Thank you for the credit. I had no idea that Jeep used Motorcraft carbs too but I'm glad to see everything else seems to be going smooth. Someone else probably told you but you really need to put some Loctite or JBWeld on the threads of those throttle blade screws. They are obviously not the kind of fasteners you want backing out. Can't wait to see how it runs!
Did get red locktite on the throttle blades, thought I mentioned it in the episode before. Dealing with a cooling system leak since Sunday, and one hose short for the cab otherwise I would have starttit up. And I need to send you a question about the enrichment valve
Nice work! I liked the editing style and the music too! The concepts shown on this carb apply to most, great video to send to someone who wants to know how a carb works.
Hey thanks! Yea there are a few things that I "think" I did right, meaning I'm not 100% sure I got 100% right, but kind of know what to check right away if something isn't working right too. For the most part it was pretty straight forward!
Working on 2150 this weekend belongs to a 351 mod. Theres something therapeutic with taring down and rebuilding a carb. Right on six great video keep em coming!
Sweet! I finally got my Fairmont started today, so I apparently did something right on the rebuild. I actually don't live in ICT anymore but still in KS. I grew up just outside the city limits near Goddard
Excellent quick video ! Just went thru a 2150 on a 78 f150 351m and sadly the Venturi tube on one side was split, had a missing check ball weight and no clip for attaching the needle. Since I can’t find the Venturi assembly, I broke down & ordered one of those cheapo knockoff 2150’s off of Amazon just to see if they were any good. Awaiting it to arrive as I type.
Str8sixfan ill let you know when I get it. I won’t be able to tell it’s overall road manners tho as it’s only for moving the truck in & out of the garage. This trucks gonna get a complete LS/4L60e swap and make a fun reliable toy for the Mrs to drive in the future.
@@brianhigginbotham4489 I bought one of the Chinese amazon ones, junk. I was too nervous about rebuilding a carb but now here I am about to start. The cheap one started leaking everywhere.
There's always a balance with this. Sometimes when I take the time to explain things, I'm long winded and people end up scrubbing to the parts they care about getting to the point. And I know sometimes when it's a matter of getting something on the road so you can get to work on monday, you're looking for the version of the video that cuts to the chase and gets down to the show don't tell business...so for this particular video I chose the second style (usually I do the talk too much version) TBH, this was the first carb I rebuilt, so not sure I should have been trying to explain much more anyway. But to wrap it all up, I appreciate the comment, and am happy to know I helped someone out!

@@Str8sixfan Good! I must have missed that part or forgot about it. And I will help any way I can so shoot me a question any time.

even though I couldn't get mine to run right, it still was therapeutic as you say to rebuild
@@Str8sixfan hey six whats your carb doing ? What is the symtoms your having
I have the 2150 from my 351M in the soaker tank as we speak.
Nice job bud. I admire people who can do this job. I am too afraid to attempt a carb rebuild! Let's see it running next time!
That's the next trick
I’m front Wichita as well, this was helpful on my 82 f-150! Thanks a lot.

I really enjoyed that video and I will admit.....I was tapping my toes to the music...LOL
I kind of liked the music too!
👍Good Pace and Music. Keep on Wrenching
Thank you much!
Nice job! Your editing style is a lot like mine, fast moving and to the point. Great to see a younger guy not afraid of a carburetor. HAHA!
haha, well not always. I took the "to the point approach" on this one because I normally talk too much.
Have a question. Is it possible to change the venturi to a larger one? Example like going from a 1.02 to a 1.08.
I'm not that Savvy. I upgraded from 1.08 to 1.21... but did it by buying a totally different body

I'll be interested to know how that works, just in case I end up with problems I can't figure out. May have to resort to something like that

An electric toothbrush works well for cleaning small or hard-to-access parts.
that's a good tip!
Nice work on the rebuild Grant great work now let's here her roawrrr @Str8sixfan
Thank you for the video. Wish you would have shown a bit more details for us that are clueless and learning.

If only!
Which carburator kit did you use? your carburator is exactly the same as mine...
