These guys have been one of my favorite bands since early 2018. Trust me: once you get into them, it's gonna be the most cryptic band you'll know.
seriously, tyler has such a way with hiding hints and references to past and future projects plus his story telling abilities it’s actually crazy.

@@bongzilla4172 Generally it was okay... the bad parts really involve Cara Delevingne which dragged the whole thing down. It was just awkward and weird with that semi-dance walk thing she did it was just odd and distracting.

I don’t listen to the radio due to my career. Now, if I’m in someone else’s car it’s possible but it’s usually hip hop. The patterns sounded familiar though. 🤷♂️

As someone else that recently found Twenty One Pilots, I'm super impressed with them. It is surprising that in 2023 a new style of music could be found,. *mind blown* Their eclectic style pulls from every type of music, and yet the songs and their sound is still unique. Everyone of their songs is worth checking out.
THIS! I am 52. I have seen them live with my 25 yo daughter from the pit five times. Also learning drums as a productive middle aged ‘crisis’ because of Josh.
Best live show I’ve ever seen. Would love to see you delve into them. They don’t put out a bad song.
I love watching people learn about TØP. They are phenomenal musicians. My fave music reactions on TH-cam are the ones discovering TØP and Em and their intricate lore.
This song was everywhere because of suicide squad (well and because of how good TOP are...), I worked security at the time it came out and I'd hear it almost every day on my way to work on the radio.
A friend I went to high school with directed this music video and it makes me feel very cool

Twenty One Pilots will always hold a special place in my heart. My brother actually introduced me to the band(not personally, but showed me the music.) and not too long after he actually passed away. Side note: There are 2 different Suicide Squad movies. The later one directed by James Gunn titled "The Suicide Squad" is generally thought of as the better movie. This song Heathens comes from the earlier movie simply titled "Suicide Squad."

Tyler k bc owns how to write hooks and catchy melodies. His lyrics are always deep though and vague enough to be interpreted by each listener in their own way. AMAZING MUSIC AND AMAZING CONCERTS!!!

I like a couple of their songs. Best concert i ever saw was Don Felder opening for Styx/Foreigner. At the end, they all came out together to play Hotel California.

when suicide squad approached them about doing the lead song for the movie, Tyler said he would only make the song if it makes sense to his fans - he wasn't going to make a song just about the movie
this song is really about the twenty one pilots fanbase - it's sort of a warning to the new fans who just hopped on board after they put out two huge hits
tyler presented this song to suicide squad expecting them not to want it and so he would just put it on their next album - but suicide squad hopped on it - it works within the context of the movie as well so worked out for everybody (and it was a huge hit)
They also just released a live version of the song mashed up with Stranger Things and have a great live video for that

Came for Ren battle diss, but saw this post and was surprised you haven't heard more. I love how they usually have a catchy beat juxtaposed with deep lyrics that are easy to overlook.
Suicide Squad (2016) had a 26% 🍅, but The Suicide Squad (movie 2 in 2021 had 90% 🍅). Love this song, but "Car Radio" is by far my favorite Twenty One Pilots song. "Stressed Out" and "Ride" are awesome and very popular, but I think you would really like "Lane Boy" lyrically and "HeavyDirtySoul" sonically. If you ask one of the Skeleton Clique what to listen to, they'll specify an order because there are big and bigger story arcs across TØP albums, but most of their songs stand on their own. Oh, and they are amazing live. While I think their official videos are important to watch for first views, you can often get around copyright issues by watching their live stuff.

Be prepared if you get into these boys. Tyler is a genius who has built an entire universe from the beginning of his career. We fans are totally immersed in that universe and the lore involved.
I read it heard that the movie people came to Tyler and asked if he'd write a song for the movie. He said he'd write a song and they could take it or leave it but he wasn't going to write it to their suggestions. He may have thought they wouldn't take it but I didn't think it was a joke, like someone else said. I don't know for sure, I could be wrong. Plus when they are interviewed, they don't always answer questions truthfully. They sometimes make up stories- like how they meet. It's a great song no matter what it's origins or purpose was?
Twenty One Pilots are my favorite band, the lyrics, the harmonies, the beat, its's all there. The only playlist larger than Twenty One Pilots that I have is The Beatles

The first Suicide Squad wasn't that bad. It is awkward in some places and over the top in others , but given the subject matter it is sort of supposed to be. The crappy part involves Cara Delevingne as the Enchantress which really distracts from the movie.
A lot of people have heard this song very much like the national anthem but do not understand the meaning. The heathens that he is speaking of are the fans that were twenty One pilot fans from the beginning. And the basic meaning of the song is that you do not understand the people who are now new 21 pilot fans. You do not understand what they are going through. It's kind of like saying you hear Aerosmith and now you are all of a sudden a fan. Basically what Tyler is saying is that do not judge the new fans because they might have the same mental issues that you know you didn't know you had such as being psychos and killers. So basically do not judge.

There are two different Suicide Squad movies, yeah. The more recent one was awesome, thats the one with Idris Elba. The older one is a popcorn movie, it's fine, but nowhere near the quality of the 2nd one. That first movie happens to be the one that "Heathens" is attached to, though.
The live version stranger things mix is amazing!! Should definitely check that out

I have loved both Suicide Squad movies. I swear I remember 21 Pilots on the radio in the 90s, and it was much more a rock sound then. Maybe I'm wrong?

It’s not a ‘great’ movie, but I did enjoy it. Some of the cast gave great performances & the soundtrack was fantastic.
Suicide Squad is a great movie for what it is, which is an action supervillains movie with great action scenes and over the top supervillains.
The only thing wrong with Suicide Squad is the version of the Joker they went with. It's not the Joker from the Batman franchise.

I liked the Suicide squad yes it does not follow the comic much but it was good non the less
I personally loved the movie, never don't watch/listen to something based off of reviews/critics because those are all subjective and are always based off of their likes/opinions, at the very least check it out at least once

I watched the movie because I knew Twenty-one pilots had a song in it, but the two are not really related. The song only comes on with the credits. As for the movie, I think it was entertaining enough, but not something I would recommend.

Suicide Squad was a weird movie to be honest. Some of their decisions for how they made the movie was questionable. The Joker for instance was portrayed very badly. He was basically a sane person trying to act crazy while the actual character is supposed to be crazy trying to be normal. The stand out being only Harley Quinn.
I am not a fan of these guys. But this song was just good shit

Suicide Squad is very overhated mostly by Marvel fans who do not understand different themes/tones of DC movies
i liked the movie at first but then the second time around i hated it after i started to realize how sexualized the quinn actress was and some more BTS stuff
rotten tomatoes is a terrible source for reviews , never listen to reviews since I can guarantee you they are filled with personal bias .
Just watch everything which slightly interests you and form you own opinion.
