    Love this. May copy this build down the road with a tad more space in the back due to needing to fit more bikes. Awesome build

    Hello, nice video and build. I just ordered 2023 148 crew, medium roof. I want to plan ahead. Only thing I see different is that I'll have interior trim up until the cargo area. So your saying, in short, that your partition is a dealership installed aluminum wall at the C pillars?

    nice build the only thing id want to try to make sure id be able to do is be able to load 2 or 3 bikes, so the diagonal mount would be out for me.

    Do you get arm pump? I’m built like you and it’s been like give up heavy lifting and be a string bean and fast or be jacked and arm pump. Haven’t found a way around it. Adding cardio helps..

  • @jonathanbrazeau970
    @jonathanbrazeau970 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    thanks for sharing, super helpful. I'm trying to figure out between a cargo trailer or cargo van for MTB and moto stuff... so how long have you had it? any issues with the trans axle breaking? water ingress onto the electronics box under the hood? those are apparently issues with the transits...

    Cool build and good video! I'm ordering my 2021 Transit tomorrow. You've given me some cool ideas here. Wondering how much space do you think you're saving by having the bike sideways? It looks like you could'a angled it even further?

    • @fit4moto
      @fit4moto  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks man!! I suppose it depends on what you're trying to put in there. You could totally angle it further if you wanted to but with a lock and load system I used you have to be able to fit the bolt holes within the ribbing. But if you're using a standard tiedown system there's tons of options available! If you were going to put the bike even more sideways there's a crazy amount of room in those vans. More so than you would think. Good luck on your build I'd love to see what you do!!

    What is the textured wall panel?

  • @311hitwall
    @311hitwall 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    How did you install the bike lock and load since you are putting the bike in at an angle? Also how did attach the lock and load to the van - the d rings? I was thinking about getting the crew van so i would have the seat behind to increase the functionality but I am not sure a bike would fit even in the medium length van with seat in place.

    • @fit4moto
      @fit4moto  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The lock and load system just bolts right to the floor of the vehicle or the floor of the truck or whatever. To drill a hole through the floor drop the bolts through and it holds it securely in place. It took a little bit of messing around to figure out where the bike would sit and where the lock and lock would sit because the bikes on an angle, but if you mess around with it for a few minutes you'll find a spot that it fits quite well.
      What the only way a bike would fit I think in the medium length would be to have it on an angle like what I have. It's doable, but if you want to put multiple bikes in there that might be an issue. I hope that helps!

  • @brucefile7430
    @brucefile7430 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks for the video, I got some good ideas for my future van. Do you have any regrets not going with the extended version? Would you be able to squeeze two bikes in there if needed?

    • @fit4moto
      @fit4moto  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Bruce! Well so far I haven't used the back bench as much as I thought i would ( i change up front all the time). But it is handy for quick access to stuff and for storage. I'm in the process of adding storage onto the doors for just a quick grab and go like chain lube. But other than that i love it! I can only fit one bike in the back with the current layout, but I can also put one in the front section if i need to like if a buddy comes along, do it's kind of like a happy medium. I haven't really needed anymore space then i have so for me it's the perfect length. Hope that helps!

    Like the video, hope to be doing one of these soon too. I want to have a bed over my garage in the back. How do you think the awd compares to a traditional 4x4?

    • @fit4moto
      @fit4moto  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually I find it sticks to the road really well! It seems like they have the traction figured out and it knows where to put the power.
