Woah, this is so nice! It's a really underrated pick, as many people have already pointed out, and I feel like it's one of the more challenging tracks to remix, with its sort of unusual structure and those notably growly bass notes in the original. But you really brought out the beauty of this piece, while amping it up with some high-energy drums and rhythmic supporting parts! The instrumentation here is so precise, and I really like the double attack on those chimes early on. The way you layer in saw synths at 0:17 (and again at 1:26) is a great progression, too, and it sets up the rest of the song nicely by giving it some modern flair! The wide variety of instruments add so much musical density, and they're all tactfully used, with each instrument given space to be heard and feature moments to shine. They offer a variety of textures, too, ranging from bold and gritty to delicate and glassy. My favorite part is the duo of measures at 1:09, as well as a later iteration at 2:19. But in listening to those two segments consecutively, it really brought my attention to how you differentiated the instrumentation between Laps 1 and 2. There are some subtle, yet meaningful differences the second time around. I'm having difficulty articulating them, in truth, but the layering in the second half sounds denser and brighter, and there are some key moments, like at 1:51, with that lovely high note that rings out - another one of my favorite parts! The percussive elements here really bring some new and fun energy to this rendition! Aside from some really solid House-styled beats, it sounds like there are also a few industrial elements in the percussion, too. For instance, at ( ), that metallic groove fits perfectly with the overall "cold" feeling of the piece, and just like with the tonal elements, it sounds as though the drums and percussion are denser in the second lap, as well! And your transitional work is stellar, as always, with the constant pattern-breakers, build-ups, cool-downs, lead-ins, and probably other hyphenated aspects that I've neglected to mention. 😅 But for real, you're an absolute exemplar when it comes to transitional work, among other aspects! And of course the video production is as polished as ever, with perfectly-timed transitions between the OG MK7 footage and the high-res MK8D gameplay. You really showcase all that this course has to offer, too, and watching the video and listening to your music really makes me want to play this stage! Ooh, and that transition to underwater at 1:54 with everything going black-and-white except the Blue Shell... that was awesome! You've taken a signature element of your remix videos and refined it to an even more distinct version. I love that! Once again, fantastic work here, Player2. This is an incredible finish to a month of wintry wonders! ❄
Definitely an underrated pick, but ever since this track released with the final wave of the BCP, this particular track has gained some passive traction! And yeah I gotta say, the sound selection for this remix was literally perfect; I could not have been more proud of this remix!! I gotta admit, as I was reading when you mentioned musical density, I actually think I kept the bass too loud; especially in the drop...I think it could come down a few dB, haha! 😅 but yes I do agree, there are a TON of elements in this track & somehow I managed to give most of those elements their own space! Perhaps I should create a course on how I go about these crazy transitions; every time you bring up my transitional skills, I keep thinking to myself, "I can't be _that_ good, right?!" but you know what, maybe I should stop questioning my own self & roll with it! Growing up as a drummer since middle school, I always knew that transitional effects between every 8 bars of music is very important, and I've always stayed true to that statement! As always, I'm glad you enjoyed the visual aspect - this particular video really does show how much more beautiful the MK8DX version looks; Nintendo truly did put in that extra effort much like I do in my remixing - where they preserved the originality while giving the track its own modern flare! I always love reading your comments, Equalyze! And of course I appreciate you stopping by to take a listen with your busy schedule. I hope you have a fantastic weekend! 💫
This is one of my favourite pieces of music in the MK series, incredibly underrated! You did an awesome job of remixing it that holds up to the original without making it the exact same or completely different!
I know, there's a _huge_ fanbase that loves this soundtrack; therefore I had to live up to the expectation to preserve the originality, and spicing it up just enough 🙌 Thank you so much for listening!!
Haha thanks man! It took forever to find the perfect sound for that metallic lead synth; I almost gave up on this track since no other type of sound really fit the vibe. All in all, very happy with this outcome! 🙌
There has never been a more underrated Mario Kart course then this. Welcome back to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, you deserved it legend Cool and n-ice remix btw
It's a solid track, the visuals in MK8DX really do outshine the MK7 version; it's a shame the BCP had to end, I honestly feel like Nintendo could just keep releasing DLC for MK8 until every track is in the game
Thank you so much for saying so; I was having second thoughts thinking I overdid the remix 😅 I appreciate you listening & thank you for your support!! 🙌
It’s a simple detail, but I love how the visuals switch from MarioKart 7 to MarioKart 8. 8 sounding more energetic and 7 having a more calm vibe :> It’s also cool how the race *finishes with you being in 2nd. (*kinda) Awesome remix
Thank you so much for saying so! I do take pride in the visuals just as much as the music itself!! Also it was definitely not intentional that I ended the video in second place hahaha, but great catch!!! Thank you so much for listening! 🧡
It's a very unique song, too. Lots of melodic twists. Can't beat that dark grand piano in the main verse section, though. It sounds so pleasing to the ear haha. Thank you for listening!
Hahaha literally happens to me all the time; I always say 2nd place is the best place to be in for 90% of the race! Thank you so much for your support!!!
I was not expecting this in the BCP and was skeptical when it was added. Luckily I now enjoy the track more, and I like the shortcut added onto the new version. This was certainly a good remix (even though it's summer for me) and I don't think your streak will ever end.
It was an interesting pick for sure; I personally enjoyed MK7 a lot so I'm glad to see its return! Hope you're enjoying your summer, and fingers crossed the streak prevails through the new year!! 🙌
In Mario Kart 7 I *HATED* Rosalina not because of her looks it's just that she was an ABSOLUTE *PAIN* in Mario Kart 7 I was about to get to the finish line and she threw a blue shell at me IN SECOND PLACE! And she has and unlimited supply of red shells that she uses only on ME! that's why I hate Rosalina. Epic song by the way I'm so happy that you made a Mario Kart 7 remix

Haha, did I meet your expectations?!?
I know a few other commenters are saying this but this is my favourite ost in all of mario kart and you did a fantastic job of remixing it.

This course was already fun enough on the 3ds, getting it revamped for the booster pack was a nice revival
It was quite a unique set of courses for the final wave, definitely was not expecting this one to return!
Clean remix! This has always had an interesting-sounding melody to me!
Thanks Ryu! I absolutely agree, this particular song is very unique!!
dude i totally forgot they added that bumblebee looking thing to mk7 lol
Lmao the queen bee!!! 🐝
Yeah that was a rather bizarre character
This one is such a classic, reminds me of the days of my 2ds and I 😅
