There's a whole boatload of wisdom in this video. I plan on letting it stew for a few days or a week then, I'll watch it again. I coached a university club with about twelve regular participants until COVID hit. The university said that full contact, close proximity sports clubs would not be allowed to meet. This went on for more than a year and a half. All of the people but one, either graduated, transferred or otherwise, left the university. That one guy is graduating and doesn't want to do judo anymore. Now, I have one freshman from the Wednesday night judo class who wants to delve into judo more deeply. I've been working with him twice a week outside of class. He will be the foundation of building a new club.
Thank you for your dedication to the art and for your involvement in training world class Judokas, sensei Goltz. I will listen to your every word of instruction/advice and hopefully I to will someday I will lead some young judoka to become a national or international competitor. In 2018 I achieved a USJF National Bronze Level Coach's certification from sensei Hayward Nishioka, but due the pandemic I allowed my certification to lapse. I would like to get recertified by the USJA. Could you please advise me on the process to recertification. Best regards, Izzy Gelpi
