I live there and watched the carp decline at a hell of a rate for the last 5 years. Used to feed them floaters out the side hatch everyday. Lucky to see one or two now. Otters are about around there and regularly bang down the side of the boat at around 2am. It’s fucked now.
Also to add we used to get really pissed off with any televised fishing on this stretch. Our boats are not a feature to fish to and be reminded two of the the three marinas are no fishing zones. I’m pleased this was televised though as it will show people that there really are hardly any carp left so they won’t bother coming here.
This one reminds me of dad when we were practising with farnborough for the 2006 junior national on the Basingstoke canal! We caught roach and skimmers on squat over groundbait, he caught 3 double figure carp on pellet and corn 😂
Absolutely brilliant video Andy ,really enjoyed it and learned loads ,caught my first fish at aston in 1964 2oz roach I'm now 69 still match fish getting hard now especially fishing long but still love it.cheers mate and good luck in all your big matches in the near future.
Bream machine! Great film, good fun I enjoyed it thank you. Just curious why line info has changed, I'm now 50 and haven't fished for decades (birding took over - binos/scope out the door - simples) what the heck is 0.20 etc I used to fish 4lb mainline to 2lb hook length for example, not into this diameter guff. Also didn't look like you turned up at 4am i.e. carp o'clock. Btw The Gudgeon Specimen Group looks like a prestigious and noble organization, fantastic, keeping angling alive, if I do take up the sport again I will be targeting the magical 2 ouncer.
Lads get on the Easington and Wyrley canal at woodlane Pelsall in walsall it's full of good carp there's also loads of bream and tench too loved this video shame you guys didn't find 1
Just found this video and your channel absolutely epic good try guys don't give up on the canal carp, the only one I've hooked had a second burst of energy and snapped my hooklink on the grand union as it was approaching the landing net was gutted same thing on a river yet gravel pits or lakes they always end up in the back of the net❤
What a film fella. I’d doff my hat to you, but i don’t wear one, 😂😂 A video where you haven’t caught a lot, except a lot of peoples imagination. I was absolutely gutted when Matt lost that last fish, my heart sank. Fantastic you kept the fella in with the Gudgeon society. What a bloke he is. Anyway I don’t have either of you as quitters! When’s part 2 out?
Brilliant! I qualified for fisho on the GU, fishing for carp and i won with 27lb of bream! Oh, and i tried to unclip at Barston the other week, and broke at the clip! And got battered by Rooney of the next peg! #blanks, all been there, @Blinder
used to be stacks and stacks of em at cheds, had 20 plus in a day up there 7/8 years ago, sadly the otters have smashed the granny out of it last 5 years.
@@TackleguruTV still a few there mate, just not in the abundance they once was. 10 years ago you could have 10-15 doubles - mid 20s in a day session just fishing bags up against the barges you were at and the marina to the right on the sneaky😉 try the red lion stretch marsworth just down the road. still plenty in there fellas all the best, still great content and well enjoyed.
Frustrating for you to lose them fish but way it goes sometimes, if fishing was always easy itd be boring. Sure you boys will smash it next time round.
Love the video but have to disagree with your comment about being able to fish anytime you like on a canal. You can't! Most stretches of our canals are leased by clubs and fishing is restricted or day tickets have to be bought from shops etc. some distance away when open. Have just subscribed and rang the bell. Barry from Essex.
Don't salt the steak before you put it in the pan ffs. The salt will draw all the moisture from the middle and it won't cook evenly, best to salt part way through cooking
This was brilliant. :) The gudgeon hahahaha
🤣 gaga for gudgeon

HI CARL!!

That’s one of the best things I’ve seen for ages had me in stitches😂😂 “pass him here see if I can catch a perch with him” brilliant!!
Love the banter guy's, you make fishing less serious and funny. 🤣🤣🤣
Glad you enjoy it!
Absolutely love watching these 2 guys. They crack me up everytime 😂😂😂
Glad you enjoyed the video
Absolutely brilliant, can’t help but laugh…..so funny them pair !! 🤣😂🤣
I luvz you two! Great media, thanks all.

The best carp movie made by two match anglers, so refreshing.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Felt all the emotions there boys loved it . This is why we do it 😊

You don't wanna fish for canal carp with weak line
Got to love Matt & Tank
appreciate that

Definitely one for the future
@TackleguruTV trust me it's solid I've fished my local cut since I was 9 I'm 40 this year I've had 1000s of tench and hundreds of carp
Even the best of the best of mere mortals.
awsome video guys🎣
Isn’t that the same stretch and swims Rooney and Macey fished before?
It is yes, great spot

whens the whips at toad hall coming. love the matt and tank canal vids.
Sheffield canal is the place to be if you can find em👀😎👌🏼
Was that the theam music from the older Wingways videos at the end of this (cracking) video?? Could this be a clue to a video coming up??
Possibly

The lads were Gutted after this trip, From Rimmer
@TackleguruTV yea I bet they was, they will crack it next time
The thumbnail is amazing
Appreciate that 💥
Nicely filmed Rimmer. Bad luck fellas but the highlight for me was Tank's steak sarnie , I could have ripped that out of his hand.
We will have to come back and try again at some point

Rooney did mention that he beat you Nige 😉
sounded like a spitfire going over
Hi hello can you please tell me what part or the section? Of the grand Canal, where are you Fishing ? As I live in Birmingham thank you 🤩
Its in a place Called Tring, its about an hour south of Birmingham
@@TackleguruTV thank you 🙏
It’s cooks wharf. I don’t mind telling you as there’s bugger all carp left.
Loving the licking of the fingers after catching a load of slimey bream. Looks like a nice steak sandwich though..
Adds to the flavour of the sandwich haha
Quality that lads, fellow ginger here good advice on the factor 50😅
You can never be too safe
Amazing
Gurus next new product deluxe chair 😊
I have ideas for good river chair
Look at you 2 dapper gents.
Improvement?
@@TackleguruTV When the occasion allows, you have to turn up the heat every now and then.
Didn’t dean Macey and Adam Rooney fish that stretch for carp?
Yes, many years ago and annoyingly they caught some fish...
Look more like Sherlock Holmes than Peaky Blinders lol😂
Tring......go there....
used to be stacks and stacks of em at cheds, had 20 plus in a day up there 7/8 years ago, sadly the otters have smashed the granny out of it last 5 years.

The one that got away always makes the best stories...right?
Hey Matt , are you related to Craig Cash ?
Can someone tell Matt that he needs to land the carp not just get the bite from it 😅
Avoid factor 50 as it clogs pores and you are prone to burning, stick to factor 30 as its the safer option
Back in the day them trent gudgeon would pull your rod over
Snagged bros should of bin in this one for the theme beings thou they black country lads
I think they'd have caught a few carp! We are useless
@TackleguruTV Nah them boys useless too!
Bloody funny tho 😂😅
Old fella with his ten bag scales and no matt

Barry from Essex.
Sorry lads that stretch of canal used to be full of carp 10 years ago but the Eastern Europeans netted it
It’s because this stretch has a public access car park. They’ve rinsed it dry and the otters had the rest. It’s done now.
It is always easy to say: "ohh it was because of THEM"
@@_Lorant_ they do it everywhere, my local small lake has the filthy bastards nicking them in bin bags, awful people
Why don't you eat one of the fish you catched instead of Steak?🤔

No reason to use barbed hooks these days
Lads. You couldn't write it. Gudgeon basher
I tried watching peaky blinders but it went all woke. Couldn't stand it
