This is the 4th time my car has done this! I have spent way too much money taking it to the mechanic or the dealer. I am so grateful for your video! It worked. I was able to reset the radio and now I have re-gained control of the volume and station choices. Yay!!! Thank you so much!
You cannot possibly imagine how grateful i am to have seen this - EVERY year my 13 C-Max has had this problem and every year ford does a complete reset, all sorts of other crazy things, Nov 2019 replaced the radio and sync and then happened again. Did exactly what you said and it was AMAZING it like just worked magic. Not sure how long it will last but to know it is fixable without days in the shop and ford still having no idea i am so happy to have seen this. Thank you Thank you. So sad that Ford hasn't figured it out right
THANK YOU!!!!!! Your video saved my butt and a whole bunch money and time at the dealership. They told me a fix would cost $700 to $1300 for a new module. With your help I fixed it in 10 minutes for free. Appreciate it!!!!!!
your fix for the radio on my ford cmax worked perfectly, you guys probably saved me a trip to the mechanic and a charge for something simple. thanks guys and keep up the great work
This video was very handy, when a friend of mine leaned his ford CMAX to me and the same situation with the sound system showed up .Thanks man for sharing the information. God Blessed you.
Great video! I fixed my friends car while we were at work in less than 5 minutes. Most of that time was consumed by trying to figure out a makeshift fuse puller lol! =) Thank you!!
Some folks say to pull the - terminal off the battery. Yes, this will work, but you reset the computer (PCM) that has learned operational characteristics of the ICE. It will drive a bit funny as it relearns the signals and computations. Fuse does same, but only affects the F Touch/Sync unit.
Funny thing today came out my cmax when started car radio was on no sound I look at this video and pull this fuse now I have sounds radio works fine before couldn't change channel's or anything now it fix Thanks for this video !
Thank you I have had this problem with my Ford Cmax severak times and Ford told me it was something I may have. Thank you for the Fix. Do you have a fix for my windsheild motor on the Driver side?
The proper, permanent fix for this is to get the calibration updated on the ACM. Ford has TSB's out on this and it even affects other models like the Fusion as well. My 2013 C-Max had this when I originally got it. Updated the calibration myself on the ACM and it has been rock solid ever since. Sadly too many owners like to live with the fuse 'workaround' which just means the same issue will continue to occur.
Thanks , I just removed the battery terminal for a few seconds , now the radio shuts off and I can change channels and the volume , all of which were frustratingly unresponsive .
ONLY TEMPORARY. My wife has a 2013 C-MAX Energi. Does the exact same thing. She's pulled this fuse many times. Sometimes it takes 5 or 6 months before it will do this again, but lately (winter in NE Ohio) her car has done this twice in 3 months. Pulling the fuse will stop the problem for now, but IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN. Nothing is "fixed" but this will stop the radio from being frozen and continuing to play. Ford has a TSB about this. The issue is the FCIM (Front Control Interface Module) and it needs to be reprogramed.
@@damonhedg9647 - Yeah....keep a pair of needle nosed pliers in the glove box to make it easier. She actually drove to a dealership WHILE THE ISSUE WAS HAPPENING, and they were not able to look at it that day. She left the car there and they did not pull the fuse, so the next day the 12 volt battery was completely dead. They charged the battery, and then we had a new problem. From time to time the car will not start and it says the battery is too low and is in save mode. Hooking up jumper cables usually remedies the issue, and then the car is fine for a while again. The battery tests perfectly fine. She really likes the car but these weird issues really take a bite out of the enjoyment. The company programmed reduced range over time has turned us off of ever getting another car that can drive on battery alone.
I bought a used 2013 CMax Hybrid SEL (No plug-In) in 2021. So far it is only getting 29 to 33 MPG overall. New plugs, New oil, New air filter, Good tires, Average miles. The gas engine kicks in a lot more than I thought it would below 40 MPH and I don't push it hard to go or stop. Last owner bought it new and was a little old lady. It seems to be in great condition and I like the car and how it drives except for the way it brakes it takes getting used to and the MS Sync / radio system had to be rebooted by pulling a fuse as it had stopped working. She even wrote a note about this problem in the owners manual. Any suggestions as to how I can get my MPG up ? I tried premium gas and fuel injector cleaner all ready with minimal results. All in all I am content with MPG as my 2012 4x4 Jeep only averages around 12 to 14 MPG.
I find when it's cold weather it gets a lot lower gas mileage until the engine has been running for a while so on short trips in the cold that could definitely be the case. If you drive very fast and accelerate fast and drive over 75 mph it will definitely lower your mpg. I have been averaging 40 mph with mine and I live in North Carolina. I drive pretty conservatively most of the time and get great scores on my braking.
Hello, I am watching your videos from Türkiye. My 2012 diesel Ford C Max Titanium X vehicle sometimes does not turn at the first start but turns at the second. The mechanics do not look at it, they are afraid. Do you have the electrical diagram of this vehicle?
Does anyone know if you change the radio out to an after market system will this fuse problem still occur? If you don’t notice the radio stays on it will drain your battery overnight.
Dear Sir, My car model is a 2007 Ford C-Max Titanium. The radio/AC controller screen keeps flickering and does not work when I turn on the car, but after driving for hours, it starts working normally. The screen looks similar to yours, which is shown in the video. Could you please tell me what the problem is?
I removed the battery terminal for 5 min and started the car. The Sync was going through a maintenance cycle. When that ended the radio and sound were all working again. I find it easier to remove the battery terminal then to crawl my 6 ft body under the dash.
I had a issue were my car actually stopped responding to any change of volume inputs and would only connect to Bluetooth or the A/V port and this fixed that issue as well
I have used this procedure about 4 to 5 times in the 4 years I owned my C-Max. The last time it happened was 2 days ago. I was driving to work for the first time in months after working from home and I noticed the radio and voice control was not working. I didn't have time to pull the fuse so I said I do it after work. Unfortunately, the car battery drained, and luckily I was able to use my jump box to start the car and the radio was working again. But this time when I turned the radio off the station would still display on the main big screen and I could not get it clear. Also, I could not get into the audio controls on the screen. I pulled fuse 79 several times but that would not fix the screen from still showing the radio the last station played. I then pulled fuses 67 69 and 79 and then waited 5 minutes and that did the trick. Everything was back to normal and my car battery is fine the car has started the next 2 days with no issues and the radio and screen and voice controls are back to normal again. In the past just doing fuse 79 fixed the situation.
Surveillance Capitalism. The car is recording your data and sending it to archives. Tge system should be removed and sledge hammered. Problem solved ; )

