- James McCartney - Paul McCartney's only son from his marriage to Linda - is on Lorraine for an exclusive performance to promote his debut album and UK tour. Here we see James performing the track Angel.
This March, multi-instrumentalist James will embark on his first ever UK tour. If these shows are anything like his 2009 warm-up shows, the audience are in for a night of blistering rock tunes. His songs are melody driven, hook laden anthems that show songwriting clearly runs in the family.
James has been playing music all his life. In 2009 he played a handful of shows in the UK and the US. He's spent much of the last two years writing and recording for his forthcoming debut album which he has been working on with producer David Kahne. Talking about his music James says, "The music was inspired by The Beatles, Nirvana, The Cure, PJ Harvey, Radiohead - and all good music. It is basically rock n' roll, clean sounding and vocal. The words on the album refer to spirituality, love, family, trying to sort out one's life, and many other things. I have written the songs over a 10-year period."

Gloria he simply does not have to live up to his Fathers high standards, that would make Paul a Tyrant which I don;t think he is. James could do anything he wants given the family money, he should go and start a business or something or buy a Chip Shop and run it, or even do absolutely nothing for the rest of his life. He's C H O S E N to trade off the family name and heritage and consequently put himself "Out There" for public scrutiny. It was a choice for him, not out of need or even passion in my opinion because I think he's left it too late and the only reason he gets a look-in on the telly is because of Sir Paul, no other reason. He really did not inherit his Fathers looks at that age either. I have always wished that the four kids of The Beatles would get together and form a band and write songs together, James McCartney, Julian Lennon, Dhani Harrison and Zak Starkey who has been playing drums with The Who. they all individually have talent. but might even be stronger as a band, and who knows. maybe they would have some magic together. but one things for sure, it would peak the interest of the world. and the music would be checked out by millions.

Rather his blank expression is a mirror, for you to look at yourself and let the music transform you. It's an entirely new direction in music.

I think he actually has a great commercial voice. Seems quite shy and reserved though. Not very charismatic as the fans might need him to be or the agents and promoters. Definitely does have musical talent though.
