Man, he seems like a scapegoat here. I'm a Chargers fan, so the hotter that dumpster burns, the funnier it gets to me. That said, I really liked how he embraced the physical playing that the Raiders used to be known for. They absolutely flattened the Chargers last game of last year, but it resulted in Chargers bringing on Harbaugh. I don't know that AP was the problem.

The Raiders have had 2 winning seasons in the last 22 -- and no playoff wins. Also, since 2000, the Raiders have had 16 head coaching changes(!) The next closest team is the Cleveland Browns with 12. The league average since 2000 is 7.5 head coaching changes. The Raiders are the only team that is over twice the average.
I supported Antonio Pierce, but he went with a less talented Gardner Minshew after Aidan O’Connell was the main reason why Antonio Pierce became the Head Coach for an extra year. I do like his passion as a Head Coach, but at this time I’m neutral on the decision. I would like to see an Offensive minded Coach such as QB Josh McCown who is popular among players, has a Very High Football IQ and very involved in evaluating talent. This is who the Raiders need to Hire as Head Coach. I would also like to see Rob Ryan promoted to being in charge of the Defensive. He’s a Man’s man , in other words, if lady reporters are in the locker room, he’s gonna still not hold back on his language, sons of Buddy Ryan know Defense. For QB, I feel they should go after 6’5” WR from Arizona Tetairoa McMillan, not often does a WR with WR Mike Evans 6’4” height become available that has Speed, Good Hands & Height. Mike Evans every year of his career has had over 1000 yrds receiving. With the 2nd Round, they should go after SEC Mississippi QB Jaxson Dart, has the arm , very mobile and fun to watch. I believe he’ll be better than Sanders, Cam Ward & Ewers. The money saved on Adams, they should go after the Chiefs FA Guard Trey Smith, Dolphins FA Safety Jevon Hollander to be back there with talented young Safeties Tre’Von Moehrig & Pola-Mao. Also, should go after FA’s Rams Tackle Alaric Jackson and they should look into FA RB Nick Chubb as long as he can pass a thorough physical.
Antonio Pierce would be a great assistant head coach. Help to build him up, he’s not head coach material right now but should definitely keep him on the staff.

Oh yes many mistakes by young Mark Davis the owner. They setup Antonio Pierce to fail with players he had to work with. GM manager Tom Telesco should have gone first. GM Tom Telesco didn't do anything for the Chargers. The first mistake was not bringing back Josh Jacobs second trading for Devante Adams. He should have stayed with Rich Bisaccia and didn't look at what it got him. Young Davis really needs to sell the Raiders In the next two years fans will be shouting and saying sell the team just watch.

Firing him was unfair imo. Problem is the ownership , they absolutely should have got a QB in last draft. Minshew & O'connell are backups (at best) it all starts at the top and with the Raiders ownership it is like what Dallas has in Jerry Jones in that he tells the coach how to do his job...should have kept AP , get a QB in the draft or by trade and give him time to build. Unless the ownership changes their practices it'll be a long time with many losing seasons ahead for the team.

@@22trem yes they do get paid millions but the point is in a lot of situations they don’t get at least a second year to build on what they are trying to implement. Honestly, I believe if you hire ANY head coach he or she should be given at least a couple years to implement their culture and put their stamp on the team. Some of these teams are in such a mess financially and talent wise that one offseason can’t produce a winner the next season. No one has patience anymore. If you hire a coach to a 5 year contract he should be given at least 3 or 4 of those years to build it his way and win. Only way he should go before that is if the team is going more backwards than they already were
Cut the power each game, in every stadium, to make the other teams forfeit. RAIDERS fan 35 years here. It was AL declining in health with ego swelling and then Mark being manipulated and taken advantage of for our organization's fall from greatness. AP was chosen by the players and deserved ONE more year. If just to show other coaching candidates, we are trying to STABILIZE the organization. AP was a team player, maybe too much. Now we're back to players like Mac, Jacobs, Maxx and Bowers being treated unfairly. Instead of the organization letting them go crazy feasting at the table, they have to hold up a leg of the table while trying to eat. Plus, there's another leg missing! Soon, players will NOT want to even go there. No matter the history of the team. No one wants to SERIOUSLY coach there. They just fired the one who did.
AP is fine as a coordinator but not head coach. Terrible game management. I know he didn't have much to work with but he was outcoached in several games Raiders should have won.

It’s not the coaches fault the Raiders lose games. The team always picks up mediocre QBs like Garoppolo, Minshew, & O'Connell. Get a talented QB from college like Dillon Gabriel or Cam Ward. Also the defensive Secondary is absolutely horrible.

Oh yes many mistakes by young Mark Davis the owner. They setup Antonio Pierce to fail with players he had to work with. GM manager Tom Telesco should have gone first. GM Tom Telesco didn't do anything for the Chargers. The first mistake was not bringing back Josh Jacobs second trading for Devante Adams. He should have stayed with Rich Bisaccia and didn't look at what it got him. Firing him was unfair imo. Problem is the ownership , they absolutely should have got a QB in last draft. Minshew & O'connell are backups (at best) it all starts at the top and with the Raiders ownership it is like what Dallas has in Jerry Jones in that he tells the coach how to do his job...should have kept AP , get a QB in the draft or by trade and give him time to build. Unless the ownership changes their practices it'll be a long time with many losing seasons ahead for the team.

Honestly, I believe if you hire ANY head coach he or she should be given at least a couple years to implement their culture and put their stamp on the team. Some of these teams are in such a mess financially and talent wise that one offseason can’t produce a winner the next season. No one has patience anymore. If you hire a coach to a 5 year contract he should be given at least 3 or 4 of those years to build it his way and win. Only way he should go before that is if the team is going more backwards than they already were

It was AL declining in health with ego swelling and then Mark being manipulated and taken advantage of for our organization's fall from greatness. AP was chosen by the players and deserved ONE more year. If just to show other coaching candidates, we are trying to STABILIZE the organization. AP was a team player, maybe too much. Now we're back to players like Mac, Jacobs, Maxx and Bowers being treated unfairly. Instead of the organization letting them go crazy feasting at the table, they have to hold up a leg of the table while trying to eat. Plus, there's another leg missing! Soon, players will NOT want to even go there. No matter the history of the team. No one wants to SERIOUSLY coach there. They just fired the one who did.
AP is fine as a coordinator but not head coach. Terrible game management. I know he didn't have much to work with but he was outcoached in several games Raiders should have won.

It’s not the coaches fault the Raiders lose games. The team always picks up mediocre QBs like Garoppolo, Minshew, & O'Connell. Get a talented QB from college like Dillon Gabriel or Cam Ward. Also the defensive Secondary is absolutely horrible.
