I regularly have up to 2,500 open (though most are suspended at any given time), and that takes most of 16 GB. Even 50 tabs active would be too much for my laptop, I think.
@@IDoNotLikeHandlesOnYT i would love to know what you find useful in having 2500 tabs of which most are suspended. do you not have access to google search?
@Gameming Tech Project ; Well, I think there are a few reasons. First and foremost is PRICE. The Dell Optiplex MT was a super popular basic business Micro Tower (MT) and there are now a ton of them around on the used market. You can make a cheap “super budget” gaming rig out them pretty easily just by adding a GTX 1050Ti or 1650. The stock 290w power supply can (usually) handle these video cards as long as you don’t have too many hard drives, etc. I personally acquired several of these for an unbeatable price. I cleaned them up, added a 1050Ti, upgraded the Ram to 16Gb, replaced the HD with an SSD, upgraded the OS to Win10 (for free), and then sold them for a profit. I saved one for myself tho. I had a GTX 970 laying around that wouldn’t fit in the Optiplex MT case so I used an old gaming tower case and performed the surgery. Obviously I had to upgraded the power supply to run the GTX 970. It works very well for a budget rig. So I guess you could say it is situational. If you are strapped for cash and need a basic PC that can do 1080p/60 (settings will vary) for under $200 US, these aren’t a bad option if you know what your doing.
I always go for a full tower. And I rarely use its full potential. I just find it easier to work inside. I hate struggling to get at things because there's no room.
So it's harder to steal. Plus big towers = more hard drive space. I've got 10 hdd's in my machine, weighs almost as much a fully grown African Bull Elephant.
XCurrent Breeze It all depends on what you want to do and achieve. I have each HDD allocated for personal documents, work documents, pictures, videos, software, games, installed applications, OS respectively.
2018 when 1080ti was bleeding edge gpus didnt use 300 whats of power and Intel was ahead of AMD rhyzen when Sli wasnt dead completly and and nvidia wasnt out of Stock
Sir Salmon Judging by all the family and friends that call me complaiining that their computers are malfunctioning, and then work perfectly when I get to them, I'd say that the computers are already in phase one of taking over. Phase one is testing the humans to see how the takeover should be carried out.
6:03 "So, unless you're into... using your computer as weight lifting equipment, it's... that's not a practical selling point." Let's be honest: most of us should start with a mid tower for an exercise program, before moving onto a full tower. Safe exercise is good exercise. :P
I would guess neither. I don't think he is the type of person that would get a tattoo, especially in a spot that is not easy to cover. Considering how in the past few years this channel has went from having a genuine passion for computers to straight up doing anything to get more views and make more money on TH-cam, I think it is a temporary tattoo for the purpose of getting people to comment. The longer he leaves it on, the more discussion it will create in the comments, which will cause TH-cam to push his videos to more people. This channel is all about money now. It seems that Linus no longer has a passion for the hobby and instead has turned into a business man.
Anona Mouse Why doesn’t anyone mention this??? Like why??????? Nobody EVER mentions that about big cases. They just assume you want the extra half degree or 2 on the cpu.
I got a little small cube pc, and i built it myself with high end hardware in it, i cut the 140mm fan hole on top myself and a 120mm fan hole on the backside for my liquid cooled cpu. Every time i look at my pc i get so proud of myself, and i learned alot from building it
that was basically my logic when I picked my Rosewill Thor many years ago. I was concerned about not being able to fit all my components into a mid-size tower, and I figured it was better to be safe than sorry!
agreed on the quiet and cool bit for large cases. Smaller heat-sinks, and smaller rads, do sacrifice cooling potential for the small size, unless you give up the quiet part and go with Screaming Banshee fans, lol. Small, good Cooling, Quiet.... Pick two.
