There's that KR/CN challenger Trynd named XiaoHao that specifically against Malphite he goes Sundered Sky + Eclipse with the grasp setup. Since I don't know chinese I can only assume he wants to maximize short trades against Malphite. Makes some sense but it's quite not that good 1v1 people in side lanes I guess is just his playstyle as well.
Oh yeah I've seen that build, haven't tried it yet but it does make sense I guess

Your message is true. He can be beaten. But this doesnt feel like one of the easier match ups.
Definitely not one of the easiest but if you were to create two categories : easy or hard, I'd put it in easy

Ahah I used to then I understood the trick : you need to put yourself in his shoes. Once you understand what's coming next dodging his sweet spots becomes fairly easy
Why do you use dematerializer only on ranged minnions and not all of them? Is it more worth to get 12% instead of 6% on all 3 types?
I don't use it for extra damage (I will have enough after 1 item). I use it to gain time and get demolish procks or good bases when I'm not supposed to be able to
is it me or are you able to attack minions with target champions only toggled on?
You can with attack move click, the only issue is that sometimes I have target champions only on and still use attack move click only, thus miss my autos sometimes
This game isn’t a good showcase of the match up. They gave away the early game with that terrible gank giving you 2 free kills off the rip. You were 6-0 and still ended up dying to malph. The malphite didn’t even rush bramble after seeing you rush sustain.
Ok, I can give you that, more is coming that was my first Malphite matchup in a long time that's why I wanted to post it, I have some other that are way more "conventional" and you'll see that I still beat him pretty hard 1v1, without ganks, with good items and runes etc etc

I feel like the boring excuse isn't valid. Since when did you care about "boring" over effectiveness? And besides there are plenty of "boring" tank matchups.
Simply put, I think Malph is uniquely difficult for Trynd and it's not surprising that malph is widely considered to be a counter matchup. I suspect the stats agree!
I never did click bait and never will ! Since I stopped banning Malphite 2 weeks ago I faced 13 and won 9 times, it's 69% not 80% I'll give you that and the sample is pretty smol, but I 100% maintain that Malphite is easier than hard.
What makes a hard matchup ? I believe a matchup is hard if the outcome of both players playing perfectly is being behind, wich is true vs Vayne, vs teemo, vs Darius, but not vs Malphite. If we both play pixel perfect I'll have a lead, then outimpact, so it's clearly not a tough matchup.
I usually don't care about boring but last time I went for the ban again was because I had no other crazy bans (not scared of jax nor fiora), and I remember facing him a shit ton of times which is actually ineffective since I'm only working on one aspect of the game that I know really well already
