Oh man. I’m going to Paris (DISNEY) in October 2018 (and a first in Europe in general). Wanna do other stuff, didn’t realize that England was that accessible until now. Thanks to your video you’ve broadened my horizons.
I have always been very scared of this idea. (The bit where you’re actually under water or whatever :’) but actually this video has enlightened me to the fact that this isn’t much different than a usual train! Thanks so much!
Not as scary as the idea of being on a ball of rock spinning at 1,000mph, 93,000,000 miles away from a star that’s one of 200,000,000,000,000,000,000 in the known universe! *That’s* a scary idea.
It's really not scary. It's like going into a normal tunnel. Eat breakfast while you're crossing the channel to take your mind off it. We travel from home (50 miles north of London), eat breakfast at the station before boarding, then travel to the Swiss Alps (Grindelwald) or Turin and get to our hotel easily in time for dinner.
Great Video quality and information, Its has given me rewind of the sweet memory of a journey with Eurostar in the year 2018 from the same station in London.

I feel so stupid. My girlfriend and me actually went from Paris to London by bus. It took forever. We had to wait like 2 hours to get into the shuttle train. And it took another 30 Minutes until all of the busses entered the train. The whole trip took 8 hours. I would have happily paid three times as much if I'd have known about it... xD
@@ce1834 When we returned from London to Düsseldorf (Germany) we took the ferry. It also took quite a long time. My girlfriend was also sea sick. It was just generally a stupid idea to travel to both Paris and London by Bus within a weak. We were so trashed when we came back. Flix Bus is really cheap but 2 of the three bus drivers were actual lunatics. The first one was a drunk Russian who had to slam the breaks at a high curvy bridge because he almost fell off and then a arabic french guy kept giving a scary speech about how we're all gonna die and I literally fell down to my knees in Paris to thank God. The second bus driver was an arabic french guy as well and he was speeding past everything like a lunatic. If I'd have known that the Thalys?-train from Cologne to Paris would only take 2,5 hours I would have taken that as well.
Definitely my experience in Puerto Rico was excellent and wonderful, the super friendly people, the beaches, something about natural, the super exquisite restaurants, the super luxurious hotels. extremely large parks and very impressive museums I would definitely recommend the very impressive science park. It's a shame we don't have something like this in the United States, But I feel the comments bashing the U.S. and saying we spend all our taxes on military are not quite true. The U.S. had a great rail system at one point. Before the early 60s, Private Railroads ran passenger services and rail travel was comfortable and fast (by 50s standards). However, with automobiles becoming ever more popular after the second World War, and the implementation of Interstate Highways, less people began to travel on trains in exchange for cars. Cars were easier for point to point travel, as many American railways were built during westward expansion, and therefore the routes were sporadic as towns sprung up on the frontier at random places (Unlike in Europe, where cities and towns were all already there, and all one had to do was connect them directly). Another blow to the industry was Air Travel. Americans quickly became fascinated with Air Travel, and companies forced marketing anywhere they could, knowing that it would dominate long distance travel. By the 1960s, passenger services with private railroads had shrank in number and size. Railroads were going bankrupt and eventually in the 1970s, the government stepped in, buying passenger equipment off of the surviving railroads and forming what is now known as Amtrack. There are a number of issues with Amtrack, but the two biggest ones are track rights, and funding. Amtrack doesn't actually own many lines. Most of the times the trains are running on tracks belonging to other railroads, meaning the other companies can prioritize their trains over Amtrack trains, meaning Amtrack trains will have to stop for freights to pass (unlike the opposite back in the 50s). The other issue is funding. Americans, as many already know, hate taxes. Since very few actually travel with Amtrack, why would politicians want to put tax money into it when they could spend it on other things (which can get them re-elected, which is the number one priority of every politician regardless of what party they side with). So yes, the U.S. is behind... very behind in some aspects, but I feel that much of it is because most Americans simply don't care about a high speed rail network. Let's be honest, Americans love automobiles, probably more so than other countries. We'd rather spend it on things like military, fixing our existing roads and railways, welfare, food stamps, immigrants and refugees, and paying off the massive amounts of debt we owe to other countries. And lets not forget the big salaries our politicians get along with their lifelong pension (something that they don't need). So if a majority of Americans don't want one then so be it. The world is not going to light into a ball of flames just because the U.S. spends their money on other things.
Travel by train or public transport leaves lesser carbon footprints than traveling by automobiles and planes. So if you believe in saving your planet , encourage your citizens to use public transport as much as possible.
Do it. It's very good. We always travel from Ebbsfleet in Kent, which saves travelling into London. (Drive there and leave the cart in the BIG car park.
I went in its first year of operation about 20 years ago, way before wifi etc. Still enjoyed my weekend thete would love to go again soon. Bought back great memories, not changed that much realky
To be fair to the Americans, America is such a big country and also an airplane country! Europe (Britain) invented the train and is smaller so trains are part of the fabric as planes being invented in America are part of American fabric. I like the Amtrack from San Diego to Santa Barbara, lovely ride!
I get your point but connecting some major cities is a lot more profitable and climate friendly then flying. Like Houston Dallas , LA-SF or some East Coast major cities. This video explains it pretty well : th-cam.com/video/AyJEQjabJjI/w-d-xo.html
Wow, very luxurious train station, magnificent, the train is also very luxurious. In my country, Indonesia, the train is still mostly old trains. Thank you sir, hopefully your channel will be more successful.
This was filmed two days after my Eurostar trip to Paris. I booked the trip months in advance. Once boarded, I arrived at my seat to find someone already sitting in it. Thankfully, the couple returning to France spoke pretty good English and comparing tickets we somehow both had the same carriage and seat number. The conductor did not speak English and was of no help. I boarded the train again and simply looked for an empty seat and hoped it was not already taken. The train trip to Paris was nice, but I found Gare du Nord rather dirty. The return trip to London was nice. If I were to do it again, I would book in First Class.
Gare du Nord really is quite dirty. Neither charles de gaulle airport or Gare du Nord don't really give you the best first experience of Paris. They are over doubling the size of Gare du Nord and revamping the whole old part before the Paris Olympics in 2024.
I did this trip earlier this year...thanks so much to your website, we were able to get around Western Europe entirely by train. I can't recommend your website highly enough!
Me and my boyfriend will be going to Paris vía Eurostar in April for 4 days we have first class :D we’ll be traveling to London from Liverpool first tho with virgin trains and staying at my sisters house in Greenwich the night before our trip.
Thank you so much for making an otherwise daunting and nerve wracking trip across Europe so foolproof and stress free! You're a hero