The entire time I was so amazed "WOW Linus you did an amazing job cleaning the glass sides of those cases, they are SO crystal clear" .. then you stuck your hand into the case at 2:42
I just like big cases, mine is a custom painted 900D and I love it. Loads of room to tinker, lots of room for easy removal of components and liquid cooling components, plus, they look pretty badass.
i built my first PC in 2012, back then huge cases were in high demand, it was expensive enough as it was back then, so when it came time to upgrade some stuff, i never bothered to replace the case since i was already spending 700+ on water cooling parts, GPU/mobo/CPU and RAM, so yeah, im still sitting here with a gigantic windowed case that used to have a water cooling loop with RGB and all that jazz but because water cooling requires more maintenance than i care to do anymore, i went back to air cooling so now its a large windowed case with barely anything to really marvel at and RGB that is off 24/7 because im not into it anymore. im still saving up so i can start my m-ITX small form factor 2400G build to replace my current eye sore
thats a good idea, ive gone as far as i can with just "eh, buy this, plug it in", building a case would be a fun challenge but i really want to go as small and quiet as possible so i dont know how much ill actually be able to salvage but thanks for the idea!
big cases are like big homes, 120m² is enough living space for 5 people, more than average people per inhabited home, mini itx goes up to 64gb, more than enough for most workloads
You will never find a case with better airflow than a Bitfenix Prodigy (m-ITX, the mATX one is shit) equipped with a single inaudible Silverstone AP-181 fan.
Bloodpact Guild Only 1 fan will be louder and have worse airflow than multiple fans. And a medium case you can also have less and cheaper fans with less cfm and still have good cooling. You don't have to have a huge pc if you dont need the space.
I get so jealous of these tech videos. You've got a ton of these higher end graphics cards just laying around unused and all I ever want is just one lol
@@goronslime1469 ah people waste so much fucking money. I can guarantee this person is not hardcore budgeting. Why? Because he's looking at what someone else owns and wants one.

Personally I use a full tower for 2 reasons. 1. More space to work with. I'm not the greatest at cable management and pc building always felt like and exorcise in trying to fit things and my hands into the case. Bigger tower means more hand space. 2. I had a bad experience with a mid tower. My first gaming pc was a mid tower I built at home with help from an adult(I was a kid at the time). The case didn't really have enough room for the graphics card we put in it. It fit but only if you squeezed it in. As a result the card on constant pressure on it which eventually caused it to fail. So I always use full towers now to specifically avoid that problem from ever happening again.
it has been there for at least a week worth of videos, im slowly thinking its either real or he's just tryna troll us all and he's re-applying one of these fake ones every couple days
gotta get a good midtower case tho ive only had two that were decent the rest were a nightmare for cable management lol. thankfully my new case is coming tomorrow or Wednesday (thermal take view 21)
Coming in four years after release to answer the question. Flexing. Pure, simple FLEXING. I want my friends to know that their tiny limp mid-tower PCs are no match for my fully erect, 2 foot tall full tower BATTLESTATION.
RTX 3090: *exists* High-end ITX users: "I don't need it, I don't need it" RTX 3090: *Literally the best fooking specs all-round* High-end ITX users: *I NEEEEED ITTTTTT* GamerMeld: *Full size ATX case shortages all over the world!*
My coworker who sits next to me does electromagnetic simulations which get huge really quickly. He offloads the actual simulations to a compute server, but it's still handy to have lots of ram to work with large complex CAD models and run the occasional simulation.
Full tower benefits? You can set it on the floor without worrying about height or aesthetics (assuming you have mordern-esque furniture), you have more functionality and flexibility than any other form factor, and you can go so balls to the wall that you could actually stuff a mini server inside of the same computer with plenty of room left over for multiple drives on your main PC (varying on the case in question). The only thing that beats the possibilities of a full size case is custom work, for obvious reasons. Not to mention, if you know where to go, you can get decent full size cases for the price of your name brand mid-size case.
well said, ATX is preferable to me because of all the expansion, it's better imo to go bigger and worry less in the future, I use mid tower but very much see the use of bigger, mid worked for what I wanted. That server idea is intriguing.
