that "not set up to feel someone loving you" thing is no joke. I suffer and have suffered from that my whole life. For a long time I feared i was a sociopath and only cared about myself, but the MOMENT my daughter was born, everything changed.
just always felt like i was "supposed" to feel a certain way toward family and friends/loved ones but always felt empty. Always felt like i had to "act" like i did to seem normal. fake smile, etc when in side if they dropped dead i wouldn't change a step in my schedule - just felt NOTHING- then my daughter was born in 2016 and that changed

I feel the same way, my gf wants to hve kids and I’ve been really struggling with the thought of it, a big part because I saw my dad just so distanced from us as kids, he was always just so lonely and disconnected from us so I learned that from him. Now I’m like in my early 40’s and it’s been fucken hard to shake it. Hearing you say that having kids has given you that feeling back gives me hope

David Kymdell you take those feelings you had when you were a kid and make it a priority to make sure your kid NEVER knows what that feeling is like. Just love them down to their soul. The rest will follow.
David Kymdell make no mistake, having a kid can give anxiety that "you can't do what you want anymore" or "what if i'm not a good parent or know what to do" - you'll know what to do. Communicate with ur significant other and "tag" in and out so it's not always on one person and things should even out

Love yourself. If you do you'll be able to. I struggle with smoking too. I hate it wish I could quit but havent. I guess that's part of the depression too. Depression hits close to home for me. Killed my mom, multiple drug intoxication. All prescribed so be careful. It's like this. "A headache is not a sign of an aspirin deficiency". Something makes you depressed a pill is not gonna fix it. I love you man, you keep it real.

Yeah, I'm Aussie! Endless pineapple here. I live in the suburbs, and I have about 30 pineapples growing. When I buy one with a top on, I just cut the top off, put it in the ground, and eventually you start getting pineapples! You may get three or four from them, or they respawn a branch after fruiting. They are low fuss.
Wildlife though, I'd take what we have over the monsters you have in the USA - bears, mountain lions, wolves. Not like snakes are everywhere.

Chantix really successfully helped both my parents quit smoking... temporarily. They were on it for probably about a year and then finally decided they were comfortable going off of it. As soon as they did, they started smoking again. Just a heads up!
