Love that Brandy knows what she is doing. Those accented letters would make the words chair and night sound extra. She gave it that warm and softness to the lines by taking them out. Reminds me of smooth Jazz band inside a bar at night.

Thank you for analyzing this wonderful rendition of Cinderella. I was and still am a huge fan of the original with Leslie Ann Warren from 1965 and then when it was remade and I was so excited and so glad to see the diversity. I am not a vocal coach but I've watched Todrick's version so many times that I understand everything you pointed out in the analysis and paid close attention to Brandy and Todrick's voices blending so well. I think he should win an award for this because it's done so perfectly. Every part of it has touched me and made me emotional too because I miss Whitney and Natalie. I don't do TikTok but I will to hear you sing. I am a new subscriber and I love to support my black brothers and sisters because we just should. I'm happy to follow you and keep making magic yourself!

what did you think about her run on “fly”? that’s my favorite part. she chose what words to run on and i think a lot of people missed that. i love what you said about her enunciation on words that end with “r”. vibrato is perfect. runs are perfect. phrasing. it’s just perfect.
I LOVED that run. I think her placement and use of runs and such was SO Brandy... but still fit this presentation!

When brandy harmonizes with her voice, I'm telling it's just magical. It just does something to me. It takes me to another place.
the video makes me cry everytime i watch because the rodgers and hammerstein cinderella movie came out when i was one or two, and was one of the first cinderella movies i ever saw, and as an adult i still sing in my own lil corner in my own lil chair while doing housework, so the nostalgia bomb that was todricks video made lil kid me loose their mind

I’m really interested on the difference between “breathy” and “airy”. Could you expand on that?
Yeah! In short, "breathiness", to me, is when one pushes air like whisper... as opposed to "airiness" is more-so an artistic choice that doesn't forsake the vocal line. Almost a distortion.

Another thing that I love about your show is you are giving me an insight to the new vocalist style of today that I didn't understand. I'm from the old school I'm old as your grandfather and grew up in the midwest like yourself Detroit. Your analysis helps me understand their sound and what their doing. Plus singers that I may not have liked you, enable me to listen again to them. Like Brandi which is one. Your analysis again, helps me understand this new style of singing. The young man is awesome! But I think it's Brandi's voice that I just don't particularly like. She's an excellent singer just not for me. Now the young i would have loved to hear more of him.
