase in 2020, not less, because you are suggesting other students would have had much less inflation - say 4%, which would mean this high performing cohort (which is much smaller) would then have to have improved by much more than 8% to arrive at a national average of 6%. My experience as a senior leader is that once teachers learn to trust data, they achieve amazing things. Their instinct, however, is often to explain away data, especially when it seems to be telling a story they don’t like. I have worked out how to do this at scale, so our school is in the top 2% of the most improved in the country (5 extra GCSE grades per pupil in 2019 with exams). In short, you don’t have to be an excellent teacher to get excellent results, you just need to look at the impact of what you do and try to improve it.

I dont see how delaying the exam periods by a couple of weeks is going to make up for months of time lost
Because it gives us time to revise or learn the content we missed in that month