Don't put your computer on the floor unless you vacuum regularly. The system box is basically a vacuum that'll suck up anything within 3 feet that isn't nailed down. That includes dust, pet hair, bacteria, and insects. Keep it on the desk until you have a good cleaning regime in place.
yea but theres one problem, what if you want to move it into a different room or place one day lol gonna be trying to lift a truck basically and most people are going for small and quiet these days
Damn socks, with such a compelling argument how can anyone disagree? I mean the things are compact, great for cooling and have great storage capacity. So damned dumb my man.
Personally it all comes down to easier to work in. Once you work in a big spacious case it's really hard to go small. Just makes every little thing you do easier and pays off in the long time. Additionally you can get some very high quality cases in the largest form factor that you plan to keep forever, so that easier to work in benefit will pay dividends in the long run.
Midtower PC have a way more flexible cost. If you lack the budget then you can go with a 30 dollar budget case and a Biostar motherboard instead of a 100 dollar case and a high-end Asus motherboard. When you count it all up, a midtower build can save you hundreds of dollars if you shop smart.
Another reason for large cases is they double as a night light, air purifier, heater, soothing fan sound making machine for sleeping, and it double as a table for having dinner with the family.
im still using my pc built in 2011, with a Cooler Master HAF-X case..things massive. Thought I needed it at the time, and for the time I did. I put a 140mm rad, a 360mm rad inside with a full custom loop, drive bay resovoir, and 2 gtx 580 hydro copper 2's. Now I cry everytime I have to move it.
Mine came with castors thank god. I do still love it though. I needed it coz the CPU I wanted required an EATX board. Now it's stuck in a blue screen boot loop and rather than test each piece to find the fault, I plan to fully upgrade the innards (except the GTX680 coz GPUs are rarer than hen's teeth right now). But I plan to replace the case too. I'll keep the HAF-X. Maybe turn it into a display piece of some sort coz it's just too beautiful a design to throw out for being old.
Design Applications, tend to need LOADS of ram on some occasions. For Urban Design I need 32 GB minimum for decently sized areas. It is a similar story in Engineering and product design if you are testing out structure, or environmental performance or using AI or algorithms to help you design.
With Maya, Zbrush, Substance Painter, and Photoshop open at the same time (when texture painting) I am getting uncomfortably close to maxing out my 64GB of RAM. Thankfully my computer can support up to 96GB but that will be another 3-400 dollars and I got other expenses so it may be a while.
you also forgot the 10 3.5" internal expantion bays just for hard drives which i kinda am using 5 of right now due to not buying the right power supply to have more than 5 connected at once
I got a full ATX, it's large, but not as large as the one showcased here, and it's too fit extra SSD's and HDD's, but mainly so I can expand it and upgrade in the future. I don't want to buy a new case everytime I want to upgrade, I want a case that'll last me 5-10 years. Plus it came with cool neon green lit fans with a neon green trim.
xZiddel I don't need a massive case, I know stuff gets smaller, but idk if I want dual sli later, or if something I happen to want in the future will be larger or smaller, so it's a safety net for me.
"idk if I want dual sli later" Heard that one before. People say the same thing about PSUs. I wouldn't. Instead get a 1080ti, like he showed in the video.
JayJapanB why are there 1000 trolls trying to tell you to get a case with no room for storage???? They want you to store your personal info in the cloud thats why.. .get a giant case and put 6 blueray burners in it with 12 hard drives.
