I know this video has been around for a while, but thanks for keeping it available. I'm thinking about buying this as a back-up rig. Very informative.

I have a peavey viper 120 watt amp. Thing sounds incredible, and it has the JSX on it. I got curious, and now I'm here. I need this head... What a sound

Mikael i used different volume and noise gate settings for each preset because the attack of each setting was different... Turn the noise gate until u can control the feedback then dial back as much from there as u desire... Depending on how u want your sound you can turn it up to cut all feedback off or bleed what you desire to come through... If you feel your sound still has to much feedback i highly suggest getting a noise suppressor and routing through ur fx loop this will cut all remaining feedback completely and or give you much more control

Do you need an attenuator to get the right tone from it? I heard you need the volume around 7 to get the full tone from this amp.

Not at all, this amp sounds suprisingly good at very low volume in fact.

If you set effects send high and return low it will sound great at low volumes.

You can totally use this as a metal amp. All you need to do is put an overdrive infront of the amp. Boom- metal amp. Or just get the XXX the precursor which has more gain specifically made for metal

JSX, XXX and XXX 2 are very similar it's they were used by Exodus, havoc and new trivium. Just add tube screamer in crunch Chanel.

I wonder how it is possible a double pair of EL34 in a push-pull output stage can give a power 120 Watts RMS!!!
Even if they will be working on an extreme voltage/amperage/bias the power results could reach about 80~85 Watts RMS! But if the tubes will work on a such parameters, they will be destroied very soon (under these exausting contditions)!!!
