The definition of an essential 60’s hard rock anthem. All 3 members are universally acknowledged as among the very best of all time at drums, lead guitar, and bass guitar. Top tier. Cream.

I love it when I know a song is KICK ASS and someone listening to it for the first time is hesitant at the beginning...then there's that moment where it picks up and you can see on their face they've decided it's awesome.
    You didn't disappoint!

Hey, I saw CREAM and had to watch this!
Thanks for a fire reaction, I really loved the way you went deep into this tune…
Yeah this is one helluva song from that time…I reckon you’ll appreciate more of their catalogue.
Eric Clapton, using his sweet wah wah pedal on this guitar solo, Jack Bruce on vocals, Ginger Baker on drums…they are legends, all three of them, and those psychedelic rock times were heady ones…
White Room - a sterile place free from disturbance and pollution - the lyrics refer to what went on in their lives at that time; trying to change unhealthy relationships, also one of them had started going clean from alcohol/drugs, trying to set up a new life -it referred to all sorts of things. The Black Roof Country - a part of town where the trains run through and all the roofs are black from soot and dust and fumes…. Also in the end it also was meant to have some mystery to it :)
That track featured in the 2019 Joker movie with Heath Ledger - I think in some other movies as well….
I hope you’ll enjoy diving into the Cream catalog, especially Eric Clapton’s. He’s truly one of my biggest guitar heroes, saw him live in concert and he blew me away!!
Another group you would really enjoy: Dirty Loops, a contemporary trio from Sweden.
“Work Shit Out” -a truly amazing track of theirs (link below.)
The way you listen to music, eyes closed and vibing along, I’m sure you’ll be blown away by these three dudes 🔥🔥🔥 I’d LOVE to hear what you think of them :D
    Thanks BizMatic 👍🙏☺️

Cream's catalogue is absolutely worth diving into, they are one of the most influential bands of the 20th century. They were one of, if not the first psychedelic rock band. Eric Clapton on guitar and backup vocals, Ginger Baker on drums, and Jack Bruce on bass and lead vocals, all of them masters at their instruments. If you come back to them, I recommend checking out Tales Of Brave Ulysses or Strange Brew.

"Tales of Brave Ulysses" from "Live Cream: Volume II" sets the bar for proto-metal, and Eric Clapton's wah-wah solo will melt your face. th-cam.com/video/I32Wwfv8v1U/w-d-xo.html

Just in case you didn't know Biz, they were called cream because they were the cream of the crop of British musicians at this time.

Love Cream, totally worth diving into, they are truly legendary despite only having 3 albums worth of material...this song is probably about something specific, but the psychedelic lyrical rambling is majestic, one can actually feel the late '60s hippie love-fest grooves..."far out man, far out!"

  • @bnparts90
    @bnparts90 2 ปีที่แล้ว +19

The wah wah pedal was the newest cool thing that Clapton was using. Their catalog IS Rock history. They weren't together very long, but they put out some great music. Video of "Sunshine of your Love" is a must see and "Tales of Brave Ulysses" is another must see.

Yeah I vividly remember my dad sorting out the seeds in his stash while this song filled the room. LOL. The good ole 70s (although I believe this song was released in 1968). Love me some Clapton. Great pick!

Cream were my favourites as a teenager in the 1960s. They didn’t make many albums as they were only around for a couple of years 1966-68. Really they only had four albums during their lifetime, Fresh Cream, Disraeli Gears, Wheels of Fire & Goodbye. Wheels of Fire was a double album, one studio, one live. Goodbye was a single album with a mixture of studio and live cuts. After that there were a couple of official live albums released and since then some more live albums surfaced, but for me nothing beats the live album from Wheels of Fire. Happy listening.

This album came out when I was a young girl. Cream was amazing! Eric Clapton and Ginger Baker continued to create together. Part of the British invasion, as the media dubbed it, had a circle back relationship with America. Our blues history and Motown music were definitely acknowledged as major influences for many bands. Eric Clapton was nicknamed slow hand, an ironic nod to his unbelievable skills. I still sing this to myself (as an old lady 😹) one, because it's fun and also the pictures it paints in one's mind are such a trip. Dark moods happen yet few can deliver a gift such as this in reflection. Thank you for sharing young man! 😽💋🎶

Just to continue song by song. This song + the full Album Disraeli Gears. To make the impression of a generally educated person this is one of the more important groups of the late 60s you should have heard... cream is the substance floating on the top.
    Peace love flower power

Another great reaction Biz, it's so fun to see you really get into the music. The lyrics are mysterious to me too, but you can blame that on the times. People were high af.

When I first heard of Clapton, it was Layla. The soft version. Throughout my journey listening to everything, I eventually found out this bad ass solo was the same Clapton. Clapton was a badass on guitar from the getgo.

Cream: Eric Clapton on guitars, Jack Bruce on bass & vocals, and the amazing Ginger Baker on the drum kit. The OG power trio. Try "Swlabr," "Badge," "Strange Brew" or "Crossroads" for seriously tripping blues.

For me it's about depression. The station is your head and the station are the thoughts coming through your head are the trains, especially the bit about shadows hiding from themselves. They represent dark/negative thoughts

Lyrics by Peter Brown, about hanging in a dismal room at a train station.

I think the lyrics are about the end of one relationship and the start of anew one. Girl gets up gets dressed leaves on a.train. Narrator says goodby at the train station and is lonely and depressed until he goes to a party and meets a new girl.

Hey Biz. Yeah man, the Cream catalog is definitely worth checking into! That's Eric Clapton on guitar, Jack Bruce on bass and vocals, and Ginger Baker on drums. They are all great players individually and as a group they are iconic. Check out "Sunshine of Your Love", "SWLABR" and "Badge" just to name a few. Peace.

Yes, Biz, yes! Check out the whole catalog. Whew! Clapton, where to start? Eric Clapton is a guitar god. Vast amount of work, many, many collaborations, Legendary bands, deeply involved in rock history. Like, 10th degree Blues Master. His musical relationships, forbidden love (he fell in love with his best friends wife, George Harrison, and refused to act on it), love attained (they were eventually married), addiction, divorce, tragedy , triumph over addiction, all went into his music. HOF with 3 groups. One of the most influential guitarists of all time. Yes, Biz, yes.
P.S. He did a Bob Marley cover. Seriously.