id recommend building a server in that case (no pun intended) as if you need to move its not such a hassle but theres pros and cons to each situation i suppose
I bought a full tower for two main reasons - A lot of local storage (12 drive bays), and enough GPU options (4 of them). Also, the only boards for my processor were EATX anyways
i use a good old HAF-X for my main rig, i used to have 2 gpu's in it but not anymore, my Rig weights about 30kg's right now (and has wheels so i can push it arround) why i like this thing: - no matter what part.. it'll fit - loads of airflow, Fans (even a sideintake) ... my previous Corssifre Setup with 2x R9 290 stayed cool in there - i have HDD swap Bays, DVD Drive and a Cardreader on the front and still loads of airintake - 3x 3.5" Drives permanently installed, 1 SSD, 1 m.2 SSD ... and room to expand - This PC sits under my large desk, having a smaller Case makes zero benefits to me. Further on a PC is modular af and i bought the case in 2012 with the intention to keep it for long (it has had 3 differnt MB's and 5 different GPU's so far) so i didnt give a shit that it cost a lill bit more ... it's still good and i have no intention to change it any time soon... just gotta add a little typ C conector to the front (easy mod) and it's up to date again lol
HAF-X MASTER RACE!!! i feel the same way, i've had mine since 2011 and i never felt i should change it. yeah i could get something more refined with more glass and less plastic, better/removable air filters, bigger side window or whatever. but watching comparisons between the HAF-X and today's towers... everything seems to fall flat compared to it when it comes to airflow and temps (the side fan keeps my graphics cards FROSTY, just like you said). plus it's rugged and mean looking, which is fine by me! i was also thinking the same thing, everyone's like "why would you need such a huge case to take up so much space?". i understand some ppl may have tiny desks and limited space, but doesn't everyone have a mid sized desk to just throw it down there? it literally takes the same space as a mid tower because the width is the same! at some point i had so many HDDs and peripherals that i started using splitters on my power supply, yet it could take even more and i had no issues with the airflow. that's what i paid for. by the way, if you don't wanna bother modding it for the type C connector you could buy something like this www.aliexpress.com/item/3-5-USB-C-Front-Panel-19Pin-USB3-0-Header-to-2Port-USB3-1-USB-C/32625799175.html even though i like the uniformity in the new cases that are completely flat in the front or one piece of glass... they can't do THIS! you can customize it and add new features in minutes.
depends on your budget and what you want to do with it ofc... but take a look at the Silverstone KL05, it's high quality, decently priced and got a bit of everything (buillt in one for a friend a while ago, no issues to fit a Strix 1080Ti along with a couple of HDD's and SSD's and a large aircooler on the i7 8700)
I Still have and love my Coolmaster Haf X. I am sure years ago you did a video on this beautiful case. I personally think this case looks much better than all the modern cases. I guess its not good for having a full view of the inside components tho.
Remember when Mini ITX came out? I had this really cool idea to build a Mini ITX PC that could fit in a 5 1/4" drive bay, then use Remote Desktop to access the Mini ITX embedded PC "remotely" from the host PC. I even thought it would be cool to get a full-tower case, load it up with these Mini ITX drive-bay embedded PCs, have each of them dedicated to different tasks, and RDP into them as needed. Then VMware came along and blew away my idea of physically separate embedded PCs inside a single case...but it still would've been cool for like a year or so.
The last pc case i bought was big, main reason is i wanted it easier to mount\unmount things... Price difference isnt big, especially compared to the entire pc.
Another factor = air-cooled solutions fit better. If you want to O/C and don't want to use water-cooled solutions, a full tower gives you ultimate flexibility. Some mid-towers can't accommodate the largest coolers and still achieve desired airflow.
Well, for my Sli 1080s (that I had running in a cheap mid tower and was choking the bottom one) I now got a new, bigger mid tower, with the main difference in cooling being that it has more fan/radiator slots, as well as the PSU at the top and fan slots at the bottom. One of my cards is watercooled, and I now have space to use its radiator as an intake, greatly increasing its cooling performance (before, it was literally the only exhaust...). The other card now gets intake air blown directly into its fans from the bottom, and also has improved thermals that can easily stack up against any full tower. So multi-GPU doesn't have to be a reason to go full tower, you just need the right mid tower, is sort of what I'm getting at here.
