    When I type 5 × tan(65) into my calculator, I get -7.35.
    Edit:
    My calculator was set to radians. If you're having the same issue, you may be able to change the calculator mode to degrees by pressing the "mode" button and selecting "degree." Alternatively, you can multiply the angle by 0.0174532924 (or π/180) to convert it to radians.
    radians = degrees × π ÷ 180
    degrees = radians × 180 ÷ π

      I had the exact same issue, my friend.
      I have a TI-84 graphing calculator. The default MODE has trigonometric functions set to be in Radians. Though Radians is the unit standard, Khan Academy is doing the equations in Degrees. I sadly had to figure this out on my own, and had to suffer getting the first question wrong of the practice problem as well. Simply go into mode and change the setting from Radians to Degrees and you will get the correct answer.

    Hi... My question is :
    Is it possible to find height and length (or one of these) of a right angle triangle if we are given only an angle (say 35 degrees) of the triangle? (Without googling on internet!!)
    E.g I know the angle of a satellite (say) AsiaSat 105.5deg E is 34deg (angle of elv) and want to find the height and distance of this satellite from the Earth?

    I tried checking it by finding (b) first so i just wrote down 11.8 there then I tried finding (a) to check it, when I used sin=opp/hyp so what i did was 11.8×sin65=a/11.8×11.8 so I canceled 11.8 of a/11.8 (11.8×sin65=a) then the answer was 10.6944318866.

    • @CreeperInDisguise

    How did he isolate a at 2:09?

    • @ecashman
      @ecashman 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      He multipled the fraction (a/5) by 5 so that it cancelled the 5 in the denominator out.
      EX.) a/5 times 5/1 equals 5a/5. The five in the numerator and the five in the denominator cancel each other out, leaving you with (a) left over.

    • @adrianadiaz4209
      @adrianadiaz4209 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Water Bottle because for tan it’s opp divided by adj and the adj had already been given so you only needed to find the opp. For cos you divide the adj by the hyp but we were given the adj and not the hyp, so you needed to solve for the hyp. sorry that no one answered your question until a year later 😔

      Domain is all the x-coordinates. Range is all the Y-coordinates.. For example, look at the following sets of ordered pairs.
      (3,6) (9,2) (4,5) (0,1)
      So the domains are:-
      3,9,4,and 0
      And the ranges are:-
      6,2,5,and 1
