😂😂😂 This is a family movie for me… Literally!!! 😂😂😂 Grandma Michelle produced it, the soundtrack was sung by my Mom (which also played the girl on the bicycle scene/ also the hag because Gloria was allergic to the makeup) Fry was my uncle, Deputy McQueeny was my Dad which also was the stunt driver, and even I played Gloria’s stunt double in the monster scene when I was 3 😂😂😂 The fact that it’s just so damned cheesy makes it even better 😂😂😂. The reviews crack me up because they’re SPOT ON! Thanks for the trip down memory lane and all the laughs ❤
Thank you for this enchanting info...love your Mom's voice. I seem to recall that this tune got some airplay in southern Cali. .This movie is Mac 'N Cheese..."Comfort Food Cinema".
@silvernova354.....Come on now....even us old people need some loving now & then...LOL..!! Besides, all they did was kiss...it could have been a lot worse....!! And we do have a lot of experience that you young ones haven't had the pleasure of learning yet...!!
Scary really? You don't know what a horror movie is this isn't a horror movie I feel sorry for the creature and why they keep saying he when as a male laied eggs hello
'Holy swamp slime Batman, it's Marshall Thompson of It The Terror From Beyond Space fame'... now, if only it had Dabbs Greer in it, my day would be made 😃😃
Marshall Thompson and Leo Gordon both worked in the Regal Films/20th Century Fox release, "LURE OF THE SWAMP" (1957) that Hubert Cornfield directed, which also co-starred Jack Elam and Joan Vohs-great 50s thriller!
It was an old trick in the 50's and 60's, to save themselves expenditure on night-lighting, so they would put a gauze over the lense to try and make it look like night, but hey, you still knew it was day...;)
@@GothicMod ...Yea, cheaper to put a dark lens on or some other way to cut off a lot of the day-light than try to film at night ( which is still done in some movies ), but it's funny when a scene is supposed to be at night and everyone and everything is casting off very definite shadows.
Gloria played bess on Ryan's hope for so many years and also appeared on another soap as the world turns. Her charecter on Ryan's hope was one of my favorite soap opera charecters . As for this movie it's been years since I've seen this used to have it on vhs years ago
Not sure if she was on general hospital I'm only aware of her work on as the world turns. And especially Ryan's hope where she was most recognized from but it's possible she was on general hospital
Thanks for sharing this film the old films are the best a man in a creature suit, I bet there's a sequel to this as the babies are yet to hatch in the bog that's why at the end was a ? I thought the love scene was sweet I knew he would save her from the creature cool creature suit I was 8 years old when this film came out.
Here we have a silly and hardly passing as a grade "B" monster movie, and yet there are three well-known actors: Gloria Dehaven, Aldo Ray, Marshall Thompson, all who had successful movie careers before making this movie. The man who flew in towards the end was Leo Gordon, another well-known actor who had made many movies before this one. I wonder how much of the budget went towards their salaries? By the look of the rest of the production, probably a lot....LOL..!! Oh well, this was probably a good drive-in movie.
"23:53...........Kinda reminds me of Barbara Hale aka the "lady scientist" from "The Giant Spider Invasion"! "PACKERS!" lol! A MST3K joke there, sorry lol!"
This movie is a cheesy good time. The Bog monster is goofy as hell, the colorful characters and dialogue are entertaining, and the theme song is so damn corny.
"1:23:06.............Holly shiat! 1st girl on bike - Pat Hopkins! The country cutie in the green jumper! That's the chick singing this horrible lovey dovey song! Yikes!"
"FINAL COMMENT"..........It's nice to know after all this killing some lame brain deputy sheriiff who can't drive worth shiat killed the creature by just crashing into it! The End LOL!"
I liked this low-budget monster flick. forgetting the horrible sports jackets worn by "Doc" and "john." Did we need to see the oropharynx of everyone who screamed? No one but a chemist can remember the periodic table 20 years (or more) after college. Why were they unarmed when chasing the monster? nice that it ended with a good old fish fry, followed by the cliché question mark after "The End."
What makes me laugh how do they know this creature is a he? He's don't lay eggs stupid and it not frightening and you call this a horror you need to watch 58killings from the bigging 22pluss the boggie man now that is a true life horror mind funked horror. This film is bad taste

Whether these movies were made for tv or the big screen, these classic movies are still great to watch.🙂
Great movie! (The love scene between the Pathologist and the old Doctor was even more frightening than the monster itself.) 👍
😅😅
Comment of the week. 100%

Yeah, I always enjoyed Marshall Thompson. And throw in Terry Kilburn (1938 Tiny Tim) and Kim Parker for some Fiend Without a Face alumni, too!! LOL
I didn't think Aldo Ray could get any uglier.
19:19 best line in cinema for anyone who doesn't want to watch the whole film

Yeah unfortunately the real night time tends to be somewhat dark and we wouldn’t be able to see anything.
@Gothic mod: Correct, except for the fact that this was made in 1979, so what’s your excuse now then?
Kung Fu movies did this a lot. Day for night.

Middle age Gloria still looked pretty good.

This one looks suspiciously as though it was influenced by Attack of the Giant Leeches (1959). Fun flick. Thanks !

This movie is a cheesy good time. The Bog monster is goofy as hell, the colorful characters and dialogue are entertaining, and the theme song is so damn corny.
They must have paid Gloria a bunch of $ to do this silly movie 🎬.
Opening scene, fishing with small explosives brings back memories!🐟🦭
The good old days
From description of movie it should have been named women on their monthly cycle movie!! A monster who feeds on women's blood only! 😮😮😮 maybe?? 😂😂😂😂

@@Jeffrey314159 I do associate that title with this movie. but I know the difference
I think leave the thing in the lake and don't go there put a sign up keep out danger or it may come out and get you a good plot
,1979 movies black and white still nice
it's in color
This flick has the look and feel of Larry Buchanan's Azalea productions back in the 60s, if you are familiar with those.
No way! For this film has way better production values than that
