i also know some of the lyrics are slightly wrong in places but i spent half an hour editing and making this so you can understand me not wanting to change one or two words after doing the whole thing.

This is probably my favorite acoustic version of any song.
When i saw them live years ago, they started with this accoustic version and switched to the original mid song and it was awesome! I prefer the accoustic though

As far as i know the piano version hasn't been played live, but i do recall an acoustic guitar intro, and then like 1 minute or so in the song the whole band jumps in.

First time listening to this since probably 2014. Wow, this hits hard the nostalgia is insane
prefer this version better tbh. that being said, both show different emotions associated with it all. anger and pain, almost like different steps in the fight. anger comes first, trying to knock sense into the person, the pain coming towards the end as the fight is being lost, all the while still using the same words, because the feelings never change, just the outlook. (imo at least)

The words are towards a friend whos struggling with drug addiction, the hell and pain they are going through hes watching his friend(s) kill themselves slowly, the last fight means the final attempt and helping a friend(s) through their problem before he gives up

5 days sober from heroin, almost 6. I quit cold turkey by myself at home. My fiance is sick or me using and relapsing and my kids aren't seeing the real me anymore. I for some reason just can't believe there is a God no matter how hard I try, but I've been praying a lot for more strength to keep going and not relapse. This is the farthest I've gone without heroin in 7 months.

i think its about a two lovers who both have changed (like how you said) and she wants to leave but she can't and he thinks the same way so he will fight for love one more time but he's not fighting their relationship (I'm not the enemy) he's fighting the enemy of them which is not caring anymore
