I picked this info up. There is no U.S. law or regulation within the United States Federal Register that governs the street, road, or highway use/application of UTV tires in any manner. As of 2022, there is no classification, regulation, or guideline that would make or allow any UTV tire "street legal" or approved by NHTSA or DOT
I built a.street legal dual dual sport trike after watching this video. Used a 2015 yamaha WR450F. Juat an fyi, SUNF tires are what im running for my rear tires. ALL of their tires are DOT approved!!!!!
Loved the video, have wondered if such a thing was possible for some time now. I am in Oregon and paused video early on to confirm that bikes can be converted here, but I wasn't able to find anything (at least not quickly) on the differential/live axle concern. Really curious to find out more now, would love to have a street legal ATC to buzz around town with. Subscribed and about to see if you have build videos!!
Any idea if this can be done in Florida? I looked up a couple of the things from the video. Motorcycle is up to three wheels and I would buy a street legal bike? Can’t find any concrete answers for Florida.
I need to build my gen 1 Klr 650 into a trike. I have recently had my right hip replaced and still have a lot of the TAT to finish. I am thinking it will definitely need a differential style rear end that can be locked for sand, mud, rocks, etc. I am looking for ideas, so anything will help. Thanks
It’s the turns and corners that get sketchy, but that’s more of an issue with live/locked rear ends If they’re open diff, the back won’t bind as much and want to go straight so badly
Hey man I just wanted to let you know in our town that I live near in MO, you can ride ATV'S and side by sides as long as you have a state and county tag / sticker with a orange triangle on the back and a flag, people ride their ATV'S all over the place here. No Joke. I don't know about anywhere else in Missouri. I am just talking about my town.
American road and vehicle regulations are shit. We tried to get my father's truck inspected and they said it was to loud.... And there is plenty more louder trucks that get inspected.... Are we still land of the free?
Awesome video and info but I need more input... short circuit 2 😁 I live in S. KCMO and already wanted to convert yz450 to a trike. Will you send me any links or express the requirements for Missouri since you have lived there? Interested in MO state safety inspection after conversion for renewal
You will need to get a Missouri 551 Form, setup a Highway Patrol Inspection, they will give you new VIN & then you go title that. That was 2007, but honestly I wouldn't do it like that now, cause then you will have trouble if want to convert bike back. I would leave alone and fall back on definition of 2 or 3 wheel equals motorcycle. DOT tires, hi lo beam with indicator hi beam, horn, brake light, 2 rear reflectors, you're good to go.
@@SleeveOfWizzard I think you could do this in Maine. We have a regulation that allows registering custom motorcycles the same way he did, you get the state troopers to come verify that it's safe and then they issue a new vin.
Wow for real? I live in maine and have a trike...... kxt tecate 250. I wonder if it would pass as a legal road trike with brake lights and blinkers add a horn? Any thoughts?
In CA. Agricultural equipment is not subject to the rules of traffic because they spend their time in the field civilian motorized vehicles spend their time on the roadways
Great job on the video. I found the entire thing very informative and very well put together. Keep up the great work and thank you.

i was wondering what speed you find three wheelers being unstable at?

You can in Tennessee to convert a motorcycle to a trike
Any success in Oklahoma with this?

I live in California I would get a ticket for this for simply dreaming about it
does it have to be a trike or dirt bike? i want to make my quad street legal and need more advice about that. I live in IL
Depends on the state
U selling it now?
How about putting a slow moving triangle on it. Like the farmers do for tractors.. problem solved.

🤔Michigan's easy👍😁😎
What is the secret for getting it in Michigan? A street legal 3 wheeler is a bucket list item for me.
@@1Thatstrangeguy As far as I know you can't because it has a live rear axle..
New Hampshire
Well that will definitely be impossible in new jersey.
I live in California...so I'm screwed already...but I can still dream
Same
@@nf4833 move to California and find out, but it's worth giving it a shot. Ill still end up with a nice ride.