KVN Its pretty good when it works. Unfortunately, there are many games that don't support it, but when it works it's awesome. I can run Rise of the Tomb Raider at custom very high settings in 4k at stable 60 fps, and it looks amazing. And that only scales 160-170%, GTA 5, for example, scales over 190% for me (145 fps compared to 75 at the same settings). Sli can be worth it if you have a powerful card (1070 and up, with older cards I'd say its better to get a new one) and you upgrade later on. At that point, getting a second one of the card that you have can easily be cheaper than buying a new card, even with the money that you might earn if you sell the old card. This will usually mean that in games that support it you will even get better performance than that new high-end card but in games that don't, it will be worse. I recommend checking out if the games you mainly play support it before going for an Sli setup (obviously only demanding games, games that run well on a single card don't matter). Especially console ports often don't support it, but on the other hand, they often aren't very demanding, since the console version wasn't improved that much. Games that are improved significantly between console and PC release, like GTA 5, have a better chance of having Sli added. One other disadvantage is tearing. If you are using Nvidia Fastsync, you aren't in luck. It only works in single GPU mode, not when Sli is actually working. Gsync and Vsync work, though. I am not having any issues with (micro-)stuttering, though, it's as smooth as a single card. And you will increase power draw, obviously, so keep that in mind (but at idle, it's not that bad, and in single GPU applications, also such as Browsers and video players, the second card will remain idle). As for the future of Sli: With RTX Nvlink cane to GeForce and it seems they want to support it more than even dual Sli in the past. And even though Nvlink allows for sophisticated resource bundling on Quadro, Sli will work similarly as before (Alternate Frame Rendering), so there is a chance the old Sli will also see some decent support in the future, and maybe more AAA titles will support it again. This is just my personal speculation and hope, though, so it could also be wrong. And there's nothing that beats the glory of looking through your case's window and seeing two cards. :) So it is worth it as an upgrade, but you shouldn't plan anew system with "I'll get two cheaper cards instead of one expensive one". Sli in new systems only really makes sense when you buy the highest end card, and arguably maybe one tier below if the top tier is really overpriced.
@@Kdjoao If you can afford that, then fucking go for it! With a 1080 Ti Sli setup, you can crush any game because single GPU performance is still very good. And with Sli working this will outperform a 2080 Ti easily. Seriously, that's definitely worth it (unless you really really really hate tearing to the point where if you see a single frame tear you will literally rip your eyes out and eat them and don't have Gsync, but usually it's not that bad).
I live in a tiny room shared with another person and go away for months at a time, and my case is almost as tall as my desk. Why? Upgradability and better cooling without doing anything crazy. I have a gigantic heat sink that just wouldn't fit in a smaller case and my 200mm fans can run slower to keep noise down and lifetime up.
It really depends on the case. Lian Li O11 is awesome. You can fit 2 360 radiator. I have 1 slim and 1 extreme from ek (not recommended ek slim 360 is too long to fit on the back side). I could fit another slim 360 on the bottom if I didn’t have 2 GPU.
xZiddel It's cost effective in the long run if your upgrade your shit though. Also anyone with a brain can fit a honking thing like this even with cramped space.
I bought a full tower for several reasons. In no particular order: 1. Easy to work in 2. Room for literally any part i want to stick in it, don't even have to look at GPU length ect 3. It's heavy, which is good. I'm not lugging it around with me, it's sitting in one spot forever, so i like that it's big and sturdy to protect my valuable parts 4. Room for all the expansion in the world. If i want to shove a million hard drives in it, i can do that. 5. Better cooling. I can put big fans in it, which keep it cooler and quieter than a small case with small fans 6. Room for extra addons. I can put two bluray burners in it, a card reader, a USB hub, a cigarette lighter/cupholder combo... So basically, i bought a good full tower so that i never have to buy another tower again. This one will do absolutely anything.
Im using the level 20 vt computer case for 2 weeks now, and i chose it because it wanted a really cool well performing longlasting themed case. when finished it will run a 1080ti and a 3600 with a 480mm radiator (8cm+ thiccness) in push pull, while being fueled and cooled with UV-green water loop, while the fans rgbs provide a soft yellow/gold touch to it. it will just run super cold and super quiet while looking really cool. the theme is nature. i wrapped parts of the case with wood-design vinyl and a fake plant will be decorated around the green waterloop reservoire. like it is giving its power to the pc, or maybe leaching power off of it. So do you need it? - nope :D is it heavy? it IS really heavy. but if you have the room, the money and you want a nice big pc to look at - why not? im sure i can get anything in there in the next 5-10 years and it will look cool.

