The app Photos to Slides asks permission to access and download all your Google Drive files. That could include personal information, financial stuff, passwords. Be careful!
@@awnelson22 You can just create separate albums, each one having no more than 50 photos and import them one at a time. This is the workaround that I have used!
I've been researching this for a bit and I found something a lot easier that I would like to share. No computer needed. With a Google photos account and a Chromecast you can just activate Google assistant either by using a Google home device "ok Google" or through your phone by long pressing the middle button on Android or through the Google assistant app. And just ask it to "play me pictures of (whoever or whatever you want) and it just starts playing it onna slide show. It's really that simple. Thank you for taking the time to make this video it helped me search for an easier way. Hope this helps.
@@marblejarchannel it's got two drawbacks that I haven't been able to figure out how to get around. Firstly and most importantly, it doesn't loop the slideshow. So once the pictures run out it stops the slideshow and eventually the Chromecast times out. The other is that there's no way to edit the transitions or the time between pics although it is set at five seconds which seems right. Thanks marble lady 😉
Thank you very much for making this video. I've one question, my slide is ready however, after hitting play it gets stocks on the same Pic it won't play them all automatically, I'd have to hit the arrowstoamke it switch, how can I correct this?
Thanks for taking the time make this video. So you need a computer to make this happen? 2020, you would think they would have an easier way by now. Thank you pretty lady.
hello. I'm trying to create a slideshow for my fiance's memorial service. so far this video has been very helpful. Although when i go to add the album that only has 211 photos in it, some how 511 photos gets loaded instead, duplicating some photos even more than once? has this ever happened to you?
Hi, Aaron. I haven’t had this happen, but I do remember some slightly strange things happening during the import - photos cut off or off center. I hope they are duplicated in a way that is easy for you to fix. And I’m sorry to hear that you are having to prepare this for your fiancé’s memorial service. My thoughts are with you. 💜
Honestly thought this was a million dollar production video 10 out of 10 everything was perfect I know nothing about reaching the quality that you have. I think I could even hear the texture of human hair crossing the microphone
Hi, Jeff -- thanks for the comment! I find it funny considering how low tech my video productions are. If you are at all interested, I did a series on how I make my videos: th-cam.com/video/dVWqTuEJBjE/w-d-xo.html.
Can you post a direct link to the photo slideshow add on? I can't seem to find it and I've searched everywhere.
Hi, Nancy. Looks like they changed the name. Now it's called "Photos to Slides." Thanks for pointing this out. I'm going to pin this comment!
@@marblejarchannel Thank you so much! I'll check that out and give it a try!
@@marblejarchannel The app now charges to use more than 50 photos! Do you know of any other add-ons? Thanks!!

You can also do this now using Google Home. I probably need to do an updated video! Thanks for your comment!

Tried this, but it disconnects from my chromecast each time :/
This is great!!! Is there any way to add a few random short 5-10 second video? Thanks
Thank you. Is there a way to have the slideshow present on your screen in full screen mode?
Thank you for your advice
Truly useful
Off topic, but I can tell you eq'd your sound! Well done!
Thanks for the video... a few things have changed since 2019 within Google Slideshow but I was able to figure it out. Your video got me through it.
Can you add sound to it? thanks
can you put it on a loop for it to continue playing?

Can you add in regular slides mixed into these slideshows? Can you make the photos fit the entire screen without losing quality?
EXACTLY WHAT I NEED! THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
Thanks. It's not really automatic in the sense that I can't just add my folder to a folder and the online slideshow updates.

What about sound? can you add sound? i'd be nice to have the photos display along with music from youtube or sound from a file
Super useful! :) I recently upgraded my Tv so fancied doing smt like this too, loved the video with all the useful tips! :)
You can also use Chromecast and turn on its Ambient mode. Select to Play from Google photos. And select albums you want to play
It only shows 5 photos from the album. I went through all this stuff to do what’s he said but it was pointless and a waste of time.
Do you need to connect to wifi on the google hdmi device?
Yes, Wifi is required.
How do you add music though
What if I don't have my photos stored on Google Photos? I have mine on my iPhone, and my Toshiba laptop.
Thanks pretty!
Can you use a smartphone to cast the photos with the Google Chromecast?
I haven't figured out how to do that yet!

wow great video, Can't wait to try it.
Why does Google have to make it so complicated? Slideshows seem pretty basic
Because they want to sell that device. Chromecast make money
It's all about money
Merci beaucoup de Montréal Québec Canada !!
Thanks! This helped so much!!
Low resolution output options during publish to web, no thanks, not on a 4k tv.
Im using Oprea GX and im not gonna stop

What’s talk ?
I paused vid several times just to look at your face
beautiful
Weirdo
Please move your microphone out of your hair. It's all we hear is your hair rubbing against your microphone.
Thanks for the feedback! I'll try to avoid this in future videos.
