And it has been difficult for JCruz to get back to a regular routine. Just 7 days of vacation has put him back a few weeks of progress. His pain has intensified from a 5️⃣ to a 8️⃣scale for a few days straight.
If only we could have left Transverse Myelitis behind. But nope, it joined us on our “vacation” 🤦🏼‍♀️We were quickly reminded that “vacation” is no longer “vacation” like it is intended. It was a cruel reminder that our lives are no longer “normal.” We don’t get to relax and recover like we used to.
Taking a trip somewhere is an additional obstacle course for JCruz. To make matters worse, COVID 🦠has not made things easy for people with disabilities. We have had multiple unpleasant run in with rude people. There is so much judgement and lack of compassion for those who are in need of special or certain services.
Our trip may have been different if the resorts gym 🏋🏽‍♂️would have been functioning like it was the week we called to confirm. However, when we arrived, they closed it back up 🤷🏼‍♀️
Without the gym being open, his body decided to no longer cooperate by day 4️⃣ We did the best we could with what we had, but it wasn’t enough for JCruz to get the amount of exercise he needed.
Since December 2020, the pain and discomfort has intensified tremendously 😫! His body is now making it known that his muscles and nervous system 😬 is under a lot of stress.
The only time he feels comfortable is when his body is exercising 🏋🏽‍♂️ with intense time under tension. He still has spasms and cramps during the workouts.
Yet the relief is short lived and primarily beneficial for the next day of functioning.
In order to walk tomorrow ➡️ he must work out like an athlete today‼️

Dam thankfully came across your channel. I was diagnosed with nmo in 2015 when I was only 18/19 but since day 1 I basically geed up since I did not get too good of recovery I have basically no use of left leg and some use of right leg I need crutches to get about outside. My leg muscles have been wasting away since then and probably as a massive mistake not doing much excerice as I just feel like what is the point with being so young.