Someday, after COVID-19 pandemic, I'll be able to travel again, and will try Eurostar.

I am going next summer!!
Do it. It's very good. We always travel from Ebbsfleet in Kent, which saves travelling into London. (Drive there and leave the cart in the BIG car park.
I had no idea this was even a thing!!! Will have to check it out with my Eurail pass
I shall be able to go on one of these one day to Paris.... I could get a good breakfast there... and wifi too! That's a great video you have done
video one
I went in its first year of operation about 20 years ago, way before wifi etc. Still enjoyed my weekend thete would love to go again soon.
Bought back great memories, not changed that much realky
London to Paris by Eurostar e320, nice train video
Maravilhoso! From São Paulo Brazil
I like your video Mark Smith. Like the style of filming. Good shoots
Very impressive video footage, thanks for sharing
Beautiful strain great presentation thanks
To be fair to the Americans, America is such a big country and also an airplane country! Europe (Britain) invented the train and is smaller so trains are part of the fabric as planes being invented in America are part of American fabric. I like the Amtrack from San Diego to Santa Barbara, lovely ride!
I get your point but connecting some major cities is a lot more profitable and climate friendly then flying. Like Houston Dallas , LA-SF or some East Coast major cities. This video explains it pretty well : th-cam.com/video/AyJEQjabJjI/w-d-xo.html
There's a new Amtrak Avelia Liberty.
@@Just_another_Euro_dude fair point. I’d have thought America should have bullet trains. Unsure why not.
Best trip with my little daughter to Paris from London . 👌🎂🎄👍🎁🏩

Wow, very luxurious train station, magnificent, the train is
also very luxurious. In my country, Indonesia, the train is still mostly old
trains. Thank you sir, hopefully your channel will be more successful.
Very good video. You covered all of the highlights very concisely.
Greetings from the Royal family of United States, england. How are you and where are you from.??
A few ppl didn't know about the tunnel that Connects UK And france.
U mean euro tunnel which connects the uk and france through tunnel
Really liked the video I wondered what it was like because I really want to take a trip from England to Paris
What a fancy train. We decided to fly from Paris to London, but next time we'll definitely take a train.
I read all about the UK and Europe train travel on seat61 before my trip there in 2017. Very informative and helpful.
An amazing video has not made me scared to go on that train now so thank you 😀
Great video. Nice details. It seems I'm on board. Thank you!
Very informative and well produced.
Traveling is a part of Education. I had too much traveled in past years. My was officer in Railways in India. Indian Railways gave facilities.

Wow, this is so interesting 😁😁 First class looked awesome!

big like. thumbs up!!!
2:23 that looks good! I have had this lunch before it’s tasty isint it?
Only wish we had the same fast train service in Canada, great video...
Canada is a very big and cold country, so railways would be a lot more challenging, but it would be awesome if we somehow made a channel from Canada to Europe.
Canadastar?
Your videos are great! I really enjoy the information and extra facts you give. What country do you plan to do next? Maybe some more of Eastern Europe??? Thanks for the entertainment.
I speak that country
