  • This first episode (with more to come) is our trip to Kulen Mountain, the place where the river Siem Reap (pronounces Si-yem Ri-yaap) originates and flows down to the plains. Why were a thousand lingas carved on the stone? What was the purpose it served? Who built them? A lot of fascinating details in this episode.

Iyer ji I visited this place three times.
You forgot to mention that the reclining Buddha statue is carved on the summit or the top point of the Kulen mountain.
If you remove all the covering above the statue and on its sides there the reclining Buddha is open to the skies.its the summit of that mountain.
A great achievement in those days.
Most of the sculptures were from Chennai
They used to trade with kamboj.and they cannot return to Chennai until the tide changes its direction which is around six months.
So they used to take shelter in the palaces and do these carvings over there FOC

Kaambhoja, not Kambhuja as I understand, which means :
Kambhoja is a Sanskrit and Hindu term that has multiple meanings:
A northern kingdom: A kingdom known for its horses
A country: A country in the "Nairṛtī (south-western division)"
A tribal population: A skilled military group that raised a good breed of horses
A caste: A class of Kshatriya guilds that lived on trade and war
Here are some other things related to Kambhoja:
In the Mahabharata, the Kambojas fought on the side of the Kauravas.
The Kamboja Kingdom was mentioned in the Mahabharata, along with the kings Sudakshina and Prapaksha Kamboja.
The Kamboja-Pala Dynasty of Bengal was founded by Rajyapala Kamboja and ruled in the 10th and 11th centuries.
The Kamboj clan is a South Asian clan.
The Kamboj (Chhimba clan) is a clan of the Chhimba caste in India.
Prostylotermes kamboja is an extinct termite genus of India.
The Dvārakā-Kamboja route was a route in ancient India that connected the Kamboja territory to the city of Dvaraka.
The last known king was 'Prince Narotham (great among humans) Sihanouk.

Thank you Sriji for this video. I went to Siem Reap specially to see Angor Wat, then from the hotel I learnt about the Sahasra linga and the Kulem mountains. The rocky prayer area, reclining Buddha, the waterfall, all were magnificent, but I was unfortunate not to see the Lingams, because the water flow was higher. I'm grateful for your video through which I could see the Lingams. Thank you once again 🙏🏻

This Kambhoja rajyam is different from the ancient"Kambhoja" rajyam adjacent to Sindh in present day Pakistan. There were many other rajyams in the north west region of Bharatha Khanda like Bahlika ( Bactria, Balkhs) region. The people of these regions Surnames typically end with "Ni" like Hakkani, advani, etc. There is a sect in north India who are called Kambhoj's. The Telugu speaking Kamma's and Velama's typically have " ni" at the end of their surnames. I happened to meet a Kambhoj from the north, who revealed this to me. Most probably they might have migrated due to the onslaught of attack after attack by the thugs from arabia and turks and settled in relatively peaceful areas. The "Lambada" migration has also happened due to the relentless attacks from muslim raiders on peaceful villages.

In Valmiki Ramayan there is a reference to the following armies. Who are they?
    Paplavas
    Yavanas
    Shukas
    And Kambhojas

    • @_wokeweaklingscryoverwords_
      @_wokeweaklingscryoverwords_ 19 วันที่ผ่านมา

Pahlavas were most probably Persians. Pahlavi is a Persian name. Yavanas were Ionians or Greeks. Sakas were Scythians who had an Empire across Asia, from the Tarim Basin to Eastern Europe. Kambhojas were most probably an Iranian tribe which lived in the Northwest, especially Afghanistan. Hunas were the Hephtalites or White Huns. The Huns who lived near Mongolia were a different group.

Over a time hindu , jain ,buddhist are seen clustered together. Hindu's don't mind being together with jain and buddhist because they consider them as their own but over a time these people don't consider themselves as hindu's and sometimes they seems to think their panth or religion bigger , better , and older than sanatn dharm we sanatanis should recognize this.
Just one example few years back I visited Lomesh maharishis tepmple/ashram in Himachal near Mandi on banks of revalsar lake it is small and neglected site but on small hill there is bigger better and huge buddhist temple now I questioned myself Lomesh rishi came first or buddha came first you tell me