Candi Bacon, Because it's temporary and he put it back on. It is missing from the previous 3 Computex videos: all screen notebook, crazy cooler, and AMD's 32 core.
personally I use full towers but I swap towers like every 3 years or less. I bought a lian li like 10 years ago and thought yea this is my case forever...pfft . That thought process went away quickly. There is always a case that come out a year or so after u build a rig and u go..hey it has what I wanted this case to have or ooooo that sh*t looks great.
I use a 14 year old huge CM Stacker case. Its 15kg and holds 11 5,25" drives. It's now housing a 1700 Ryzen system with 2 ssds and 4 harddisks. The harddisks are hanging in elastic rope because it silences the vibrations and hey lots of room anyway.
I actually had a mid tower, Antec 900, but when a buddy gave me his GTX 580 that he was no longer using, it would not fit. I ended up buying an Antec 1200 v3 and I will use that for many builds in the future. I cannot speak for all towers, but at least in the case of my Antec 1200, the air flow is really good. Sometimes airflow becomes a problem in mid towers, especially if they do not have many fans or have drive bays that impede airflow.
A practical use for a lot of RAM is that you can create a RAM drive and run programs entirely from RAM instead of from the storage drive, which can have a major impact on loading times for bigger resources. And since bigger programs like games which load a lot of resources frequently will benefit more from a RAM drive than a smaller program, if someone is going to use a RAM drive it makes sense to install as much RAM as possible.
Expandability and upgradability are two major factors to consider. Those little compact things are less likely to have those. Otherwise you may as well just use a laptop.
well i think that they think your crazy is because your paying more for something that costs less in materials and half the size of a midtower case aka an itx case, theyre expensive and they get pretty hot if you're rocking an i7 and 1080 or an older card such as a 980ti as older card do get more hot
Are these "people" PC enthusiasts, or just regular people who get their computers at Best Buy? I imagine the latter would look at you crazy regardless of what kind of case you wanted to use.

I went with the 4000D airflow, but now I am wishing I should have gone for a full tower like the Enthoo pro 2 or something.
Cable managing on an ATX is so much more simplistic and more aesthetically pleasing to look at
So it's harder to steal.
Plus big towers = more hard drive space.

SunnyZ

You can never have enough HDDs.
XCurrent Breeze It all depends on what you want to do and achieve. I have each HDD allocated for personal documents, work documents, pictures, videos, software, games, installed applications, OS respectively.
Yes, but why?
Your parts and HDDs can be taken out. A lot more value and less weight than stealing your whole case lol.

A full tower isn't that odd. My Itx is tough to adjust. I have to pull the power supply to reach mobo for everything except the graphics card.
that was basically my logic when I picked my Rosewill Thor many years ago. I was concerned about not being able to fit all my components into a mid-size tower, and I figured it was better to be safe than sorry!

i built my first PC in 2012, back then huge cases were in high demand, it was expensive enough as it was back then, so when it came time to upgrade some stuff, i never bothered to replace the case since i was already spending 700+ on water cooling parts, GPU/mobo/CPU and RAM, so yeah, im still sitting here with a gigantic windowed case that used to have a water cooling loop with RGB and all that jazz but because water cooling requires more maintenance than i care to do anymore, i went back to air cooling so now its a large windowed case with barely anything to really marvel at and RGB that is off 24/7 because im not into it anymore. im still saving up so i can start my m-ITX small form factor 2400G build to replace my current eye sore

Not better airflow. A smaller mid tower is best cause you don't have to have as many fans and its as easy to build i side.
If your SFF tower is easier to build in, you bought a crappy mid-tower. Just saying.

