Dr. Robert Gates is undoubtedly one of my biggest inspirations in both scouting and everyday life. After researching his life story I can say that our country is in dire need of leaders like him. I tried to meet him at NOAC to talk with him but it turns out he had already left before I could speak to him :(

That is there job. With out professional Scouter's you would not have a scouting program. Who's going to run the local Council? Whos going to run the scout shops were all the boy get there uniforms etc? Yes volunteers run a lot too. But you need some one for the volunteers to fall back to. Why don't you learn some more about what professional Scouter's such as districts executives, camp Rangers and others get paid and do before you say they should give back all there pay.

Dr. Gates is inspirational, thought-provoking and is the personification of Duty to God and Country. He demonstrates leadership at its finest.

Because the average Professional scouter barely gets by but keeps working in the scouting program because the believe in it.
