- Ratchanok Intanon is the first badminton player from Thailand to achieve the World no 1 ranking in singles in badminton. She also holds the record for being the youngest World Champion ever, at just 18 years old. She started from a very modest background, both her parents were workers at the Banthongyord sweet factory. Her calm and humble character, and beautiful playing style have won the hearts of many badminton fans around the world.

I love her, she is the only player who pay respect and gratitude to the audiences and the judge after every match regardless win or lose. I havent see any other players did so.

Being able to watch her play against Tai Tzu Ying live in the stadium few days back for Malaysia Masters was just incredibly amazing. Tho it was a bit sad that not much people's on her side supporting her, only a few including me, cheered for her. I screamed so loud and cried when she finally won that last match against TTY. That emotion and that situation, I will never forget that for my whole life. She's also the most humble and polite player among all of others I've ever met in person. 😍

Her mum and dad was very poor when she born, her parents worked in Thai desert factory and they also lived in factory with other workers as well. When she was about 6 years, in factory was not safe for young kids to run around because they made Thai sweets and surrounding by boiling sugar and hot stoves , so her parents boss took her and other kids their owned badminton court near by factory for playing while their parents working., no one know one day she would became one of female world Champion badminton player. Growing up seeing your parents out of money that driving her to play better.
I can't believe it .when someone 11-18 down but won the game 21-18 against Carolina Marin. she is Ratchanok Intanon, anything is possible.she is very humble and polite lady.
And today’s Indonesian Open Final Against An Se Young: 12-20 to 20-20. Greatest ever. Champion, she is, mentally.
Ratchanok has always been my favourite player. Humble, sweet having so much of quality play in her . 💝
Also, Ratchanok was 12-18 down against Li Xuerui in the first game of the 2013 World Championships final. She came back to win the game 21-19, and then won the match.

She is truly incredible, I had to shed a few tears when she first won that match and cried herself and when against carolina marin, her comeback encouraged her coach to cheer her on.

What about when she was down 12-19 in the 1st set of 2013 world championship - she went on to take that set 22-20 which was CRUCIAL in that match against the defending Olympic champ Li Xuerui!!

Not about May, but actually, getting from 14-17 against TTY is very much possible. I mean, Lindaweni Fanetri snatched 8 points in a row, 14-20 down against Tai Tzu Ying herself to clinch medal in 2015 World Championships. But well, that was 2015 TTY, 2017-2018 TTY was such a formidable opponent