So I always use full towers now to specifically avoid that problem from ever happening again.
what massive ass gpu did you use
@@joefuckingflacco11tds-0int4 So the card in my old computer that was squeezed to death was a AMD radeon 7970. The card in my current pc is a GTX 1080

Easy to work on and room for lots of mods

Anyone building a pc with that intel cpu is gonna need a big case to fit in the chiller

I hate working in small towers
I bought a full tower for two main reasons - A lot of local storage (12 drive bays), and enough GPU options (4 of them). Also, the only boards for my processor were EATX anyways
i use a good old HAF-X for my main rig, i used to have 2 gpu's in it but not anymore, my Rig weights about 30kg's right now (and has wheels so i can push it arround)
why i like this thing:
- no matter what part.. it'll fit
- loads of airflow, Fans (even a sideintake) ... my previous Corssifre Setup with 2x R9 290 stayed cool in there
- i have HDD swap Bays, DVD Drive and a Cardreader on the front and still loads of airintake
- 3x 3.5" Drives permanently installed, 1 SSD, 1 m.2 SSD ... and room to expand
- This PC sits under my large desk, having a smaller Case makes zero benefits to me.
HAF-X MASTER RACE!!!
i feel the same way, i've had mine since 2011 and i never felt i should change it. yeah i could get something more refined with more glass and less plastic, better/removable air filters, bigger side window or whatever. but watching comparisons between the HAF-X and today's towers... everything seems to fall flat compared to it when it comes to airflow and temps (the side fan keeps my graphics cards FROSTY, just like you said). plus it's rugged and mean looking, which is fine by me!
i was also thinking the same thing, everyone's like "why would you need such a huge case to take up so much space?". i understand some ppl may have tiny desks and limited space, but doesn't everyone have a mid sized desk to just throw it down there? it literally takes the same space as a mid tower because the width is the same!
at some point i had so many HDDs and peripherals that i started using splitters on my power supply, yet it could take even more and i had no issues with the airflow. that's what i paid for.
by the way, if you don't wanna bother modding it for the type C connector you could buy something like this www.aliexpress.com/item/3-5-USB-C-Front-Panel-19Pin-USB3-0-Header-to-2Port-USB3-1-USB-C/32625799175.html
even though i like the uniformity in the new cases that are completely flat in the front or one piece of glass... they can't do THIS! you can customize it and add new features in minutes.
and since we got 6 Bays on the front we can easily add one of these unlike in allmost any new Case!
Im looking into buying a Full size case. What would you recommended?
depends on your budget and what you want to do with it ofc... but take a look at the Silverstone KL05, it's high quality, decently priced and got a bit of everything (buillt in one for a friend a while ago, no issues to fit a Strix 1080Ti along with a couple of HDD's and SSD's and a large aircooler on the i7 8700)
i can hear it now - Some thieves are thinking to themselves - "hmmm - wonder where this Engineer Six guy lives..." =P

Yeah the issue with smaller PC's is finding motherboards that aren't OEM garbage.

Another factor = air-cooled solutions fit better. If you want to O/C and don't want to use water-cooled solutions, a full tower gives you ultimate flexibility. Some mid-towers can't accommodate the largest coolers and still achieve desired airflow.
Easy answer: BECAUSE YOU CAN!!
There's never been a better reason for anything!
"analyze particle collisions for CERN" As a scientist myself, I really cracked up lmao😂
Running experiments for the Kerbal Space program does not make you a scientist.
jk
What field?
There is a reason for a big tower.
UN-LIMITED POWERRRRR!
I got the big boi tower because I already dedicated a certain amount of space for it in my room. Might as well maximize the potential options.
Is sli any good? I keep hearing its terrible.
So it is worth it as an upgrade, but you shouldn't plan anew system with "I'll get two cheaper cards instead of one expensive one".
Sli in new systems only really makes sense when you buy the highest end card, and arguably maybe one tier below if the top tier is really overpriced.
@@justuslm my friend is selling gtx 1080 ti in sli build with custom water cooling. But i am not sure about sli
That Pc is bigger than my future
Your jokes are as original as amy schumer
That case is bigger than my asshole hairs
probably it's also brighter than your future (because of mucho RGB)
His watch is even better
I do music production, mainly for the orchestra type. I have 32gb of RAM and that simply is not enough.
Your problem is not your ram, is your cpu.
Heads up, high ram is very useful for computational fluid dynamics (cfd)
You forgot to mention that big form factors look awesome!!!!!
