Hi Josh, thanks for this awesome series! I've been deer hunting for 40 years and went out last Spring for my first turkey hunt. Loved it. I'm looking to build my understanding of turkey hunting, and your series is perfect for that. I now won a pot and box call and a decoy. I'm in Maryland and we actually have a three day winter season (January 18-20), so I'm going to go out for a day of that. Any suggestion on how to hunt turkey in January?
Hey Gary, I really appreciate it! Glad to hear it’s been informative. Turkey hunting this time of year can be tough but pretty straight forward. They are most likely flocked up in big groups this time of year so if your in an area where there are birds frequenting it should be easy to tell with sign. Your best bet will be to get in front of the flock when they fly down in the morning or throughout the day. They are definitely vocal this time of year but you may have to be close to hear them depending on the day but if you’re gonna call I’d try to replicate the loudest turkey in the flock.
If I'm reading the rules right for Ohio turkey hunting you don't have to have your gun plugged as long as you have no more than a total of 3 shells in gun ??
Thanks for a great video and information. This is my first year hunting Turkeys, I live in Georgia. Looking forward to this series.

Scattering the flock is also a popular tactic you may want to look up. Hope this helps and let me know how ya do?

I was at the expo as well.
Bearded hens are legal
That’s correct! Thank you Eric
Is it 1 bird per year?
For the spring season. I believe you can get another tag for the fall but double check.

I believe thats correct. I think they changed the plug rull a few years back.
