    Even this Texas heat is no competition for my moss roses! A favorite in this weather. Love that planter!

    My Mom loved Portulaca. She always called them Moss Roses. They reseed quite easily. I have two growing in my garden that seeded themselves from last year’s plants. Love your channel!

    I started cuttings in my hydroponic garden last fall and had flowers all winter. I transferred these plants outside come spring and started some new cuttings. Now i have many, many rock roses. I love them. ❤️

    Thank you!
    I'm new to this flower/plant this year. Walmart had big beautiful hanging baskets on clearance for just $5 a basket and I purchased the remaining four baskets. They have been loving my sunny front porch.
    And they do exactly what you say: open and close. My husband rarely sees them open and the other day he commented: 'Oh...looks like they are about ready to bloom!'
    I had to tell him how they open/close with the sun.

    I am crazy about them! In Arizona summers it blooms & waterfalls & some have wintered over into the next spring & regrows!

      We found this at one of our horticulture wholesale shows. Not sure where you could find one locally, but we love ours.

    My the rose moss portulacas are not doing too well. I live in the Arizona hot weather, and I have them in the sun all day. Is that to much sun? Also I understand the once a week watering and fertilizing, but should I fertilize and water at the same time and day or one day fertilize next day water?

    Either the squirrels or deer ate down to the dirt just a day ago. I am so sad. I love my portulacca's, the roses are so colorful and bright. Would you think squirrels or deer, and what can I do to prevent this next year😢

      Either one will do their damage to them. We like to use Bonide Repels All to keep them away. You can find it here: amzn.to/44XJ8yJ

    I’ve seen some portulaca’s on Pinterest that look like they climb, so do they and if I were to put some kind of a trellis, would that work?

    Will they survive winter? I’m in North Georgia

    • @lynnb6799
      @lynnb6799 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No, they are annuals that grow, flower, and set seed in only one growing season. They do not survive frosts that you'd get in N. GA. It's possible you might be able to bring cuttings inside over the winter

      In our greenhouses it gets over 120 degrees (F) so yes, they can handle the heat.