Fantastic Advice! Went to a Ford Dealership. They expected it was the APIM module, $1100. While waiting saw your video. Tried it and it worked.

Thanks for this, I tried all the other fuses and they were fine, removing this fuse fixed the problem. Many thanks.
I had exactly the opposite problem, the radio didn't turn on even if the monitor was on, i did as showed on the video and it worked! Thanks!
Thank you so much! I thought I'd be spending a grand at the Ford dealership. Less than three minutes and fixed!!
You did an excellent job of explaining the fix. I did exactly what you said. Problem solved!
The 15 amp fuse worked to fix the radio problem, thank you

This worked beautifully, thank you so much!
Thank you very much. Helped tremendously.
It worked! Awesome video, thanks so much. Easy to understand and follow, and best of all - IT WORKED!!!
It was a different fuse on this 2013 but I just started pulling fuses till the radio went off and now it works like normal. Thank you.

Did you ever find a permanent fix for the issue with your C-max? I have the issue and the dealer is clueless (no surprise).

I have had to do this before, this time I do nor see a fuse 79. Any help out there?
Your a god man 😂 thanks for this video
What does fuse 79 control?

I have the same situation, the problem come back after few time? Or never more?
@@TheGJDB Was there every a final verdict on this? What is the permanent fix?
This also solves the opposite problem of the Audio OFF, and it won't turn on.
If this doesn't work try shutting your linked phone off prior to reset. My phone was causing this same problem.

Did not work