And you can also make it quieter than small form factors.
I mean honestly i could go on
xZiddel It's cost effective in the long run if your upgrade your shit though. Also anyone with a brain can fit a honking thing like this even with cramped space.
Personally I've always felt a full size tower stays cooler. Might be in my head but I like the extra air flow.
HYTE REVOLT 3 fits a 280mm rad
I bought a full tower for several reasons.
In no particular order:
1. Easy to work in
2. Room for literally any part i want to stick in it, don't even have to look at GPU length ect
3. It's heavy, which is good. I'm not lugging it around with me, it's sitting in one spot forever, so i like that it's big and sturdy to protect my valuable parts
4. Room for all the expansion in the world. If i want to shove a million hard drives in it, i can do that.
5. Better cooling. I can put big fans in it, which keep it cooler and quieter than a small case with small fans
6. Room for extra addons. I can put two bluray burners in it, a card reader, a USB hub, a cigarette lighter/cupholder combo...
So basically, i bought a good full tower so that i never have to buy another tower again.
This one will do absolutely anything.
Take a shot every time you hear corsair one
I own the Obsidian 900D
RandomFlatShowsvideos same, its nice knowing my case can take whatever upgrades i want to throw at it
MRDOOMBOY12345........Exactly!
Me to i love 900D
You know, that’s really cool! I can’t think of someone as special as you!
i have the 750D but it's still small haha
2018: Cases are to big for our GPUs
2020: RTX 3090 to big for our cases
- nope :D is it heavy? it IS really heavy. but if you have the room, the money and you want a nice big pc to look at - why not? im sure i can get anything in there in the next 5-10 years and it will look cool.
when did linus get a tattoo
i was wondering that too!!
When he realized it would cause a ton of comments, which TH-cam would see as engagement and push his videos to more people, making him more money. Isn't that all that LTT is about anymore, making more money through controversy? I'm pretty sure it is a temporary tattoo.
It's fake, his recent videos from Computex don't have it.
AllTracTurbo just looked at the latest vid and you can see it in like the first 30 seconds or so
Candi Bacon, Because it's temporary and he put it back on. It is missing from the previous 3 Computex videos: all screen notebook, crazy cooler, and AMD's 32 core.
I use a full tower and i expect to save around 100$ by reusing my big case when i build my new computer.
Yep
personally I use full towers but I swap towers like every 3 years or less.
@Tremble Dust
I am really curious what could I like more in the future than a Cooler Master Cosmos C700P.
So I can call it "The Beast"
and vodka cool it
A practical use for a lot of RAM is that you can create a RAM drive and run programs entirely from RAM instead of from the storage drive, which can have a major impact on loading times for bigger resources.
Otherwise you may as well just use a laptop.
depends on your needs. if u are just gaming and don't see yourself going any further then that in regards to pc usage a midtower or itx is a good.
As long as it comes with a decent graphics processor it should be ok.
Pfft! That full tower is a lightweight. My Sun E250 literally weighs 165 pounds (Beacause of the massive cast zinc frame bits inside.)
People look at me crazy when I say I want to built my next pc as small and powerful as possible. I mean we live in 2018.
TJ Lime I mean unless its one of those trashcan PCs its good. But yeah.
well i think that they think your crazy is because your paying more for something that costs less in materials and half the size of a midtower case aka an itx case, theyre expensive and they get pretty hot if you're rocking an i7 and 1080 or an older card such as a 980ti as older card do get more hot
Are these "people" PC enthusiasts, or just regular people who get their computers at Best Buy? I imagine the latter would look at you crazy regardless of what kind of case you wanted to use.
Yeah, I mean it's doable...but why? It's going to be a lot harder to get proper cooling in a small case with high-end components.
Capnsensible80 It's about the engineering challenge to get it working properly.
i’m sure someone has commented this but... the thing i appreciate more than anything on the ltt channel. even more than the entertainment and information, is the fact that EVERY ltt video i’ve ever watched let’s me skip the sponsored section in two simple taps
